The Big December Snow Storm

Natalie prayed all year for snow...every day. I'm not kidding, she really did and in every prayer too. Well...there is a God. She had her prayers answered in one lovely snowy storm.

A view of the snow outside our teeny bedroom windows.

Snow angels. Here is doesn't look that deep. This must have been an earlier snow fall?

So what do you do on a snowy day? Play outside, and read inside.

Ready to play. Can anyone say "Poof!"

The perfect fit snowsuit. Thanks Rachel and Claire.

Another angle of the depth and breadth of it all. Winter wonderland is right.

Where's Walsman?

Matt proudly displays our last minute costume for a youth activity at Huntington Mall- "Where's Walsman?" He had a great time running around, hiding from the teenagers, and texting clues for where he was. I will however miss the shirt, that Amelia wore, which we made the hat out of.

Thanksgiving Trip to North Carolina

So good to get away and visit my sister Kathy's new home in Summerfield, NC.
We walked.

We feasted and felt grateful.

We squeezed in a turkey bowl before we left town. It wouldn't be thanksgiving in the Walsman home without watching Matt play. Someday I'll play again too.

My sister. I love her.

The girls with some cousins...Kate and Lauren. We learned how to play Bananagrams while there and had lots of fun relaxing, watching movies, talking, playing baseball outside in the yard, and we visited a great science museum and zoo while there too. We were also fighting sickness, but enjoyed it all. The drive was beautiful.

Discovery with Crayon

When Natalie came to me with this greyish mystery on her face and told me it was crayon, I didn't believe her.

Until I tried it myself, and discovered...yes, black crayon can be used to color human skin. I'm so glad I have kids to teach me things I never knew.

Scripture Power

Natalie is loving Primary at church. Her favorite songs this year were "Scripture Power" and "I am a builder." Grandma Sandberg asked what our favorite scriptures/scripture stories were. Natalie's favorite is the story of Daniel, prayer, and his encounter with Lions.

Amelia is now in Nursery at church. Her favorite story is about Noah, the animals, and the ark.
