Catch-Up. . . . .

(Nothing like trying to catch-up on the blog from things we did back in May.:/)

Weekend Va-Ca
. . . .
We decided to take a small overnight vacation to Ouray, Colorado, during Memorial Day weekend. My parents had spent the whole month of May babysitting Roman while I was at work because Roman's daycare provider was on maternity leave. To thank them for all their help we took them with us.:)
. . . .

We stopped to stretch our legs in Telluride, Colorado, and found a cute little park for Roman.
He ran around like a little maniac and had a blast of course!:)
Running!

Sliding!

Swinging!

. . . . and laughing!
Even mom had some fun.:)

Not sure if I've mentioned Roman's love of animals. . . . . it's pretty adorable.
And I'm not sure how much the animals appreciate it.:)
"Hey doggy, doggy. Cute doggy. Oh doggy! Come back doggy!"
How gorgeous is Roman's grandma??:)
And boy does he love her!

Guess who Roman inherited his love of cycles from?
These two are best buds.
When we arrived in Ouray we walked down Main Street, had a great dinner, toured some shops and stopped for icecream. . . then we made our way back to the hotel and did some lounging. . . .and hot tubbing (not pictured).:)
We had big plans to spend Saturday at the Hot Springs Pool in Ouray. . . . but due to the hurricane strength winds we decided against it. Instead, we made our way over to Silverton on the Million Dollar Highway. . . .which was beautiful!
. . . .
If you're not familiar with Silverton, Colorado, I'll tell you it's mostly known for the train that stops there.
Roman is pretty obsessed with trains so you can imagine his excitement to see a real one.
He was screaming "Train! Train! Lookit da train mom!"

We made our way back home through Cortez that evening. It was a short but fun trip with beautiful scenery! So glad to make memories with grandma & papa and just enjoy the beautiful country we live in.

Memorial Day

This year we made sure to pay our respects to a few of the men in our lives that served our country and fought for our freedom.
* * *
Roman met Grandpa Joe when he was about a month old but did not have the privilege of getting to know him. His humor, unconditional love, amazing hugs & creative cooking is sorely missed.
We love & miss you sooooo much Grandpa Joe!. . .
And we feel your spirit & love from beyond the veil.

And to the friend who died defending our country. . . . .
Jason, your memory lives on.
We miss you!

May we thank the men & woman everyday who sacrifice their lives for our country. And may we remember them & their families in our prayers.

Hot Days of Summer

*Rewind to June*
. . . .
We love spending my afternoons off work at the Blanding pool!
Roman's getting more brave. . . .which is exciting & scary. He goes down the kiddie slides by himself and if I'm not quick enough there's no one at the bottom to catch him. . . . thankfully he lands on his feet most of the time.
Attempting to take pictures of Roman while he's in the water is a dangerous thing. . . .thus the lack of pictures.:)
We always make time for snacks at the pool. . . .
It's the only time mom can relax.:)
I had to throw this picture in because I'm not sure what this face is.
Looks a little scary but always cute coming from this kid.:)

We LOVE summer!!!

Twins!!

I just HAD to dedicate a post to these two cuties!
Mason James & London Kate- -
Born May 23, 2012
Their mom Kristin is one of my best friends and you have no idea what she went through to get them here! That part I do NOT envy. But they are absolutely perfect & precious in every way. Beyond the sleep deprivation, constant nursing, Mason's pyloric stenosis surgery & subsequent acid reflux, double diaper duty and added worry of 2 more children. . . . .
I'm completely jealous.:)
This picture was taken the first day I met them in June. I carried them around like this for 45 minutes.
I was in infant heaven!

Congratulations to Jarom, Kristin & big brother Jaxson!
Love you all!

Papa Bear :)

(Still back in June)
I'd like to introduce you to Roman's new crib mate.
THIS is Papa Bear. . . . . .
Bear Bear's dad. . . .naturally.:)
This larger than life furry beast was an early birthday gift from grandma & papa. Roman was so excited when he saw this huge thing! He cuddled right up to it saying "Big bear!", at which time grandma told him it was Bear Bear's dad. . . .so "Papa Bear" it became.
Roman insisted Papa Bear sleep in his crib with him that night and to this day that's where Papa Bear lives (3 months later). It doesn't bother Roman that the bear takes up half the crib, he just uses one of Papa Bear's legs as a pillow and by morning Roman's comfortably squished on his side of the crib.:) Did I mention Roman also has to have Bear Bear, his blanket, a sippy of water and one or two toys with wheels to go to bed at night? Needless to say, it's a full crib.

Welcome to the family Papa Bear.:)

Hello World!

I am SO far behind on blogging it's ridiculous.:/
A lot has happened in Roman & I's life since June!. . . . .Some of the biggest changes have been:

-Roman turned TWO!
-I accepted a job at Intermountain Surgical Center in Salt Lake City.
-We moved to "the big city"!
and. . . . .
-I bought my 1st home!
* * *
I think I'll start out light with my updating by posting a little about Roman & I's current living situation & daily play.
*
A friend of mine was nice enough to rent out her basement to us while we got situated in Salt Lake and looked for housing. This is where we currently reside while our townhouse is being built. Colette has been a great hostess and Roman is loving the big back yard.
I think these pictures were taken on a lazy Sunday morning (Note:Roman is still in his pjs):).

Roman is obsessed with the hose and loves to put water on and in anything he can. Notice the water on his head.:)

It took Roman a couple weeks to adjust to our new life here in Salt Lake but he seems to be doing well now. . . . .besides the normal 2 year old tantrum.:)
I found a really great Daycare that Roman is doing well at. He LOVES his teacher Ms.Cherrie. . . .and he has her wrapped around his little finger.
He has a way of doing that.:)

Now that we've settled into a routine and I've purchased my own computer- - -

Mother's Day

This is my attempt at getting a cute picture of Roman and I for Mother's Day.
You can imagine his mood at 4:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday after church with no nap. . . .
And this is as good as it was going to get.:)
He did get me a very cute card and gift though.

Thank you Roman!
(And my mom for helping:)

I thank my Father in Heaven every day for the privilege of being Roman's mom.
What a wonderful blessing it is!
