Lots to share.

Don and I have been doing a lot fun things these days, and I haven't had time to keep up!  This is a small peek into some of our latest adventures.

I have been following the NBA Playoffs this year (mostly because I was hoping the Mavs would put up a fight as defending champs...).  Sadly, the Mavs did not perform as anticipated.  To console my aching heart, I threw my energy into cheering for the Celtics.  I mean, we do live in Boston.  Might as well go green, right!?

Homemade pizza.  Basketball.  Celtics.

Life is good.

Don and I decided that we wouldn't want to meet Kevin Garnett in a dark alleyway.  He kind of looks like he would pummel you for no good reason.  Also, we think he weighs more than both of us combined.

A couple weeks later, Don's friend from med school came to Boston for a conference, and he stayed with us for the weekend.  Josh spent most of the weekend at his conference, but Friday night might have involved some lettuce wraps from P. F. Chang's.  Yeeeeess.

And finally...Memorial Day weekend.  On Sunday, we went on a 2 hour walk around Boston.  It was really fun, and we explored Boston Common and the Public Garden.

Don said that the flowers on the right side of the picture look like they came from Horton Hears a Who.  Ha!  I agree.

There was a really cool memorial set up in the Common.  They placed a flag for every Massachusetts soldier that had died since the Civil War.

We walked back home along the Charles River where we met a fascinating lady who was feeding a group of ducklings.  She told us that these ducks had just hatched that same morning.  I asked her how she knew they were not even a day old, and she said she could tell just by their size and mannerisms.  She knew a lot about ducks, so we picked her brain for about 15 minutes.  It was really, really interesting.  (Um, geese have 3 digestive chambers...so they can eat a lot. of. bread.)

On Monday, Don had the day off!  We slept in, made the-tastiest-french-toast-ever, and went on another walk.  Oh, and the other good news from Monday is that Don informed me the French Open has started!! I can't wait to watch some matches.  I love Nadal.  I hope he wins.

Trip to the Aquarium

Finally!  I figured out how to edit our videos with Photoshop!  Which means...I can finally share the amazing videos of our trip to the Aquarium!

I "electrified" this photograph with my newbie editing skills.  The as-seen-below edited version is actually far closer to the true colors than our original photo was!  These fishies were so pretty!

We had to wait in line for quite a while in the cold.  Brr. 

We watched the seals perform for a while.  Honestly, they didn't do much.  Don't tell them they were a wee bit boring.

I loved the cute little penguins.  The little guy on the left looks so stately.  Kings of the Rocks!

Unfortunately for this picture, Don and the penguin in the background look one and the same.  I definitely haven't learned enough Photoshop to edit out the penguin feathers.  Haha, oh well.

Sometimes change is so incremental that we simply don't notice it.  This year, we've set out to capture it.

Tuesdays with Don and Carolyn.

Don was on vacation last week (woohoo!), and I didn't have to work on Tuesday.  So naturally, we turned Tuesday into Saturday and celebrated.

We spent the morning at the Wrentham Outlet Malls, which are particularly fabulous.  They have every store you can imagine.  I was on a mission for key items, (you know, the summer colored jean, tops to go with my lonely skirts...the usual needs), and I accomplished nearly all of my shopping goals.

On our way out to the mall, we were just driving along through the middle of nowhere Massachusetts in search of Wrentham.  All of the sudden, we came out from beneath an underpass, and whoa! Whoa!  As we looked up, there in front of us was the ridiculously humongous and completely overwhelming Gillette Stadium!  It literally popped up from out of nowhere.  And it is a presence!  It is a sight to see.

I have never seen a sports complex so new, so clean, so big, and so cool.  I am serious, we were in semi-awe.  We were in such semi-awe that we made a special detour on our way home to take some pictures.  (We might have also seen a Red Robin, which was the perfect excuse to park at the stadium and stop for lunch.  Yum!)

After our shopping excursions, we came home and went on a long bike ride.  Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures.  :(  But it was fun!

In other news, did you notice Don's cool glasses!?  Haha...he finally got new glasses!! Yay!  We went and picked them out a couple of weeks ago, and they just arrived.

(This was one of our "decision pictures" at the office...you know how that goes.)
