Last Day in the 3rd Ward

We had been thinking of looking for a new home for over a year. Then seriously looking for about 6 months. Then actively looking with a realtor 2 times a week for 2 months.
When we finally found "the house", things moved really quick.
Our last day in the 3rd ward, most people were learning that we were moving for the first time that day. I was totally fine and excited about the prospects of our future ward until I saw and talked to Lucas' teacher. As soon as I saw Jill and her tears, I lost it.
Jill and I became friends when I served with her in Young Women's 7 years ago.
She's been a dear friend ever since.
Jill has been teaching Lucas' primary class for 1.5 years and he loves her.
They always had a special connection. It must have been the red hair, right Jill?
Anyway, it broke my heart to see her so sad that we were leaving and that she couldn't "watch Lucas grow up!" Thank goodness for blogs... because now she still can from a far! :)

jesus wants me for a sunbeam

At the beginning of the year, Lucas started primary. To my huge surprise... he did great!
He loves primary.
These pictures were taken on his very first day.

His teachers tell me he is the best behaved in the class... but very quiet.
(as in, won't speak at all)
One of the members of the primary presidency even told me that Lucas is topping her list of favorite primary children. She says he just sits there "soaking" it all in.

He says his favorite part is singing and the stories.
He says his favorite song is "Scripture Power"

This blue Book of Mormon is Luke's very own.
If they kids bring a Book of Mormon to primary, they get to put a chocolate chip in the jar. Once the jar is full, the primary president will make the kids chocolate chip cookies!
This idea makes Luke very excited.
I am 100% sure Luke will never turn down a chocolate chip cookie...
He never forgets his Book of Mormon.

This is just a random picture... Luke found my "first walkman" the other day. He thinks it's a camera. I am not sure why, but he takes "pictures" with it all the time.

We are very proud of this little boy.
Here's to many years of primary to come!

Do you think Lucas enjoyed the dessert for our Super Bowl Sunday extravaganza?

Mint Chocolate Chip and Oreo pie... complete with homemade hot fudge. Delish!
