Feed the Ducks

There nothing like feeding the ducks...even us grown-ups enjoyed it. Kendall and Kaden have so much fun. Kendall had an entire bag of smoked cheddar popcorn and Kaden had the bread. They were both eating the duck's food...some for the ducks, then some for them.
It's a good thing the duck food wasn't moldy.

Here's Lookin' at You Kid

Kaden was sitting on my lap in the car while we were waiting for Shane to get out of Urgent Care. I had to snap this pictures...he just looked super cute.
Shane's hurt his knee while playing basketball...Turns out he tore his ACL. Ouch!

Dinner, Skating, and Shopping

The last Saturday (1/9) of Shane's winter break, Shane had a great idea to take Kendall roller skating. We made it a whole evening of family fun. Kendall was super excited to get her skates on. She had a blast. Kaden also enjoyed running around.
(Side note of the evening: We paid for 2 skate rentals for Kendall and Shane. They ended up not having size 16 skates for Shane, so he tried squeezing his big feet into a size 14...too painful to skate. Therefore, we got our money back for both!!! While Shane was shoving his feet into his skates, I took Kendall out for a spin in her skates. Then her daddy joined us. It was just enough time for a 2-year old to roller skate).

Next up... Dinner at the Olive Garden. We have never taken our kids here, but it turns out to be a perfect place to take kids. Good kid friendly food. Kaden thoroughly enjoyed himself. You could say he was in his glory!

...and Kendall loved the salad!

^FYI to all you rumor-starters out there...That is NOT wine Shane's wine glass...it's Kendall's!^

Next stop... Target! Love that place! We met Shane's Aunt Sandy there and spent time hanging out in the toy section. Kaden and Kendall were so cute walking through the store holding hands.

Our Little Monkeys

These little monkeys LOVE their bananas! It's a must have for breakfast.

The other day, I went shopping with Kaden. He saw the bananas in the cart and wanted one BAD. In fact...he was pretty much freaking out. If it wasn't for the fact that they needed to be weighed, his little monkey butt would have had one to save me from that scene he was causing!

"Morning Tay-den"

We hear those words every morning out of Kendall's mouth. She loves to greet her little brother when he wakes up. Kaden always wakes up with the best looking bed-head. I love it!!!

11 Months {Kaden} (Jan. 5)

At 11 months, Kaden:
  • weighs too much to carry for long periods of time
  • walks everywhere (it's a good thing!)
  • puts his hand out when asked where something is
  • says 'cracker' (just the hard consonant sounds)
  • loves any kind of sports ball
  • loves to go outside and gets upset if he misses an opportunity
  • thinks running away from us is super funny
  • loves to put the top on water bottles
  • is so super cute...we just can't stand it!

Singin' in the Rain

Kendall decided that she wanted to go outside in the rain. I told her that she need to get warm clothes on, so she went in her room and pulled out clothing items for me to put on her. She grab the umbrella and out the door she went!
It was super cute to see her enjoying the rain hitting her umbrella. She looked adorable...I couldn't resist taking some pictures.

Road Trip and Christmas Break

Shane has 3 weeks off work and I have 2 weeks. We decided to hit the road on December 18th and head to Arizona for the holidays. The kids traveled amazingly well. We turned Kaden around (6 week early), forward facing, for the occasion and he loved his new view. Kendall was pretty content with her DVD play and her Barbie movies.

The totally trip is 12 hours. We decided to break up the journey, so we spent the night at Holly and Stephen Eller's home. Of course, no pictures to prove it...but we had a great time with their family. Non stop laughter and good times!

The following day (Dec. 19th) we headed out towards my parents new house. They all thought we were coming in on Monday, but we surprised them and showed up for Sunday dinner.

We didn't do too much while we were there except hang out and enjoyed our time together. I was sick for the first couple of days and the last couple of days of our trip, but other than that everything was perfect.

My camera's battery died after taking the picture below on Christmas Eve. But I'm glad I captured that photo. Every year my dad spend all day cooking our yummy seafood dinner. Here he is making his original classic dish "Shrimp alla Nicole".

While we were there we celebrated Nick's 31st birthday.
