What a day!

So you know God is good, right? But what do we do when he is GREAT? Shout about it from the rooftops, tell everyone who will listen, or for the stay at home moms, blog about it!

Today we have received good news after good news about our house. Yes, we can close early on the 21st. Yes, they will give us plenty of money for a dishwasher. Yes, they will have the A/C checked out. Now this is where it gets GREAT. The A/C was checked this morning and, we never expected, was deemed 'unacceptable and unusable'. Leaking freon, dirty, 22 years old. And, guess what God decides to do about it? Potentially, get us a whole new system for free!! My heart is racing just thinking about it!

Here are some photos from the MLS listing. Of course, I will post before and afters after we move in and get our hands dirty. Really, really dirty. This is half of the formal area, which I'll be making into a playroom. I'm looking forward to hosting a playgroup!Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms.Sadly, the fridge does not come with the house. The living room just off the dining room. The house also has a great deck outback I'll have to post pics of.

THOSE people

Friday I missed surburbia. I realized, after my mom and my sister reminded me, that I needed to take a picture of Ethan in his costume. We had plans to have dinner and play Settlers at a friend's house, which wasn't going to afford the right photo op. Starting at 9am, I frantically tried to find a place to take his first ever Halloween photo. I called a couple of Pumpkin Patches at churches, only to be told they are closed because they sold all their pumpkins. Ok....

Next, I put Ethan in the car and drove around looking for a church that might have a cute display out front and was willing to be THAT person who drags her baby out of the car, snaps the photo, then loads back up. I just needed a backdrop! Well, I couldn't find anything and Ethan was getting pretty fussy at this point. He still hates car rides for the most part.

I called Phil panicking. I mean, there is only so much daylight ya know! And then, I realized, where do they have big, beautiful fall displays? Outside grocery stores of course. Then, I shuddered at the thought of being THOSE people that actually use the store display for a photo op. Humiliating.

By 5pm I was desperate. Phil was willing to leave his Halloween party a bit early to help. I was on my way to pick him up when I saw the sun was setting fast and I was stuck in MoPac traffic. I was almost to the Whole Foods downtown when I caved. Yes, I would become THAT mother. I pulled into the parking garage, got Ethan out, met up with Phil and...got into line with the other parents doing the exact same thing!! Ok, so now I don't miss surburbia that much...Thank you Whole Foods! You have a marvelous display! We might make this a tradition!
