Allergies

HELP.....I can't take it any longer. Does anyone have a good allergy medication that they recommend? I'm a Mom so non-drowsy of course. I'm willing to try anything. Having the history that I do, I should have stayed clear away from Memphis- Capital of Allergies. This is the honest truth too. The pollen floats south down the Mississippi River and stops here in good old Memphis. Ahhhhh.......Choo!!! sniff, sniff, wipe, wipe.

2008 YW General Conference

The General YW's conference was perfect. Each speaker did a wonderful job. These were some of my favorite quotes-

Sister Tanner: "They were also armed with with blessings that came from obedience to God's commandments."

Sister Dalton:" Your foundation of faith must be fully centered on Jesus Christ."

Sister Cook: "Decide now what you will and will not do and act on that plan."

Henry B. Eyring: "It is by faith that you can lay hold upon every good thing."

Easter picture 2008

We've been having some computer issues so I'm getting my kids Easter picture up a little late, but wouldn't you say those are some darn good looking kids???? I was very impressed with their pictures. This was their first sitting and first take and it turned out perfect. Thanks Mom for the cute Easter dresses and purses. Those purses go everywhere with us.

Missing my computer....

I never realized how much I NEED the computer. Our computer was down for two days and I feel like I'm so behind in my calling, Carson's school, and my social life (blogging). Thank goodness for technology!

Reese's PB cookies

These cookies are the best. If you like Reese's, which I'm sure most of you do. Then grab a bag of the PB chips and check out the recipe on the back. They are soft, gooey, and oh so yummy!

Some Bunny loves us!

A big thanks to Aunt Natalie, Grandma MaryAnn, Grandma Shauna, and of course the Easter bunny for making this an enjoyable holiday for the kids. Grandma MaryAnn sent us a box filled with fun candies, a singing bunny, and all of our Easter egg dyeing supplies. Natalie sent the kids candy and some cute Easter socks. Grandma Shauna sent their adorable Easter dresses (picture coming soon) and some new spring clothes. We love packages. Thanks to all of you!

Easter Egg Dyeing

Here's the end result of our family Easter egg dying night. Those of you who know my children know why Cara is topless. Two words~accident prone. Dave's Memphis Tiger egg won the dying competition. Yep, he's now a Memphis fan.

My 2 favorite BUYS this week~

My two favorite buys this week. First is the "Smart Ones" chocolate chip cookie dough sundae. These are lifesavers. I'm trying to bring my sugar intake down and these are really good and hit the spot. If you watch your calories or do the point system these are only 3 points and worth it. Of course our second favorite buy this week was the movie "Enchanted". I think my girl's have watched it at least 5 times already. I would say it was worth the $15 dollars. It's great entertainment, has very catchy music, and is family friendly too!

PANTIES....

So panties have been used more than one way at our house this week. It has begun-the potty training of Ryeligh. I would have to say she's done pretty well so far. Only 2 accidents in 2 days. I think that's actually really good. My favorite part of potty training is seeing their little bums in panties for the first time. I love it!! How about that outfit though.
As far as the picture on the left goes~I put Cara's hair in pink spongy curler's for her Easter pictures this morning. Growing up my Mom would put our panties over our curlers to help keep them in place overnight, kind of a homemade hairnet. Cara loved it. She just couldn't get over the fact that she had her panties on her head. Mom, does this bring back memories or what?????
I love Bermuda shorts and have found my favorites for the right price at my local
WAL-MART. These fit right, come in lots of colors, are the right length, and only cost me $9.93 I love that Bermuda's are still in style this season. I was worried that the style wouldn't last long and like most of you, we need the length and that's why these are a good buy. Let's hope this style lasts a long time.

Happy early birhtday to me!

Disney World 2003. We were expecting CaraAnn. I had such bad morning sickness and I can remember just wanting to sit on Main street and sleep. This picture is awful. I can't even believe I'm sharing it. Gotta love those long Polo dresses. Good thing the style has changed.
Here we are in the Spring of 2004. We were expecting Ryleigh this time around. It will be fun to take this picture again with our little Ryleigh in it this time.
For my 30Th Birthday I decided I wanted to take the family and go to Disney World. I know most of you are thinking~the family, Disney? Why not just you and Dave and NYC or San Fran? Yes, that would be great but this is truly what I wanted. It's been about 3 years since our little family went on a vacation so we're ready. We're bummed that our Orlando buddies (Natalie and Matt) can't make it, but there's always next year.
The biggest reason I'm super excited for this trip is that for the first time in 3 Disney World vacations I'm NOT PREGNANT!!! Dave and I have been to Disney World 3 times since we've been married and I've been expecting each time. This time I actually get to ride the rides and enjoy myself without taking constant potty breaks. Our tickets are purchased and we leave April 11Th. We told the kids on Sunday and they're super excited. It's been a great bribing tool the past few days and I hope to use it to my advantage up until we leave.

I've been counting down the days.....

So most of you know I'm a huge fan. I've been counting down the days and tonight is the big premiere of "Dancing With The Stars". I'm a big fan of Julianne Hough but I would love to see her brother Derek do well. I think he deserves it. I'm not crazy about the choice of celebrities but hopefully they will prove me wrong and do really well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Do you have your green on?

Miss. Potter....worth seeing.

I keep meaning to post this, but of course keep forgetting. When I was in Utah a few weeks ago helping my Mom we watched quite a few movies, but I would have to say this was the best. Have you seen this movie? I thought it was adorable. It's the story of Beatrix Potter and her "Peter Rabbit" children's book series. If you haven't seen it, I totally recommend it.

"Say Cheese."

My girls are obsessed with taking pictures right now. They're constantly asking me to "say cheese". This is just kind of a silly shot that we took while playing around. Can you say CLOSEUP????

American Idol-Brooke White

I absolutely loved her performance of "Let It Be". Big applause for Brooke White

Trampolines....Oral Surgeons love em!

Growing up we called the PJ's with feet in them our bunny suits, so I have done the same with my kids. CaraAnn got these ears from the $1 section at Target and came straight home and put her pink bunny suit on. I think she looks pretty cute. Plus to know her- this just totally suits her personality!

You wouldn't know it by this sweet picture of Cara, but she actually spent her evening at the Oral Surgeon getting stitches. She was jumping on the trampoline, took a fall, and ended up biting right through her lower lip. OUCH! You may ask, Why a surgeon? Well in order to keep her lip line straight with the color and lining of her lips, she had to see someone who was a little more hands on in that field. She did great. She should be healed and back to normal in no time. I know reading this right now, all of the grandparents are thinking.....Okay, get rid of the trampoline. But you all should know Dave well enough to know that the trampoline was put up in no time. Gotta love those trampolines.

Hoopty Hoop

Natalie and I both stole this picture from Aaron. I love this picture. I guess I never realized how much we all look alike. Besides my dear hubby and my 3 sweet children~ this is where my heart lies is with my parents, siblings, and Dave's family. I was so blessed to be given 2 wonderful sisters and 2 wonderful brothers. I couldn't ask for any better. So I guess what I would say to this picture is, Thanks Mom and Dad for giving me 4 Best Friends!

Not your typical evening in Memphis

I know all of my Utah folks are so sick of the snow, but we were so excited to get snow. My kids loved it. This was actually Ryleigh's first time seeing snow. It's sounds odd but I think she was actually a little overwhelmed by it. She was touching it like she was a little unsure. After a while though she dove right in just like Cara and Carson.
Carson with his snow girlfriend. This took him and Daddy about an hour to roll. I thought the finished product was pretty darn good.
I love this picture. Cara kept saying her back was freezing. Well yeah...of course it was. Her whole backside was showing.
One thing I learned for sure was that we are so unprepared now for winter weather like this. I was tearing the house apart looking for snow gear. This was the best that I could come up with. My girl's are wearing my scarfs, Wal-Mart gloves, Carson's in Bball pants and Dave and I just made do with what we had. It didn't matter though. We had a great night and were glad to have a little piece of home (UT.) here in Collierville.

Dave's aunt Mickey sent me this email with the title "Check out these pilots". I love this picture because I can just hear the comments coming out of my Dad and Dave's mouths with their opinions on woman pilots. Dave is not sexist but I know he would much rather fly with a male pilot any day. I love this picture though. Whoever said a woman can't do a man's job? I say "You go Girl's"!

Our week so far....in a nutshell!
Last night Ryleigh was so tired and would not go to bed without her apple juice. After giving her 3 cups already I decided if I wanted her teeth to stay in tact then that was going to have to be enough. To make a long story short, she cried for about 30 minutes in front of the refrigerator and this is how the story ended. Little Ryleigh asleep on the kitchen floor.
We had Carson's last basketball game of the season tonight. They lost by 2 points. Carson had a great season. He wasn't on a winning team, but he sure is a big winner in our eyes.
This picture is so funny to me. I walked in the kitchen, secretly spying on Ryleigh and I noticed she had this glass full of odd looking chocolate chunks. Well what it turned out to be was the outside of all of the Oreos she had licked the cream out of. She's definitely my kind of Oreo eater.
I love Gymboree's clothing line and lucky for me so does my Mom and my Mother-in-law. They have great taste. So much so that they both bought my girl's these similar sailor outfits. One in pants and one in capris. Of course it's not Capri time yet so here they are modeling their pants. Works out perfect for me. I love Easter clothing lines because I just love the Nautical look on little girls.
Dave was out of town all last week spending most of his time in Buffalo, New York and Montreal, Canada. As he was doing his walk around he decided to send me an email showing how cold it was. This picture obviously doesn't do it any justice but the temperature in Montreal was -20F. Crazy Cold! Dave's hands were shaking so hard that he could hardly take them out of his pockets long enough to take this picture. Glad I was in Memphis with my 60 degree weather last week.

My Chilihead days...

So I just recently had my friends Jaime and Angie comment on my blog and it brought me back to a really different time in my life filled with some really wonderful memories.

My top ten list of why I stayed on at Chili's for almost 7 years~

10. It was a convenient way of getting my exercise in and making money at the same time.
9. Who could complain about making up to $200 on a Saturday night bar shift?

8. Steve Bell and Steve Law constantly making me laugh so hard. Gosh, I miss those two in a weird sort of way. Where the heck are they?

7. Wedding showers, baby showers, Xmas and Holiday parties, concerts, lunch dates, etc. with some really fun people.

6. Village Inn after a late weekend shift.

5. Standing in the back kitchen watching Elio, Jim, Flo, and other management freak out. I'm just glad it was never towards me. But in some sort of way I loved watching it happen to others.

4. Being in the "weeds". I loved it. I loved every minute of having that constant rush (getting my booty kicked) like I do now when I'm in the middle of a Chilimare now.

3. I truly believe it helped keep me young.

2. The great number of people I met and friends I made along the way.

1. Working with my brother and Sis's was the best part of it. We would have such a great time working together. I think those were some of the best times in my Chili's career.

Book Tag

I was just book tagged by my friend Lacey. This is a fun one.
1. pick up the nearest book (with at least 123 pages)
2. turn to page 123
3. find the 5th sentence
4. post the next 3 sentences
5. tag 5 more people

I am not a reader. I'm too A.D.D. and can't even sit still for more than 2 minutes. I'm doing good just to get my B of M reading in. I love magazines though. So I'm going to cheat a little and turn to page 23 of my People magazine.

It reads: Sarah and George V-day IOU. Despite his hectic schedule, George Clooney always finds time for romance. With the Oscars coming up on Feb. 24, George-whose film Michael Clayton nabbed multiple nominations-has been plenty busy. But that didn't stop him from surprising girlfriend Sarah Larson on Valentine's Day.

WOW, that was some good reading. Gotta love those celeb tell-alls!
I tag~ Heidi S., Lori H., Jaime B., Angie B., and my two sis's. Good luck.
