So last night we went to Jaxon's baseball game. Yes, that meant that it was not snowing! I had to check out where G's accident occurred and to my surprise it wasn't even 10 ft into the park. I still don't understand how it happened. Oh, well Grif is healing nicely although he is going to have a nasty scar.
I was so happy to be able to watch Jax play. His first up to bat he struck out but was walked the second time and he was so proud to score a run. The sky was darkening and I knew that the game was coming to an end. Jax was in the dugout and I was ready to go home. But then next thing I noticed Jax was back out in the out field. A play or two later a pop fly was headed right towards him (in very slow motion it seemed) and he caught it. Crazy mom screaming on the bench. The look on Jaxon's face was absolutely priceless - I wish I had a picture. He was so shocked that it was in his mitt and it almost seemed like he wasn't quite sure what to do next. I am pretty sure that someone told him to throw it to third and I was thinking no don't do that you might over throw it. But to everyone surprise they made a double play and ended the game. Not a bad way to end his second game playing in the Minor's. Oh and he got the MVP award for the game. That was a great boost for his self esteem.

Our next Emergencies
A long, long story of our next crazy emergency. It all began with the night of Jaxon's first baseball game. I was so excited that the weather had cleared enough that they could play. We were running a little behind time since we were feeding 3 families and coordinating so many schedules.I dropped Jax off and told him I would be back to watch his game. I ran back and got all the kids fed and headed them out the door so we could get back to the ball field. I had all my cute nephews and niece with me and I thought we were doing pretty good. WRONG!!! Somehow Grif had found a stick and tripped with it before we were even 100 feet into the the grass near the ball fields.
I didn't know how bad it was right away. I knew there was a lot of blood but I got everyone over to the bleachers so I didn't lose anyone in the process. there I checked out his arm and right away I knew we would need stitches. We were a block from the urgent care so I thought I would head there, but I ultimately knew we would be at the Children's Hospital again. I left all the kids at the ball field with the other team parents and headed off with grif. I really didn't panic but I just kept thinking WHY? We joke about putting the boys in protective bubbles but if we could actually do it I might really give it a try.

At the Urgent Care when we checked out his injury we could see that it was all the way down to his tendons in his wrist. So off I went to the ER. It is sad to say that we know the nursing staff there and they know us. We even had our same room that we had last time.
It took over 4 hours to get him stitched back up. He had to have x-rays done to make sure the stick hadn't done other damage or left anything behind. We also had to do testing to make sure he didn't have any tendon or nerve damage and then there was the complication of getting the skin to meet up since he took such a big hunk out.
One of the cute moments of the Emergency was Grif insisting that he did not need any more "Shocks". To him they are not shots they are shocks and I have to agree with him there. No matter how much you prepare it is always a shock to get poked with a needle. He growled a little bit at the Dr. as he repeatedly gave him a whole lot of "Shocks" in his little wound. Poor BRAVE little man!
Grif has been there so many times that he knows what he wants and how to get it. So he told them right away that he was expecting a puppy and a Slurpee. Of course he got them because once again he let them stitch him up without any sedation. Should I be worried that he is so calm and relaxed in the Emergency Room?
Could it actually get worse?! Yes, yes it could. Three days later we were supposed to be going skiing when I got a phone call from the State Health Department. They were just calling to inform us that we had been exposed to the measles. While we were checking in at the ER we were exposed to the virus. Because of the exposure we had to get a shot ASAP to help prevent us from getting the measles.
This young man had not been vaccinated and this has caused an outbreak and sent panic throughout the community. Those others who have been exposed and have not been vaccinated and are now at extreme risk of contracting the highly contagious disease.
Grrrrr! I always worry about picking up some nasty germs at the ER but this was an unexpected upset to our already crazy week. The good news is that hopefully we will have prevented our little family from getting the measles. Grif and I survived our "Shocks" and proceed forward to our next week of adventures.

Cousin Devin's Spring Break
Devin came to stay for his Spring Break. He and his family came to go skiing BUT Devin didn't really want to leave the boys even to go skiing. So daddy and uncle Todd went without him. Devin's excuse was that he needed to help me with Grifin. It's fun to feel so loved.
We had a busy week. We went sledding and had a really great time. I thought maybe we would go for an hour, but three and a half hours later we came home soaking wet and exhausted. We all had a good laugh. I haven't seen Elena laugh and smile so much in a long time.

One Day we went to 3 different candy factories. You would think that the boys would be in heaven but by the 3rd one they were exhausted and hungry. We thought! My boys never ate their burgers so maybe they were just exhausted. Christina and I wanted to go to our last stop just for fun. There was a show called Little Choclatiers that we both watched and thought it would be fun to go to their shop. It was fun because we got to meet Katie while we were there.
We had so many fun busy days with a lot of adventures! Another really fun day was heading up to Hill Air Force Base to see all the amazing aircraft they have in the museum there. There a lot of amazing planes but Grif was so cute I forgot to take pictures of much else. The boys got lost in the world of aviation. Jaron had such agreat time dressing up too. Jaxon and I learned about gyroscopes and the role they have in an aircraft.

We also went skiing and talked Devin into going one last time since Jax was going too. Sadly I didn't get any pictures of Jax's first time skiing but we will just have to go again. Of course it was an adventure because that is the only way we do things around here. We got up to the hill and found out Jaxon's coat would not zip up anymore. It was snowing a lot and he was getting more nervous by the minute but he finally road the ski lift up and ended up having a great time. We got up to the Mountain very late because of a strange emergency I will explain in the next post. I forget every year how much I really do love to go skiing. The powder was amazing!
Finally we came to our last night and Devin was not going to let his parents talk him into staying at Grandma's instead of our house. He and the boys woke up early so they could play Rock Band before he went home. It ended up being about 11 before they finally got on the road. The whole trip he talked about moving here and staying here and what he would do if he changed to the boys school. He also started calling our house his house and home. It was crazy having 4 boys in our scrunchy house but they made so many memories through all of our adventures. They shared beds, germs and sicknesses as well as a lot of laughs and fun.

Spring Break
Our Spring Break was filled with Snow, Sickness and Sleepovers. Daddy did get to take a day off and go to the zoo with us. It was a beautiful day and we had a wonderful time watching all the animals enjoying the Spring weather. This time the elephants were happy. The baby was rolling in the mud and the mama was throwing dirt on herself too. We found out later they were just putting on their sunscreen.

We did have lots of baseball practice to keep us busy too. Jaxon and Jake had a great time with their sleepovers. Jake slept over at our house two nights and Jaxon finally talked him into one at his house. He just loves sleeping over here because Grif and Jar are here too. I thought they would get sick of each other but apparently not yet.

Jax's Jr Jazz Team

What a fun Jr Jazz season we had. Jax improved and got a little better each game. He still has a little more confidence than talent but I think that will come. His problem is he thinks he is already an NBA star and loves trick shots. I guess we better get a hoop so he can practice the fundamental shots.
Ryley Sleeps Over
So it's sad to say that the boys love it when Grandma and Grandpa go on vacation. We miss them but the boys LOVE having Ryley sleep over. She is just part of the family now. I thought I lost her for about 30 seconds when I couldn't find her in the middle of the pile of stuffed animals. She gets about 3 walks a day (one for each boy) and lots of love.

The Zoo
I love the zoo, you never know what you are going to see. We first got to hear a kuckabura sing and then saw a peacock strut it stuff. Always an adventure to be found.

So Grif couldn't stay out of the pictures. Jax and Jake wanted to show off their strength and prowess and there in the back Grif showed up in the back with his arms fold leaning back. These pictures just make me chuckle every time I look at them. Always the comedian of the bunch.

"Hey are you taking a picture?"

"Not another picture without me!" (look at the very corner you can see Grif running to get back in the picture)

FINALLY! We get to meet the baby elephant. Last time we came it was too cold for her to be out. Jar and Grif could have gone home happy after seeing her.

Nice picture taking Jax - Either someone's head or something else was cut off. We'll work on that at least we can see the baby elephant.

Choo-Choo, can't go to the zoo without a trip around the zoo.

Celebrate!
Disney on Ice again! We always have fun when we get to go but it wasn't the best story they have had. The best part of the whole night was watching Grif. He was hilarious!! He cheered and danced, sang and screamed. I found myself watching him mmost of the time just seeing his funny reactions.
The guys at work were making fun of each other for going. One of the guys piped up and said, "I will go anytime Grif goes, he is the best part of the show!"
Who can resist seeing Captain Hook and Buzz LIghtyear?!
Spring?! Not quite yet.
I was not happy to wake up to find another 10 inch snow storm had hit. After shoveling three driveways that day I was being really ticked off about the snow. It was a beautiful day though so I decided I would just stand and watch the boys so they could go sledding for a few minutes.

That few minutes turned into over 2 hours of fun. Grif didn't want to go by himself so mommy got to go with him. We laughed and laughed. There were mud spots that would change your direction and shoot you off into a completely different direction. By the end of the fun Grif was flying down the hill on his own. I won't tell you that Grif and I knocked down the only other adult on the hill and then successfully scared them off. It really was an accident.

We were having such a good time I didn't know how we were going to get everyone off the hill. It only took won small incident to gather everyone up to go. There were too many kids doing their own thing by the end so we decided to leave the chaos when our friend got run over and got a little snow burn on her face. Nothing serious but it was just enough to get the boys attention to walk her home.

School Programs
The boys both had their school programs this month. They have been working so hard on their songs and it was so fun to see them singing and smiling and having such a great time.
Unfortunately, you should generally charge a camera if you want to use it. SO I didn't get much from Jax's program. But I have to say that when they sang the national Anthem I had tears in my eyes. I couldn't even sing with them when we were supposed to join them. What a sight it was to see these beautiful children singing with such pure voices. I truly am grateful for our freedom and for all we are blessed with living in a free country. Life may not be perfect but we are a blessed nation. I am so grateful to all who serve to protect our freedom and serve our country.
Anyway, their program was awesome, and might I say just a little too short.

Jaron could hardly wait for his program. He got to wear a leather jacket and paly the guitar in Rockin' Robin. he asked everyday for three weeks if his program was there yet. We got there early so we could sit on the front row like he requested. BUT then I sat on the wrong side of the gym. Even if I try to be prepared I don't usually win.

The kids were so excited and were so cute! We learned all about living things from them. Who knew all the body parts of a spider, everyone does now, to the tune of head, shoulders, knees and toes.

Funny things...
The boys say the funniest things all of the time and I never remember them. So I am going to try and put them down every once in a while. Grif has always been the family comedian but we couldn't really ever understand him until he had his surgery and his speech.
So this morning Grif was getting ready for school. He was so excited for his Royal Feast he was going to have. But even more exciting was the thought of having his friends from school over to jump on the trampoline. " I have a a tramp it's like jello, boingy, boingy, boingy. My friends are going to come jump with me on my tramp like jello. Boingy, boingy, boingy!"
"Stop!! You going to stop in that muddle!" says Grif Saving the day.

The imagination of these two also makes us laugh. Who knows who they are going to be- Buzz, Woody, Darth Vader, Peter Pan, Captain Hook and a Ninja or two, are often visitors to our home. Oh, the life with our three cute boys.
So one of the funniest things from Jaron is what he calls McDonalds. When we go out we go there more frequently since I know that the buns do not have milk in them. So he asks if we can go to "Old McDonalds". I guess it all starts at the farm anyway.

Head vs. Wall
So which is harder? Wall or head? Grifin is working on proving that he has a really hard head. He usually runs into something every day. But things are getting a little out of hand when his head decided to remodel the wall.

He was just checking out his new shoes as he was running to tell daddy goodbye before his field trip. Thank goodness we didn't have to get stitches but his Goose Egg made Fred Flinstone jealous.
