Temple "yights"

I took Roman to temple square last week to see the beautiful Christmas lights and hopefully start a tradition for the two of us.

I love to be on the temple grounds this time of year. . . . .even when it's so cold you have to dress your child up like the kid from a Christmas Story.:)

Roman loved the "yights" and the "waudoo" in the fountains. By the end of our 45 min tour I had taught him to say "teple". . . . soooo cute!

Quality time with Roman is so priceless.

I'm so glad we were able to see the lights this year!

Christmas Visitors

Special visitors stopped by the week before Christmas. . . . .

We were so excited to see Stacy & Jax Workman!

They stayed and visited for a couple hours and by the end of the night Roman & Jax were running around, chasing each other and laughing. It was so cute to see them play together!. . . . not so cute when they pushed each other around because they didn't want to share a toy. . . . but boys will be boys right?:)

Roman showing Jax his dance moves.:)

Roman showing mom his dance moves.:)

(This boy loves to dance! He puts one arm like a chicken and moves his hips back & forth. It's adorable.)
* * *

It was so good to see Stacy & Jax! We're so glad they stopped by!
I wish so badly that Jason would have been here to see our sons playing together........but I'm confident that he's watching from a better place.
We're so happy to get to know Jason's beautiful wife and son and hope to maintain a lifelong friendship with them.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas Stacy & Jax! We love you both!

Meeting "Sa-ta"

I was a little nervous about how Roman would react to meeting Santa. . . . well, he surprised me.:)

He walked right up to "Sa-ta" with a smile on his face and clapping his hands.

His reaction to candy from a stranger wasn't as welcoming.:)
"Uh....thanks but no thanks 'Sa-ta'."

Roman's really getting into the Christmas spirit. Playing with his nativity set, dancing to Christmas music, checking out the "yights" and picking out "Sa-ta" on every picture, commercial & gift bag. He even has a stuffed Santa that grandma bought him that he carries around everywhere.
I love this time of year!

Thanksgiving in Phoenix

We decided to ditch the cold weather in Utah this year and head to my parent's home in Phoenix.

* * *

Thanksgiving day started with a 5K Turkey Waddle.

(Pre-waddle)

This cute little guy met me at the finish line.:)

My dad (aka- the turkey carver)
Let the feast begin!!

This was technically Roman's 1st Thanksgiving. . . . because what's a Thanksgiving when all you get is milk?:)
The garlic mashed potatoes were his favorite! He smelled like garlic for days.:)
He also liked the sweet potatoes, rolls, and corn. Not a fan of the turkey or stuffing though. . . . crazy kid!

After our Thanksgiving naps we headed to the Phoenix zoo for "Zoo Lights".

* * *
Roman had to have his own light-up glow stick.

(Don't be jealous of my flip-flops in November) :)

Family photo outtake- -

Really??. . . . . what's everyone looking at?

Spider lights

Roman & Papa

I think Roman enjoyed Zoo lights. It was a fun night!

I do not take for granted the many blessing I have in my life. I have so many things to be grateful for and I'm thankful we have a holiday that reminds us to reflect on all of those things.

Hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Post Haircut Snack

This kid loves lemons. . . and can't help but make a sour face.

Yuuuuuummmy!

* Roman's 1st official haircut was a success. He cried like his arm was getting chopped off during the actual cut but it was worth the tears. He looks so handsome!:)

I'm way late posting Roman's 16 month update.....he'll be 17 months old in 3 days so we'll just have to combine the two.:)

Cutest Gorilla EVER?

ABSOLUTELY!!!
* * *

Roman had such a fun Halloween! He has been sportin' this costume at many events over the past couple days. . . . . A Halloween parade with dad on Friday, Trunk or Treat with dad on Saturday, to church on Sunday (kidding, kidding) and showing off his cuteness in Blanding with mom on Halloween.
One of Roman's 1st words was na-na so this prop was quite fitting.:)

Papa was right in the middle of imitating gorilla sounds for Romie in this pic. Ha!! Love it!

Special Halloween treat from grandma & papa.:)

Making the trick or treat rounds......

Watch out!. . . this gorilla can get grumpy too. . . . but he's mine, all mine!!

Kids make this holiday worth having!

Happy 2011 Halloween everyone!

Hope yours was as great as ours.:)

Fifteen Months!!

Roman is a riot these days. And man does he keep me hoppin'!:)

He can be a sweet boy but he's starting to get a mind of his own and if he wants something then you better give it to him. Like I said in one of my previous posts..."I have learned to pick my battles."

To be honest....he basically runs the house. Especially if grandma & papa are here.

He's so dang cute and very hard to say "no" to.:)
* * *

Here he is sitting on the headboard on grandma & papa's bed. Guess who let him up there?

Loves to play with anything that's not one of his toys.....like hangers for instance.

He'll play with his real toys on rare occasions, like when papa will play with him.:) This boy LOVES his papa. He asks for papa as soon as he wakes up, when I pick him up from daycare, or any other time papa's not in site. They're buddies....and it's pretty dang cute.

Putting the shapes in the cookie jar.

Roman has a major aversion to hats for some reason. He even likes to pull other people's hats off. So trying to keep a hat on him is next to impossible.

Roman is 15 1/2 months old now! I can hardly believe it.

You know your baby isn't a baby anymore when he points at infants and says "baby?"

Yea, it nearly brings me to tears.:(
But at the same time I am enjoying each stage. . . . & each day for that matter.

* * *

Love you Roman!
