37 weeks

37 weeks

3 more weeks to go. yikes.
i cheated and took this picture monday after i got my hair done. who knows when you might see it cute again.

some days she looks like she is sticking out so far and some days i hardly notice she's there. i had an ultrasound last tuesday and she decided to turn, yay! she's head down now.

my blood pressure has been a little high when i go to my appointments, but is totally normal at home. i decided it must be the stress of work. and leaving work. and since i work in the same place as my doctor's office...no wonder it's high. i have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get too high.

i'm measuring a little bit small for how far along i am so i'm having a growth ultrasound on monday to check her out. if she's slowed down, then it's baby time! my doctor said there's more benefits to having her out than in at this point, if she's small. and, after 37 weeks she tolerates less of this too small, high blood pressure business. so, she may be here a little earlier than we thought. i only ask that she waits until friday when it's january 1st and my flex spending is available. too much to ask?

we also had a non-stress test today. baby k did great and passed! her heart rate was perfect and she has plenty of fluid. i loved laying there listening to her heartbeat for 20 minutes.

i just realized i didn't take 1 picture over christmas. lame. next year i guess.
next up...before and after pictures of the house. finally!

coming soon...

as soon as my house is tidy enough for pictures, i'll post some before and afters. we are finally mostly done with everything we wanted before baby k comes. i finally feel ok and a little more ready for her to come.
and an update on baby k coming soon!

35 week update

35 weeks
pretty sure this is like take 17 of this picture.
you would think after 35 weeks we'd have it down.

she is definitely getting bigger...and so am i.
at my 33 week appointment, i was only measuring about 32 weeks and the same as 2 weeks before. but i'm pretty sure she's grown this time. i'll find out tomorrow.
this little stinker is transverse, just as i thought.
she is nice and comfy where she's at...sideways.
i hope she's going to start thinking about making a move downward or we're going to have ourselves a c-section...which i'm actually ok with.
(feel free to share your c-section stories with me)
i kind of like the idea of a plan. i'm a planner. big time.
i'm extremely nervous about my water breaking and going into labor in the middle of a snow storm. maybe i'll be at work and already at the hospital? but how can i really plan for that? i'm already a nervous wreck driving with jd in the snow, can you imagine me on the way to the hospital? yikes.

and in case you are sick of hearing about baby stuff...
we went to temple square last weekend to see the lights. i love looking at christmas lights! they were so pretty. and we were sure glad it wasn't as cold as the previous few days had been. so glad we went and got milkshakes after instead of hot chocolate.

33 weeks

33 weeks

(and here's a sneak peak at our walls in the new house)

things are still going good. at my 31 week appointment i was measuring right on schedule. and i'm now going every 2 weeks. yikes. that means i'm close.
i get pretty tired by the end of the day, but that may have something to do with working like crazy on our house. i think my biggest complaint so far is the congestion...EVERY day. i have a hard time sleeping because i can't breathe. i opened up the humidifier i bought for baby k last night and used it myself. thank you, mr. frog humidifier. i hope she doesn't mind i borrowed it.

i can't wait to go to the doctor thursday and find out what position this girl is sitting in. it seems like she is all over the place. she keeps poking body parts out in strange places and i really can't decide what it what. she is definitely running out of room in there, but i love to watch my whole belly move when she shifts positions. i love this girl.

baby k's room is coming along and i'll have an up date soon!

thanksgiving

here is our little family on thanksgiving

jd, alicia, and baby k

we usually do thanksgiving with jd's family on thursday, but they camped out in nevada this year. not a good idea for 32 weeks pregnant...7 hour car ride and sleeping on an air mattress. so, we stayed behind this year and joined my mom, rod, and rochele at chuck a rama for thanksgiving. we worked on the house a little, ate dinner, and saw the blind side. it was so good! then on saturday we had real thanksigivng with my family. mmm, delish.

we tried to get a picture with all 3 grandkids. turns out it was hard to do with a 3 year old, 9 month old, and 3 month old.

emi was only interested in trying to crawl around and grab lincoln and bryce

this is probably the best one i got...even though none of them are looking

emi in her cute little outfit and baby legs

and baby bryce chilling in his bouncer and watching the jazz

i also had a shower a few weeks ago with some friends. i am lame and only took 2 pictures the whole time...and we are missing a few people because these were at the end.
jenny is about 6 weeks behind me and we wanted to compare baby bellies

jenna, jenny, me and shyla
(i don't know what that weird line is down my stomach)
baby k is lookin good, don't you think? i'm starting to pack on the pounds, especially after this weekend!

31 weeks

here is 31 weeks. wow.
can you tell a difference from 28? she is definitely there, although it seems to depend on the time of day. this morning you could hardly tell and here she is after i ate dinner...

i'm not loving this picture, but it's the best i got. and, in case you were wondering, i got some new maternity jeans and they are MUCH better.

ps...we are closing on our house thursday and then i can start on baby k's room!

more girl stuff

i made this blanket today for baby k.
it was actually easier than i thought.
i love it. it is so soft and matches her room.
i bought this outfit for her to come home from the hospital in and i've been looking for a hat. i finally found this hat yesterday and i had to get it. don't you love the bunny ears?
i can't wait to see what she'll look like in it!

i {heart} girl stuff

i just ordered this for baby k. what do you think?
i don't love the ruffles on the bed skirt. any suggestions??
i just love the pink and green paisleys. i hope she likes my style.
i can't wait until her room is done!

home.

the new house.

we finally found a house.
we don't close until the 19th, but things are moving along. we can't wait to move in and get going. the house was forclosed and has been vacant for about a year. the yard is in pretty bad shape since no one has been taking care of it, but that's the beautiful part about moving in in november. i don't even have to worry about it until spring. the inside is actually in pretty good shape despite the terrible paint job and dirty carpet. i'll be sure to post some before and after pictures. we will most likely be spending thanksgiving painting, getting new carpet and cleaning. we are so excited to finally have somewhere to live and a room for baby k to come home to. we love it!

28 weeks

28 down, 12 to go

don't tell me i don't look pregnant. i get that at work all the time. she is just hiding well. i can't decide if she's just going to be small or maybe she just sitting in my back more?

...baby k update...
baby k and i passed the gestational diabetes screen, woohoo! it really wasn't that bad. so far things are on track and, according to my weekly emails, she weighs about 2 1/4 pounds and is about 14.8 inches long.

maternity pants are just gross, i hate them. i finally broke down and bought some for work a few weeks ago. the ones i got are too big, but i was afraid the smaller size would get to small. my mom bought me some maternity jeans she's been dying for me to wear. i finally wore them last week and they were the most uncomfortable things ever. i'll stick to my regular jeans for now, thank you.

we started going to a 3rd trimester class at the hospital. i think its pretty fun, but i like to learn about stuff like that. jd on the other hand looked pretty horrified at the first birth film we watched. i can't blame him though, the lady did not help the process look any prettier.

i think baby k is going to be pretty mellow. she is pretty quiet in there. she seems to be just chilling out and relaxing in there. what else does she have to do? she doesn't get all crazy moving around (most of the time) and she just makes little movements here and there. she is also stubborn. she will not cooperate with ultrasounds or when i try and make her move. whenever someone wants to feel her, she won't move...at all.

she finally has a crib. it's currently still in the box, but at least it's in the same state. she also has her very own room now (more to come...) and a dresser ready to paint.

we are getting so excited to finally see her and i am dying to know what she looks like!

i {heart} fall

i {heart} fall. it's probably my favorite season. it always makes me think of new york...my favorite place to be in the fall. something feels so nostalgic about new york in the fall. i'm dying to be there right now. since that's not in the plans...
we went for a drive yesterday to check out the fall leaves. we must have waited a little too long for farmington canyon. this is the best i got. most of the trees were bare already. and a drive up the canyon turned out NOT to be a good idea when you have a cold. my poor head felt like it was going to explode from the pressure. at leas it was a beautiful day!

i hoped main street in farmington would be a little more colorful. maybe next week.

100 days

100 days until baby k is here. wow. that's just over 3 more months. where has the time gone? i have so much stuff to do still. i'm pretty sure this girl is set on clothes...not that that stops me from buying them. there's not a whole lot more i can do right now without a room to decorate, a crib that's in san antonio, and not being able to organize anything.

i still want to find a dresser for her and paint it green to match a cute nightsand i bought for her. i need a crib that is NOT in san antonio. i need to figure out what bedding i want to put in her room. oh, and find a house so she actually has a room. then i need to paint. and i cannot wait to organize her stuff. i LOVE organizing. i love to look at her clothes in the closet before i go to bed too.

baby k is moving like crazy these days. jd felt her for the first time last saturday. i had been trying to get him to feel her for weeks, but it's so hard to know when she's going to move because it's been so sporadic. last saturday night she was moving like crazy and i could tell where she was at. luckily she moved because jd is not very patient to wait for her to move. he's been feeling her move all this week too. and my mom was able to feel her move the other night. so, as far as i can tell she is doing good. i have my glucose test next week so wish me luck!
baby k is making herself a little more evident these days so i guess i better post an updated picture. stay tuned!

Sunday, September 27, 2009

i had my first family shower on saturday while my aunt janine and aunt nancy were here. it was so fun to see everyone. baby k got so much great stuff! she is so spoiled! now, i just need a house to put all her stuff in. it is literally driving me nuts not to be able to put her stuff away. enjoy some picture!
great grandma nola gave her this quilt and it reminds me of a blanket i used to love at my grandma's house, the bunny blanket

here is ash and baby bryce at 6 weeks old
this basket was FULL of clothes from my aunt kay and her girls
and of course one of emi because i haven't had any of her for a long time

emi and grace

my cousins (second cousins i think) and girls

our good friends chelsea and lori

jd's sisters katie and heidi

jd's mom and sister rachel

allison and ashley who gave me the shower

my cousin crystal, aunt sally, and jessica
we must have taken this before emily came, sorry!

the whole group

me, my mom, grandma and baby k
i can't wait for this little girl to meet her great grandma dot

my cousin's darling kids. i'm so glad they could come!

the girls (minus stacey who was sick)

my sisters

my cousin kristi took this and i thought it was cool...even though you can't see much belly

grandpa playing with emi
she LOVES to play with him and will always smile at him

we put bryce and emi in the chair together and they are almost the same size. they only lasted in the chair together for a few seconds. we'll have 2 more to add to the picture in january since stacey is due 3 days before me.

22 weeks (and a half)

i've been kind of mia lately and not really for any good reason other than lack of blogging material.
tuesday was 22 weeks. since it's almost friday i'm counting a half too. i can't believe we're on the downhill. 18 weeks to go. yikes.

things are going really well still. i still feel great. so far i've only gained 5 pounds and right on track for my goal weight (don't worry, doctor recommended). baby k is moving quite a bit lately. i think i felt her move a while ago, but i wasn't sure for a while. my only complaint so far is the sharp abdominal "growing pains" or so they're called. they always seem to be at night and i can barely move to get myself in bed.

also, we might have a name for this little girl. maybe. we haven't decided for sure, so i'm not quite ready to spill it yet.

we had another ultrasound tuesday to check her heart and everything looks great. they did a 4d picture for me, but the little punk had her arms in front of her face. at first, she had her arms AND legs in front of her face and they couldn't see her heart well enough. i had to try rolling onto both sides to get her to move. she is stubborn already. the doctor agreed. he also agreed that she was a girl because of her little attitude...i won't and you can't make me.

isn't this cute?

i realize it's a little creepy too, but cute. her arms are so tiny. she weighs about a pound right now. i just wish we could have seen her face.

and here i am.
there is a little more to see.
last week no one at work could believe i was 21 weeks.
now you can tell there is a little bit of a baby there.

Sunday, September 6, 2009

since we already bought tickets to and from san antonio, we had major credit on southwest.
so, we decided to take a little trip to san francisco.
right from the airport we stopped at the ghiradelli factory store.
you could smell the chocolate before you even got out of the car...mmm.
i got some delicious hot chocolate!
don't worry, we rolled around oakland in a baby blue lincoln towncar.
i was a little worried to be driving that around there for fear we would get mugged lookin like gangstas.
and i totally forgot to take a picture of it. it was huge.

we drove by our old house in san leandro.
wow, does it look different. there used to be some yard and the trim was not teal. yikes.
we also scored free tickets to the giants vs diamondbacks game.
it was sweet to be at at&t park and jd's first pro baseball game.
we were on the 14th row and had some awesome hebrew national hot dogs, gilroy's garlic fries, and some hot chocolate when it got cold.
the only bummer was we left early when they giants were down 0-1 and then as soon as we left the giants hit a home run with 2 men on base and scored 3 runs.
outside the park

the view from the stadium of the bay bridge and the city

we walked all the way to the top and checked out the view of the whole park

there is this huge coke bottle that has slides inside and the huge mitt

view the other direction out over the bay

jd and i in front of the giant mitt

the park at night

it was really cool to see the park all lit up as the fog rolled in and settled on the field

the next day it was amazingly clear in the city so we decided to check out the bridge while we had a good view. last year when we went you couldn't even see the bridge because it was so foggy.

we walked the whole bridge and i was totally sore after (thanks to a charley horse)

the view of the city and the bay

us on the bridge
don't look too closely, this is not a good picture.

these signs were all over the bridge and i thought they were kind of funny...in case anyone wanted to jump.

the view of alcatraz, the bay bridge, and the city

us with my dad on the other side

we drove over into marin county to see the bridge from the park.
we had to check out all the views since you rarely get to see it this well.

i loved this little barn looking thing and these pictures on there.
i have been searching for where i can buy these pictures, i love them!
the view from down by the water

i like this one with the pier, the water, the bridge and historic fort pointe

then we walked around the city, pier 39 and the wharf.
i could watch these sea lions for hours, they are so funny.

i liked this picture with all the boats at the wharf

we stopped at this little fruit stand on the pier and it looked so pretty.
unfortunately, the fruit wasn't very good and it was way expensive.

this is from baker beach

we also stopped by cliff house and checked out the view there and ocean beach

it was cool to see the history of cliff house and the pictures of how it used to look.
it has been so many different things over the years and it was neat to see the history.

next we went down to santa cruz and it was incredibly hot.
i was pretty miserable most of the time. i feel bad for jd, my dad, and my aunt who had to put up with my complaining. jd was so sweet to carry my heavy purse the whole day so i didn't have to.
this picture is from the wharf next to the boardwalk.
the boardwalk and all the rides

this is the outside before you walk in.
it was fun to go here again. i haven't been here in years, since i was little.
unfortunately i couldn't go on the rides, but it was fun to go again.
i didn't take many pictures after because i was miserably hot. we also went to capitola, shopping, and checking out the area. we love vacation!
