Kennedy's Friend Christmas Party

Kennedy wanted to have a Friend Christmas Party, and then decided to have everyone wear a UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER!!! They played bunco, ate pizza and snacks, it was so much fun. They needed 4 more to play bunco so she asked 3 of our friends and I to play . After playing we had hot chocolate, candy cane ice cream w/ a ginger bread man cookie (i know what a crazy combo ) Then they played the gift exchange game and then just hung out. I was going through some pictures of last Christmas and thought that it would be fun to put them on our blog, since it was Hudson's 1st Christmas, Kennedy took this cute picture of Hudson in the car on our way to my parents house for breakfast, I didn't even know that she was taking pictures. Hudson & Cru.... Lets go hunting

Hudson & Cru were out on the deck at my parents house playing with the dogs ,Cru had the gun ( a toy one of course ) and Cru said that they were going to go hunting and shoot birds. I guess that Hudson watches me clean, because he went and got the squeegee and went over to the window and started to clean it. Every time I have out the window cleaner ( which is ALL of the time ) Hudson is right there with me wanting to help. Some day it will make his wife very happy that he likes to clean !!!!!!!!

This is Kennedy and one of her very best friends, Kayla. We just love Kayla , she came with us on a little vacation this summer to St.George & Las Vegas ( Kayla had never been to Vegas ) it was fun to have her with us. She is like our other daughter. I hope that you two will always stay friends :)

My 1st real look at Hudson, so thankful that he was ok !
Sorry that this post is so long , but I had to get this all down so that we would always remember, this blog is my journal/scrapbook.

Hudson Kole Sanders was born on Sept. 11,2007 at 10:13 pm. Two weeks before that my Mid Wife Machel Knowles had noticed that Hudson was about a week and a half behind where he should be at that stage, so she said that she wanted me to be on bed rest. Than I had to go over to the Hospital to have a non stress test done and a ultrasound with a tech, they said that It looked like the umbilical cord only had two vessels instead of three. The Dr. over at perinatalogy made it sound like it was no big deal for me to be on bed rest and at my Dr.s office they were over reacting, but I just had a strong feeling to do as Machel had told me to do. She now wanted to see me two times a week to see how everything was going. So I went another time to get a non stress test done on a Sunday and Hudson was under no stress and on that tue. night at 6:00pm we went to my appo. Kennedy was mad and didn't want to come, but we were going to go out to dinner one last time before I had the baby, so she came ( in her glasses, and a sweat out fit ) . Well Michel did another ultrasound and when she was looking and listening to the flow of the umbilical cord her mood suddenly changed and she asked us if we had scheduled to go to the hospital on thur. or Friday and we were not sure if she had called them so she said that she would go and look at her scheduled. A few minutes went by and she came back into the room and said, "I need you to go over to the Hospital tonight to have this baby, the flow is really low and he is about 31/2 weeks behind where he should be", I just stared crying and asked if I could go home and get my stuff and she said nope you go over there now and have someone bring you your things. I said to her that I didn't want to have him that night because it was Sep. 11th and she said that I was only dilated to a 2 + and would not be having him till the next morning. . I was 361/2 weeks and they really wanted to get me to at least 37, but that was not going to happen. So we went over to the hospital, they got me all checked in and hooked up to all of the monitors and my Mom and sisters we going to be coming up to be with us. I had called and asked Natalie and Ashley if they could stop at my house and grab my stuff, so when they got there they called and I was in the middle of telling Natalie what to finish putting in my bag and the nurse came in and said " I am so sorry to have to interrupt you when you are on the phone but I need to talk to you, Machel was out at the nurses station and watching the baby's heart rate and every time you have a contraction his heart rate drops way down so we are going to have to do an emergency c-section. Wow I couldn't believe it, things had just gone from bad to worse, I was so scared, I just started crying again, I had wanted him for so long and now I didn't know if he was going to be ok or not. That is such an awful feeling knowing that there was nothing that I could do for my baby. So they said that everything was going to seem like it was happening really fast ( and it did ) but it was all going to be ok. So they were getting Kevin and I ready to go into the operating room and I looked over and there is poor Kennedy sitting on the couch just crying, not knowing what was really going on with her Mom and brother. My Mom and sisters were not there yet so as they were willing me out of the room I asked if Kennedy could come with us because I didn't want her to be by herself, but they said no, and then I started crying harder, I had never felt like that before, I had to leave one child alone crying so that we could take care of the other. So my Mom and sister Heather got there and was with Kennedy and thank goodness they got there when they did because we didn't have our camera, my other two sisters were bringing it, but my Mom had hers ( but it needed new batteries, so the nurses were trying to find some for us). And they got us some that worked, I am so glad. Then it was only like 15 min. and then Hudson was delivered. They hurried and took him into the next room to look him over and make sure that he was ok, Kevin looked at me and didn't know if he should stay with me or go in with Hudson, I told him to go in with the baby and to come and tell me if he was alright. They got done with me and wheeled me into the room to see Hudson and they said that he was perfect. You can't even know what a wonderful feeling that was. He was 4lbs. 2 oz. and 17 1/2 inches long, he was so very tiny, but I was so glad that he was ok. He didn't have to go into the ICU or anything, we got to keep him in our room the entire time. Kevin said that he was our baby and that he would stay with us and we would take care of him, Kevin had to do most of it because it was hard for me to get out of bed, but he loved every minute of it. Later they told us that if we had not delivered him that night we would have lost him, ( within about 8 hours ), His umbilical cord was like the one of a still born baby and was already falling off of him. I am so very thankful every day for my wonderful Dr. if it wasn't for her watching every little thing so closely we could have lost him. Now he is a spunky little one year old and is loved by everyone who meets him. Right after he was born.

Hard at work !!!!!

The day that we got home from Hawaii it was driving Kevin crazy that it had been almost 2 weeks that the lawn had been mowed, and Hudson LOVES to go out with his Dad and mow, well I guess that it is hard work because he feel asleep. How cute, I love you buggy. ( do you just love the portable toilet in the back ground, i called and it should be moved soon )

Halloween Breakfast

I made the kids some pumpkin looking pancakes for Halloween , I put food coloring in the batter, chocolate chips for the eyes and mouth, candy corn for the nose, and a sausage for the stem. Kennedy thinks that i'm just silly, Kayla took a picture of it and sent it to her Dad. I love to make fun little things for the kids,Kennedy really does like it when I do;)

HAWAII

We went to the Polynesian Cultural center and went to the dinner show that night, we had a fun day!All of us with our tour guide, he was a great guide. ( Look at the way my Mom is doing the hang lose sign, I don't know if she ever got it right, silly Mom )

The kids on the beach in Oahu, we have made it a vacation tradition that when we are at the beach for Kennedy to write the names in the sand and take their picture. Hudson didn't really like the feel of the sand, as you can tell, he kept his hands up by his side.

One of the guys that had a booth at the swap meet had some cute little birds and he was entertaining Hudson with them while us girls were shopping, so we went back to see how Hudson was playing with the birds, Kennedy wanted to hold one and Hudson just wanted to laugh. ( how very stylish you are Kennedy w/ your Hawaiian flower and Hollywood sunglasses:) )

An hour later back to being HAPPY little Hudson !
Last night I went to see my friends new baby, I had only been there about 5 min. when Kevin called. I could hear Hudson just crying in the back ground, Kevin said that Hudson had fallen and hit his head on the down stairs fire place ( which is rock ) but he assured me that it was not an emergency, and that it was just bleeding a little. Well When he said " bleeding " that's when it was an emergency to me:) So i told him to call our wonderful friend & neighbor, Cynthia ( she is a nurse ) he said that he already did, what a smart man. So I got home and Kev and Hud were waiting at the door for me, I just started crying, it was so sad to see my little love bug like that. Cynthia checked him out and said that he should be fine , and he is, THANKS Cynthia !!!!
