A Cute Picture
Here is a picture from Sophie's birthday party of all her cousins, herself and grandma and grandpa Rydalch. They looked so cute that I thought it should be shared!

A Monkey Tantrum and "Lots of candy!"
Last night we took Sophie out for her first real trick'r treating adventure. It started shortly after her nap when she had a meltdown upon trying to put on her monkey costume. Do you think that little girl could be convinced to dress up like a monkey?! I think not. It took lots of persuading and coaxing to even get the pants on and I finally just had to put the jacket on with her screaming and writhing around.
After that we hauled her into the car, crying and all. However, once we got to the mall's trunk'r treat she was all smiles as soon as the first piece of candy dropped in her bucket! About a third of the way through she got the hang of holding out her "punkin bucket" for candy. Once through the mall and parking lot we sat down on a bench to evaluate her spoils. She was so excited to have "lots of candy!" Had we not mentioned dinner was chicken nuggets she would have devoured the whole lot.
We then proceeded to Wendy's for a quick dinner before our ward's trunk'r treat. By the time we hit the church, Sophie was a pro at holding that bucket up. She even got a toothbrush, which she absolutely loved! She carried it around the rest of the night (it hung out of her mouth as she "brushed her teeth").
Once we got home Sophie was very hyped up so Tyler decided to take her around the townhouses. I stayed home and awaited their return which was about 30 minutes later and she was still going strong. And amazingly she wasn't trying to rip her costume off, so we decided to hit a road in the neighborhood. I was so surprised to see her trucking through the neighborhood knocking on doors. She loved to walk through the leaves in peoples yards and her favorite houses were the ones with dogs. "Hi doggie...silly doggie...bye, bye doggie..." and then she would blow kisses.
We had a great night out trick'r treating and we were so excited that Sophie was having fun! That night as she was going to bed Tyler and I heard her yell "lolli-POP!" we couldn't help but laugh.

Sophie's Birthday
We celebrated Sophie's 2nd birthday last Saturday with a Minnie Mouse themed party. She was so excited as we set everything up. We had a table cloth with all the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters on it and she kept telling us who each one was, it was really cute.
She was a little shy once all the family got here, but it didn't take long for her to warm up to everyone. Pretty much all of Tyler's immediate family came and my sister and grandparents were here to help us celebrate. We started off with some yummy sandwiches and salads, Sophie had fun eating all the chips and Aunt Cami wasn't too strict about keeping her out of the bowl.
Next we did presents and Sophie had a blast opening all of them. She would ooh and awe over each and everything! Especially the books! She was really excited when she saw that Aunt Jamie got her more Frog and Toad books, Sophie absolutely loves them. It was so cute because she would even hold the clothes up to her after she tore the wrapping paper off. Uncle Jared got her a cool set of mommy and baby barnyard animals that she is constantly playing with and Aunt Natalie, Uncle Kevin and their kids got her some awesome books called Skippyjon Jones and a really cute cupcake baking kit. Sophie was even more thrilled when she opened up a doll stroller from Aunt Cami, needless to say all of her new toys are favorites that she plays with everyday!
After that we ate cake and ice cream. I had stayed up the night before and made her a Minnie Mouse cake that she proceeded to put her finger in the moment I put it in front of her to blow out the candles. Regardless of that she was very excited that her cake was Minnie.
After everyone left Sophie relived the party by going through her birthday cards and reciting everyone that was here and then running to the door and yelling, "oh door, Rylie here, Natalie here...." She would go through everyones name eventually. She was also very proficient at telling herself happy birthday!
All in all Sophie had a wonderful birthday and thanks to all who came and made her smile.
