The Mighty M Family

Hi, this is Eli.  Since about all I can say out loud is “mommy, daddy, YEAH-YEAH, kitty, and yum” I asked my mom to translate a little note for you. This is me a loooong time ago.  Like, 2008.  And here I am on my first Halloween: Cute, huh? Anyways, my mom said people are getting tired of HER asking everybody to vote for my picture .  So she thought maybe I could butter you all up.  You see, today is the LAST DAY you can vote for my picture (#7 Egg Dipping at the M House). We have had a lot of support and my mom is so thankful!  But if we could get as many more votes as possible today my picture just could win! I had a pretty good start to my week.  Back to the routine, getting up early, working out, catching up on blogs, etc. Everything was derailed around 3:30 on Tuesday when I came down with the dreaded stomach bug my son had over the weekend. And again, I have found myself reminded of 2 things: 1)  I do not like being sick. 2) If your daughter says she feels sick to her stomach, GET HER TO THE BATHROOM . For, 2 hours after mom started feeling nauseated, darling daughter Hannah started complaining of the same symptoms.  Thinking she was "copying" me I kind of just ignored her and had put her in the car with dad and Eli to head out for some dinner which I was in no mood to be around.  2 minutes later we are cleaning the car. Again. For Eli did the same thing on Friday. My car doesn't smell so fresh right now. But, thankfully we are feeling about 100% today.  Let the "catching up" begin! Today a certain someone got to color eggs for the first time. Today a certain someone has orange hands.  What did you do Today ?

Alternatively titled: You know you need to clean your windows, when… --------- I was trying to use this picture for my “ Winter ” photo submission on Manic Mother : Why?  Because she has snowmen on her shirt of course.  That is very wintery!  I took the picture with my manual setting, but I wish it had turned out a little bit “sharper”.  Photoshop didn’t help much either.  I’ll try to do better next time.  My camera and I are still getting to know each other.  It’s been a year now, I should probably move on to the next stage of our relationship.  Something I need to, ahem, focus on.  Of course within 10 minutes of the above pictures Hannah was ready to move on to another outfit. Her third change of the day, not including jammies.  It was 10 AM!

I won a scarf! Thanks to  Erica at 5 Moms and a Blog for posting the contest, I was the lucky, randomly generated winner!!  I love seeing my name in that random.org box. Anyway, took a few pictures of my prize with my favorite models: The scarf couldn’t have arrived at a better time – it’s FREEZING outside! Happy Monday to all of you!

The grade: 6th.  Okay.  Here goes.  I think the earrings really make this ensemble pop. I can remember shopping with my mom and WANTING her to buy me this shirt! So I saw that 5 Minutes for Mom is having a silly kids photo contest. I just had to enter! I have published this one recently , but I am using it again. It’s just so…… Silly.

I don’t enter a lot of blog contests.  If I have time, sure.  If it’s something I really want, sure. If it’s easy as heck to enter, absolutely!  So, when Lucy at A Modern Day Ricky and Lucy posted that she was going to give away some of her favorite things and all we had to do was leave a comment, I thought “no-brainer”.  I left a comment.  I can guess you know what’s next…. Yep!  I won!! And now I have some new “favorites” of my own. The kids and I were totally rocking out to that 80’s cd last night. Okay, it was all me.  The kids just played along.
