Room Swap... From office to Boy/Girl shared bedroom

So does anyone remember when my office used to look like this.....

Welll.....
Porter would not sleep in his bed all the way upstairs so we decided to move him downstairs closer to our bedroom.   So I moved my office upstairs into the play room and we got rid of the play room and moved Porter down to the office.  Somehow Zoey ended up wanting to share a room with Porter, soo I had to figure out how to make a good boy/girl shared bedroom.

After many months I finally got it finished.  Here is their bedroom.  Much thanks to mom for making the bedding.

So, I still have a few more finishing touches but for now, they have a room...

Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis Second Try

So I haven't blogged forever and I am hoping no one is reading this.  HAHA.  I need to write my progress down and I sit at a computer all day so I don't really want to write it on paper.  I need to be accountable.  So don't judge me for posting this stuff.

I started TAM again for the second time.  I started it last year and got to 45 days and then we took in newborn twin girls to foster for 2 months.  Soo unfortunately I got no sleep and had no desire to exercise, therefore ate like crap.
Since then I have gone back to running, started crossfit (which I loveeeee)  However, I am not losing any weight.   I have gotten stronger from crossfit but I am not seeing the results I did when I did TAM before.  This makes me really sad because I LOVE crossfit.  Soo, I am going to try to do both even though Tracy says not to do anythign but her program.

Today I started back at Day 1.  Man that leg workout is brutal!!!  I wasn't even able to get all 40 reps of each exercise, which is crazy because doing crossfit is pretty tough and I thought it was in okay shape.

So wish me luck.  I might start the Tracy diet again as well, just to get a jump start but I probably won't do that until next week.

So again, I apologize if anyone is reading this and thinking I'm a complete fool.  BECAUSE I AM..

My Wheat Grass Expirement

Its been way too long..
So I have been up to lots this winter/spring. I got a new calling, I was called as the Relief Society Second Counselor in our ward. This is HUGE for me. It totally caught me off guard. I'm too young right??
Anyways, immediately I was handed the RS Birthday Dinner which was scheduled to be in two weeks. (It went well).
So I wanted to do something cute and fun and different for the centerpieces for the tables. I was doing some searching and with an idea from my mom I decided to try to grow wheat grass..
So first off, a little skeptical I soaked just some hard wheat, the kind you get out of your food storage, the kind you grind to make wheat bread..(crazy huh?) Soaked it in a large bowel overnight and even some the second night. I waited until they were good and soaked, and doubled in size.

Then I have my hubby make some cute little wood boxes. We put some plastic down in the boxes so the water would not leak out as bad. Then I put down large gravel rocks from my drive way and then potting soil. I then just scattered the soaked wheat over the top of the soil, put them on my table where the sun mostly hits during the day and then just waited. I covered them with plastic the first night. Mine did fine but if you start to see mold growing, uncover them.
Also I tried to keep them wet, not so much the soil but the actually wheat, so I used a spray bottle. I was starting to get nervous because it had been 2-3 days and they still were not sprouting. (I was told it would only take 9 days and I had exactly 9 days til the B-day dinner).
Finally they started to sprout little tine sprouts and before I knew it they were grown into grass. It was really amazing. The kids found it very fun as well. So here are the pictures of my growing process.

2nd Day, nothing happening,

3rd Day, see the little tiny sprouts?? There is a larger green sprout in the center. Yay...

4th Day, About the same as day 3 with lots more sprouts.

5th Day, It actually looks likes grass..

6th Day

7Th Day Getting tall but needs to thicken up.

Didn't get a picture of Day 8 But here is Day 9. Not as thick as I wanted it but Today is the day. So I loaded them up and put them on the tables. They looked kind of cool..I was proud!!!

I had some Amazing helpers on my committee for the B-day Dinner, so I gave them all a planter of Wheat Grass. Here is mine that I kept. Looks nice for Spring. When it gets too tall I will try to juice it.

Happy Spring.

PORTER IS 3 (and has bad teeth).

Fall is a busy time for Birthdays for us. Almeda and Porter are in September. We have a little break and then Zoey and Shya have birthdays in November.. If I keep on a roll with my blogging, then heads up for Shya and Zoey birthday posts.
For Porter's Birthday we celebrated it with cousin Haylee in Parma. They have the same birthday and so we just celebrated it together..
This little man is in LOVE with cars, trucks, tractors, fourwheelers, ANYTHING with wheels. He also loves the movie CARS. (what little 2-4 year old boy doesn't?) Out of the 4 out of the 5 presents he got were cars.. They all know he thrives on cars. From mom and dad he got CARS pjs, church clothes, 2 stick horses and a pair of cowboys boots..

Any semi that Po sees on the road or on TV he automatically calls it a MACK..
Grandpa Jeff has a semi and he got to ride in it a couple of weeks ago and he loves to go around telling everyone that he got to ride in Papa's Tractor, his Mack and his fourwheeler..

Birthday Party was Sunday, the previous Monday night Porter comes to me stating that his tooth hurts. I ask him why and he says its broken. Sure enough I look in his mouth and his back molar has broken off a little bit. When we went to the dentist last we were informed that he had some major decay in his back teeth but since he was so young they wanted to wait to work on him, unless he was showing signs of pain. Well signs of pain arrived.

Tuesday he was seen at the dentist and they put him on the gas and got right down to business. They extracted his back molar becasue it was abscessed and filled a cavity in the next molar. Poor little guy..He did so stinkin good though, he just sat in the chair and watched- wait for it......

Yes CARS.....

Exactly 1 week later Monday night little buddy cried most of the night and was in so much pain because his tooth hurt. This time it was the other side. Of course I get him in as soon as possible to the dentist and the little dude has to get the other back molar extracted. He was not as cooperative this time but still did really good. (Better than I would have).. He was crying and fussy when they finally got done with him and do you know what he wanted to do?? Not get the H E double L out of there and go home, but go back out to the waiting room where they had some cars and a MACK..

Almeda May 9th Birthday

Sunday September 11 was Ally's 9th birthday. SAturday Shya had a cross country meet in Nampa so just me an Ally went to watch.
Shya is running middle school cross country and they run 1.9 miles at their meets.

After the meet the cross country team went to Roaring Springs for the rest of the day. Me and Ally went and did some shopping. I also took her to lunch-just me and her. For some reason that is really a cool thing for the kids to go just by themselves..She chose Wingers.. She got an ice cream and a song sang to her..

Nonna sent Ally some money for her birthday and she found a babydoll dressed in a bumblebee that she just had to have. Then at target she found some newborn shirts on clearance for $1.00, so she bought some for her new baby. She is 9 years old and still loves to play babies. She will be a good momma..

Sunday was her actual birthday and we did the church thing, she chose to have sweet potatoes for dinner, and that night we had fruit and ice cream.

Recent Home Projects

I have sooo many ideas and soo many projects that I want to get done. I buy things at yards sales or thrift stores and have these amazing plans for them. I get them home and they sit in my garage because I either loose that ambition, or just don't have time to get it done yet. Even better, I find another project that sounds more fun and exciting to do.
Soo... Hubby told me I have to get the projects done in the garage first before I can buy anything else at a yard sale or thrift store.. (FROWN)...
Okay fine.
First I bought this little cute chair at a yard sale for 5.00 4 years ago, Yes, 4 years..It has sat put away in my garage since then..It even moved with us.. I finally did it...
Here it is.
Before picture- I took off the arms and spray painted the arms and legs black, so the arms aren't in this before picture..

AFTER..

Just to show how tiny and cute this little rocking chair is, here is my model.

Project 2
If you remember a while ago I painted my table and chairs black. I have a hutch that goes with them and I finally got that one done.. I actually swapped with a sis-in-law becase my hutch was too big for my wall and so I switched her for a smaller one..
I decided to go cream instead of black and painted the inside of the hutch green

Project #3

Bought these windows for $5.00 at a yard sale. Had a brilliant idea one night when I could not sleep and decided the next day to do it. I put fabric in some of the windows, then decided I didn't like it as much as I thought I would so they sat in my office stacked up in the closet for 1 year.. Finally put them up..I don't love it, it is not amazing but they are up. Might end up changing it later..

Project #4
Seaside Wall
We got to to Oregon Coast every year for a family vacation and I decided that I needed to do something special with all the pictures we take. I also decided that when I am there I am going to buy something different every year for my "seaside wall".
Made collages of picture from every year. We take a picture in the same spot every year so I always include that in the collage..
I bought a helm at a store for 50% off because it was broken, I glued it back together and painted it to match the colors I wanted for my wall. It was originally a cream, which was the same color as my wall, so that would not have worked at all.
Then a great friend had this stencil she let me borrow and I spontaneously painted my picture wall..It is so AWESOME..(Steve is still getting use to it).

Project#5
Another Chair to Refinish
This chair is new, didn't buy it at a yard sale but the cushion on it is blah...
Before

After (I did this one last night). My reupholstering skills are horrible so don't look too closely if you're at my house..

Project #5
Bought some art at Graples for 50% off, this was more of a project for hubby as he had to get the really tall ladder to hang these..I like them..

Now I have almost finished my projects out in my garage. I only have 3 things left to finish before I have the go ahead to start yard saling again. Unfortunately yard saling season is about over (frown)...

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Shya started 6th grade this year, which in Nyssa is Middle School. She was really excited!! I forgot to take their pictures in front of the door at home and then realized when we got to the school, so of course I whip out my cell phone and embarrass her by taking her first day of school picture out in the parking lot.. (She only agreed if we hid behind the suburban)...

Ally started 3rd grade this year. Her teacher from last year loops so she has the same teacher this year and all the same students. So not much change for her..

Zoey awwww..My sweet little Zoey had strep throat the first day of school so she did not get to go to her first day of Kindergarten.. Luckily we got her on antibiotics she was all better to go the next day..

Sooo I was able to get all the girls in front of the door. Yay for me!!!

Zoey and Porter outside NES.

In Nyssa the Kindergartners go all day every day.. However, this year our district switched over to a 4 day week school so its not all that bad.
They have a tradition in kinder that they start the first few weeks of school off with a color day and they are suppose to wear something that is the color of the day..DUH!!! The first color was red, so Zoey's first day of school we had to find something Red. We only had 1 shirt that was red.. Lucky for that 1 shirt, (and lucky it wasn't stained)..

Zoey and her Teacher Mrs. Forest....
