(Long post, so read what you want...mostly want to get it all down for journaling!)
Well, I am finally posting things from Bridger's birthday parties...a month later...oops! I've been a bad blogger lately, not really sure why though...I want to do better! Anyway, Bridger's birthday was a lot of fun this year! He is at a fun age where he understands a lot! On his actual birthday we let him open presents before Josh went to work. He got a cowboy costume which he still wears every day! He also got some cowboy guns, a stick horse, Woody, clothes, and books. For lunch we met up with Josh at work, which was fun...Bridger especially loved it because Josh showed him different things around the station. They even put Woody through the security scanner at the courthouse! After lunch, I headed up to Kaysville so that Bridger could have a Grams and Grandpa evening. They took him to dinner (pizza at Olive Garden) and then they went to Toys'r'us...Bridger already knew exactly what he wanted...Buzz Lightyear, so he passed by the millions of toys without stopping to look at any until he got Buzz! He's been very into Toy Story lately, so it was fun for him to have both Woody and Buzz! Bridger stayed the night at Grams and Grandpa's and then Grandpa brought him down the next morning.
My birthday is the day after Bridger's birthday, so it was birthday weekened extravaganza! On my birthday Josh and Mark got Christmas lights put up, I took Kenna to the doctor for an ear infection and then that evening we celebrated my birthday. I got a new cell phone...my old phone was almost 3 years old and had seen better days! I also got Photoshop Elements from the kids...excited about that! We then had dinner at Rumbi Island Grill...it was delicious! We hadn't eaten there for a very very long time...for whatever reason...so I decided we should go there again and it didn't dissappoint. Kenna especially loved the mac and cheese!
The following day was Bridger's family birthday party. We did a cowboy themed party, complete with cowboy decorations, cowboy music, cowboy beans and biscuits served in pie tins, and we had everyone come in their best cowboy/girl attire! It was such a fun theme! I made his birthday cake the night before and it took forever, as usual! I wasn't entirely pleased with how it turned out, but everyone liked it, especially Bridger! He received some great gifts, such as clothes, cowboy boots, Slink (the slinky dog from Toy Story), a little Buzz Lightyear, some fun odds and end toys, a BYU ball, cars, and more! It was a fun birthday party...then we geared up for the next day...the friend party (yes, I am crazy!)
We had just a few of his friends over for a party...I wasn't going to do a birthday party with friends for at least another year, but he misses all his friends so I thought we'd invite a few over. We had a great time with everyone here! It was fun to see Bridger "host" his friends! They also came dressed up as cowboys/girls...and all looked adorable! Each child got a cowboy hat, bandana, and sherriff badge...so they were official! We played pin the tail on the horse (donkey), cowboy, cowboy, Indian (duck, duck, goose) and Don't let the snake bite (hot potato). It took the kids a bit to catch on to some of the games, but it was fun nonetheless! After presents(he got some more fabulous gifts), cake and ice cream, the kids played some more and the party was over.
Whew...it was quite the birthday celebration...makes me tired all over again, just thinking about it! It was fun though and I think Bridger loved it, so it was all worth it! Still can't believe he's 4!
