this is my new niece emi.

i love her.

she is my new favorite thing.

i held her for an hour today.

i can't get enough of this little girl.

i love this, it looks like she is smiling

(even thought the nurse's hand is in there trying to get her to open her eyes)

surprise, she was 3 weeks early and a tiny 5lb 10oz

8 things

1. we had a pretty chill valentine's day this year....no flowers, presents, or fancy dinners. we actually spent it playing bingo in mesquite and eating dinner at jack in the box. romantic, no...but fun!

2. we went to st. george for the 4th annual president's day weekend bingo trip. it was awesome! jd won $50...that would have been $100 if he would have realized he had bingo a few numbers ago! this is where we got engaged 3 years ago, so its become a tradition (don't worry, not at bingo).

3. this little girl is pretty darn cute! and she LOVED the fondue! we had fun spending time with family, an awesome sunday dinner, fondue, family feud and the hot tub. thanks guys!

4. jd took a sort of nasty spill on these...unfortunately it was in the street

5. we saw this on valentine's day

i like it.

i also liked gigi's hair and am contemplating trying to pull it off....what do you think?

kind of a messy, wavy, hopefully easy to do kinda thing.

6. we went to the parade of homes and it was amazing and sickening all at the same time. who in the world needs 15,000 square feet, a pool with 2 caves and a tv, 6 garages, a full size basketball court, raquet ball court, gym, climbing wall, putting green, and 200 inch tv? all i ask for is a garage and some daylight...

7. i am incredibly lazy today.

i got home from work early since jd and i are sharing a car

(while pat the protege gets painted from previous wrecks...)

i should be cleaning or getting ready to go to arizona.

instead i am going to enjoy my dinner and my book.

8. and for number 8...i have lost 8 pounds! i know, it's not that much but i'm getting there. i still have quite a ways to go, but hopefully by spring-ish i'll get there.

jd just found out today that he got an interview at midswestern university in glendale, arizona. we are so excited! mostly because one of my major requests was that wherever we go, it be a warm state. i might be getting a little more than i bargained for when i requested "warm".

his interview is on the 23rd, but we're going to head down a couple days early to enjoy it! we'll let you know how it goes!

i said goodbye to one of my very best friends on tuesday.
kristen left for her mission to roseville, california.

it's going to be a long 18 months.

i already feel strange not being able to call her and talk like usual. i wanted to call her to come stay with me this weekend while jd is gone...bummer.

on a good note...i had lunch with some old friends today. that made me happy.
