A Texan Surprise

Last week I was able to successfully surprise my mom for her birthday/spring break week by showing up with Jaxon in Texas.  My dad sneakily picked us up from the airport, and we got to our house around midnight.  My mom was sleeping, so I rang the doorbell and left Jaxon on the front porch.  My mom answered the door half asleep, and with no contacts in.  She was confused at first, but once she realized what was going on she was so excited.  I wish I would have got it on video.

Jax and I spent about 8 days in Texas.  It was such a nice trip (besides the fact that it rained most of the time).  There were a few days at the end where it was sunny, so we took advantage of it and visited the Austin Zoo.  The Austin Zoo is not really a city zoo- it's more of an animal sanctuary for rescued animals. It was really awesome and much better than most zoos I have been to, because the animals were closer up and the zoo had a lot of interaction with the animals.

I was really nervous traveling on a 5+ hour flight by myself with Jaxon, but he did really well.  He only had one minor melt down while taking off after our layover in Denver, but for the most part he slept on the plane since we traveled at night.

Visiting my mom's school (she is the assistant principal).  Jax got to be a surfer in one of the teacher's rooms.

It was sad saying goodbye at the airport, but we had to get back to Robie who was missing us like crazy.  We had such a fun time in Texas. Love you guys!

Who Are THE MORMONS?

As an advertising major, I have a love for Infographics.  So, when I saw THIS ARTICLE and Infographic about LDS beliefs, I had to share.  This is such a great article and the Infographic is eye catching and informative.  With all the crazy rumors going around about Mormons not being Christians during this upcoming political election, I think it's important for people to know the real facts from a reliable source. (Mormons ARE Christinans by the way.)  This article answers a lot of questions about the LDS faith.  I would definitely encourage people to pass it on if they feel like it.  I think it's awesome, and I even learned a few new things.

Also, I've been slow in the blogging world lately, but I have a good excuse.  I flew to Texas with Jaxon as an early surprise birthday present for my mom.  I will be back towards the end of this week with a ton of pics and stories.
