So, I was digging through my bag today to try and find my phone and I discovered that I had some of the most random things in there! Here is a small sampling of the randomness that is my life:
empty sunglass case
Two kinds of sun screen: SPF 50 (water proof, non greasy, and ultra sweat proof) and SPF 70 with helioplex, whatever that is.
1 tampon
address book (perhaps I'll have time to write a letter or two...)
Lagoon pass - NOT my own...
High School Musical stickers
invitation to a garden art party
time card
UNI badge
$247.00 cash
Winnie the Pooh 7 piece stamp and stamp pad set
5 feet of pink sparkly rope
turtle finger puppet
map of Lagoon
3 beaded bracelts
1 water bottle, smelling like feet
2 stolen Zone bars, squished
Mary, the art therapist's phone number
printed schedule for the week of August 11th
evaluation forms (blank and filled out) for all of the volunteers
thank you card from former boss
paper giving me permission to use my boss' credit card
rechargable batteries
camera
This is only after 12 days of this session of camp... Bless my heart...

Thursday Thoughts
"This year, or this month, or, more likely, this very day, we have failed to practice ourselves the kind of behavior we expect from other people."
~~ C.S. Lewis
Today at camp, we did evaluations with our volunteers. It was an enlightening experience. I think I learned more about myself than I learned about any of our kids. Two of our kids are AMAZING volunteers and they were the ones that were the most nervous about the evaluations. I've learned a lot about life from these two friends of mine. Both of them have had pretty rough growing up years. They're both fifteen right now and have been through more in their lives then I can even comprehend, really. In spite of the drama that they have to live through, they are able to come to camp daily and be friendly, outgoing, postive, enthusiastic, appropriate, fun, ambitious, and energetic. It got me to thinking if I am as capable in general as they are. Am I able to put aside my own little pile of troubles and reach out to those around me with the grace that these two do? I hope that someday I can be like them. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to lift the hearts of those around me. I only hope I am up to the challenge. When I am with my two friends, I feel like I can not only do it, but I can do it with grace and while being friendly, outgoing, positive, enthusiastic, appropriate, fun, ambitious, and energetic. Just like them. And I'm supposed to be the role model here? I don't think so...
