An early birthday party & a surprise

My future company sent me chocolate covered strawberries today. How awesome are they?

Since I got my job in San Diego, I won't be in Colorado for my nephew's 9th birthday. I decided that I should make him a cake and let him open his gifts a little early. So, I started off by trying to make this Bakugan guy, Shun, and I failed miserably, it looked nothing like him. But it did, somehow resemble Harry Potter, which my nephew is a huge fan of. So I changed my whole course and came up with this Harry Potter cake. My nephew told me it was such "a beautiful cake" and that made my day!

A day w/ my sister's children

My sister had some stuff to do for school today and tomorrow. So I offered to take her kids up to Denver so we could have a party and hang out. Today we went to dinosaur ridge in Morrison, CO. We had a blast riding on the tour bus and looking at old dinosaur footprints.

A New Chapter

I feel like I've gone through so many chapters in my life and now that I've graduated with my MBA, I'm finally ready to start the next chapter of my life. My first big job! Sure, I've worked a lot before, but this one seems so different because the expectations are so much higher.

Today I accepted a job offer from provide-commerce (dba ProFlowers). I'm so excited and feel so good about this opportunity. Not to mention the fact that I'll get to enjoy perfect 70 degree weather year-round in San Diego. I'm also thrilled about the idea of working for a flower company, a company whose products make people happy everyday.

What's not to love: flowers? beach? I'm excited!
