Animal Projects

Not my favorite kindergarten tradition but we made it more fun this year. Everyone got involved. Mommy made/sampled the rice crispy treats and Daddy assisted in the replica making. McKenna chose to do her report on giraffes, Brynlee chose panda bears, and Raigynn chose a puppy. The girls did a little research about their chosen animal, drew some pictures, and then created a replica using rice crispies. They all did awesome and we all learned a few bits of random info about giraffes and panda bears. For instance giraffes can drink 4 gallons of water at one time. Might have been able to live without that piece of info but ya never know!

Valentines Day 2011

Valentines this year was so much fun. Daddy brought home roses for all of his girls. I love to get roses. I know some women think its a waste of $ but I love it. They sit on my counter top for a week and just make me smile every time I walk by. Plus its once a year so indulge me a little!
We also had an excellent candlelight dinner and told each other what we loved about one another. It was a special time for us to hear the girls explain what they love about each one of their sisters.
The best part of the evening was our dance! We decorated our house with white Christmas lights and danced the night away listening to some of our favorite songs. We also played follow the leader with different dance moves.... (anyone remember last years ward party?) Hopefully by next year we can learn a few more dance moves. Twirling over and over gets a little tiresome :)

Valentine Scavengar Hunt

McKenna was concerned that because she wouldn't be able to exchange valentines with school friends that it would be a boring day. I tried very hard to prove her wrong! I think I was even successful! Here she is on part of her scavenger hunt that Mike wrote to help her find her valentine. She was pure smiles the ENTIRE time and even commented at the end of the day that" This is the best Valentines Day of my life". Phew!

"When you're tired and worn amd must lay down your head just run upstairs and I'm on your bed"

"After playing all day in the sun. Just turn me on to get clean and have fun"

"When after your meal and you've saved some for lunch I"ll warm up your leftovers with one little punch"

"When your tummy is grumbling and wants something to eat just open me up to find a small treat"

"On Sunday a new teacher a lesson did give for your ultimate prize you must go where he lives"

Love; Its In the Air

Had to start this blog out with my #1 love. My Man. Ahhhhh which random things should I share? The fact that He tucks in his jammie shirts, how excited He gets when winning at anything, His cold nose when He kisses me goodbye in the morning, His smile when the girls practically run Him over when he opens the door,His support, His determination, His testimony, I could go on but I will spare you all.

I never thought I would love Motherhood as much as I do. Nor could I have for seen how important my role as a Mother would mean to me. I cherish the title and am so grateful to be able to have such a sacred responsibility.

My girls. McKenna- love her desires and her thoughtfulness. I love seeing her learn and watching her grow. Brynlee- her caring nature and her spontaneity. I love watching her explore new things and find her own talents. Raigynn- her spunk and strong will. I know she is gonna need it as she grows up in this world ( I have to remind myself of that quite often). Holland- her snuggles, laughter, and her fascination with everything. I am loving every minute of her being my baby.

I have been reading alot about healthy eating and all the benefits. I am fascinated how everything in nature works to bless our physical bodies. Seriously it is so cool. It strengthens my testimony that we have a loving Heavenly Father who gave us our bodies to enjoy and to do great things with!

Much to the dismay of my Husband (not to mention opposite of my above "love")I LOVE carbonation. I can blame this on on my Grandpa and Grandma. Each time I got done cleaning their neighbors house for an after school job I went to their house and had a "Pepi" with them. Something about those bubbles makes me smile.

Also making the list;
basketball, laughter, scriptures, quiet time, running, Mom, Dad, texting, shopping, sisters, church calling, friends, Hobby Lobby, challenges, brothers, lotion, decorating, teaching, girls nights, talking, Temples, date nights, grocery shopping alone, volleyball, makeup, Oshkosh, ribbons, extended family, memories, hugs and kisses, Biggest Loser, hot showers.

Happy Valentines Day!

Girls Only Reading Party

Lets be real for a sec. Everything we do during the day is "girls only"! After Daddy comes home it becomes a "girls only with Daddy". Moving right along.

McKenna loves to have an excuse to throw a party. Not sure where she gets that from :) So to liven things up a bit in this cooold weather we decided to host a reading party for all the little girls living close. We asked everyone to bring a favorite book, a stuffed animal,a blanket, and have their jammies on. McKenna and Brynlee wrote and delivered the invites and Raigynn helped decorate. We provided some popcorn and other goodies and let the girls have some fun. For the first 15 minutes or so McKenna read them a book and then each of the girls snuggled in with their own books. Before long all the girls were running around squealing with delight. I am sure high from reading their inspiring stories and not from all the sugar that was just pumped into them! Oh well its was a party ... RIGHT?

If ya noticed this wall in the kitchen is now goldish-yellow. Okay FINE its YELLOW with little to no goldish tint to it. Whatever. Long post about that hair-pulling, voice raising, budget bursting, process coming soon!
