silver lake

We love going on little hikes in the mountains when the weather is nice. Jackson loves it too. We decided to go to Silver Lake in July and we had a great time! We were eating cinnamon bears on the drive there and poor little Jackson had an allergic reaction. He was fine, so we didn't feel bad about laughing! This has happened to me once before too. I was eating a cinnamon bear and my lips started burning and got all puffy. The area around my mouth got red too. Hilarious!

Jackson LOVED Silver Lake and was interested in EVERYTHING! We have been there before but I think it was last summer, so everything was new to him. We saw a lot of ducks at the Lake and even saw a few deer.

It was hard to get him interested in taking pics with us. But that's normal for a 2-year-old, right?!

At least he was willing to give me a kiss!

And at least he was willing to look my way when he was on his Daddy's shoulders.

We had so much fun and are looking forward to next summer when we can go on more hikes in WARM weather!!

random july 2010 pics

How cute are these pictures??? Can you tell that Jackson really likes to help in the kitchen? Haha! With his mosquito bites, candy stuff, and frosting all over his face he is lookin' pretty messy. I love this boy!!

If you're only 2 years old can you have a BFF who is 9 years old? Jackson thinks he can! Jackson thinks Tanner Lunceford is the coolest kid ever. And luckily, Tanner is so sweet and nice and thinks Jackson is pretty cool too. :)

We always find all kinds of things on the window sill of our front window. It's usually Buzz, trucks, or bread (I know, of all things). I thought it was hilarious when I walked in one day and found OLIVES there. Jack was already cleaning them up before I got there. What a good boy.

I swear, there is ALWAYS a mess around my house, and Jackson is usually somewhere close by when it happens! I don't mind most of the time. (Sometimes I do - and I'm sure all the neighbors can hear me when that happens.) Here is my look of frustration after walking into the family room.

Check out his cute face in this next picture. Not the fact that it's completely messy, but look at that SMILE! At least HE is happy, right? I think his favorite part about making messes is getting the broom out to clean it up.

Just takin' a little break to eat some fruit loops while he's cleaning. I don't even want to think about what is in his hair, but I can tell there's something.

Jackson loves going to the Zoo with his buddy, Miles. It's so hard for me to get a picture of them when they're both looking. Aren't they such cute boys? We miss you, Ashton's!

i miss summer

This picture soooooo makes me miss the summer time. It was taken on July 5th. At night time. Notice Hailie and Jackson are both in their pj's? We were leaving Shawn's parents to go home and for some reason Jackson decided to lay his silky on the cement and then snuggle up with his blanket and his cousin, Hailie. It was cute!

But look at how light it is outside.

And it was night time.

And bed time.

And summer time.

I miss it!

jackson hole

Have I ever said how much Shawn and I LOVE Jackson Hole???? I'm pretty sure I have, but I have to say it again. WE LOVE JACKSON HOLE!!!! It is our favorite place ever. Jed and Cyndi invited us to go to The Teton Club with them in July. It was great to go and just chill, relax, eat, and let Jackson get to know his cute cousins (Ella and Rix) a little better. Jackson was a champ and slept almost the whole drive there.

We loved seeing the moose. They are always amazing to watch. I could have sat there for hours. When we first walked down to see the moose, there were tons of people around and it was really quiet. All you could hear were the sounds from everyone's cameras. We were there for almost one minute when our little Jackson waved his hand and yelled out, "Hi, Moose!" It was hilarious! We got a couple grumpy looks but mostly everyone smiled and thought it was cute.

We drove into Teton Park and had our lunch at String Lake. The kids (and Jed) loved throwing rocks into the lake!

It was a little bit overcast for part of the day but aren't those Grand Tetons just amazing???

We had to stop along the way for the kids to see the buffalo. Getting Jackson to smile for the picture was the hard part. :)

We went to "The Jackson Hole Shoot Out" on Saturday night. I've done this ever since I was a little girl and I still love it. Shawn and I were excited to take Jackson for his first time. This is his reaction to the first really loud gun shot we heard!

Isn't that the best picture ever? Hahaha! We love it! Now here he is, anxiously awaiting the next gun shot. They were so loud! We had to prepare him by saying "bang-bang" a lot. After that he wouldn't stop saying "bang".

He couldn't take his eyes off of the craziness of the shoot out!

Leaving the shoot out. The kids had so much fun!

We ended the night at "Mountain High Pizza Pie"! It is a MUST for us to eat there every time we go to Jackson Hole. SO YUMMY!

We didn't go river rafting while we were there and unfortunately didn't make it back again this summer. So, here's to Summer 2011 and lots of rafting!!

jackson's birthday! (better late than never)

I am feeling SO overwhelmed right now. I just got on to update our blog and I thought I only had a few to do - from October and November. But then I realized I never blogged about the summer. I'm not a very good blogger! :) So, here I go. I'm just going to start blogging and hope I can get caught up. It might be lots of pictures and not very many words. But who am I kidding? I love details and can't leave them out .......

JACKSON TURNS TWO!!!
His birthday is July 1st and I did a post on that day but it was mostly just to wish him a Happy Birthday. Here are some pics of his birthday. I just LOVE Jackson's cute hair and face in the morning. He was so excited to open up his little Buzz that day!

We had a small party for him that night. He LOVED seeing some of his family that he loves so much!! He started opening gifts and was pretty excited about the money he got.

But he was totally willing to share with his little cousin and buddy, Parker.

Opening gifts ...

I wanted to surprise Jackson with a cool Buzz Lightyear cake. It turned out alright, but not near as cool as the picture I copied. :) I think he liked it but was concerned about keeping himself AND Buzz from getting all dirty. Haha!

Jackson LOVES all of his family soooooo much. He seriously asks for one or two of them or a whole family every morning. And all throughout the day. It's so great! We're glad he could share his day with some of them.

Eliza is working on a little gift for Jackson that she made herself. Sweet hu? Grace also made a gift for him.

Papa and Granny.

Granny recently had a knee replacement surgery before Jack's birthday. Here he is giving her "owie" a kiss. See the concerned look on his face?

Grandpa and Grandma gave Jack a John Deere tractor. He loved it but had to share with his cousins all night who also loved it! :)

Grace. I wonder what she's thinking???

Grandpa and Grandma.

Grant.

Hailie.

Parker.

Saley.

Great-Grandma Carol and Grandpa.

Bella.

Jackson and the eww-gross-football.

Eliza is so sweet and was helping Jack with his cupcake.

Jackson and Bella. Adorable, eh?!

I want to know what these 3 were laughing at ...

Maybe they were laughing at all the kids enjoying their ice cream and cupcakes!

Daddy and Mommy - worn out after a day of celebrating!

It was all worth it though - to celebrate our little man's 2nd birthday! We love him so much and are so glad he is ours.

PS. If you ask Jackson how old he is, he'll say "two", with the cutest little voice and smile on his face. Thanks to the Doherty's who taught him how to say it when he stayed with them in the Spring. Granny has tried to teach him how to hold up 2 fingers when he says it but mostly he just holds up one. It's still adorable!
