Has America lost its neighborhood cranks?
Not as long as I live there.

Okaloosa man works on Earhart mystery
I would have gone with "Earhart mystery works on Okaloosa man" but whatever.

Science and the Paranormal
Some well-respected scientists were pretty open-minded about it.

Our ancestors got busy with a mystery species
A team of geneticists are claiming they have found DNA evidence which proves the existence of a previously unknown mystery species that lived and interbred with the ancestors of modern humans. A species that may have "lingered in Africa" until about 25,000 years ago. Interesting stuff, especially when another team claims to have similar evidence that Neanderthals reached Asia.

Of course, paleoanthropologists are poo-pooing the whole thing because they haven't found any, well, poo-poo in the fossil record that would indicate such a species.

Bow-chick-a-wow-wow!

Queens Mystery Donor

I still remember watching Charles Bronson in The White Buffalo when I was a kid. Bronson played Wild Bill Hickok (he's completely miscast but come on, it's Charles Bronson) and Will Samson played Crazy Horse. It's one of those films that has a ton of famous names: Kim Novak, Jack Warden, Clint Walker, Slim Pickens, and John Carradine as an undertaker, the role he was born to play.

Police in Arizona are attributing a recent spike in crazy naked men to the use of the designer drug known as bath salts.

Al-Qaida linked fighters destroy 'end of the world' gate in Timbuktu
World cultural body UNESCO was set to create a special fund to protect Mali's heritage on Tuesday after al-Qaida-linked Islamists attacked historic and religious landmarks in the city of Timbuktu for a third day, breaking down the door to a 15th century mosque that -- according to legend -- had to remain shut until the end of the world.
