My house....
Besides my friends, I miss my house more than ANYTHING we left behind in Rexburg. I think about it every day when I'm loading my dishwasher that sounds like a spaceship. I couldn't even bring myself to delete my house-for-sale blog, so instead I kept the blog alive, just so I can look at it now and then and wish my house back. But on the upside, I really like not having to winterize my yard, pull out all the dead flowers, blow out our sprinkler system, catch the spiders living in our basement and shovel the snow from our driveway everyday. :) there's always an upside.

Orange and White Quilt Finished
I'm so excited about how this turned out I had to post it on both blogs! It went together really fast, and I finished up the binding last night while we watched LeatherHeads (cute movie). This one is going on my chair in my living room, and I think I might need to try it out and take a nice nap under it.

My brother Ben and his friend Scott played in Guitars Unplugged at BYU-Idaho a couple weeks ago. Scott's wife video'd it so I though I'd share mainly for our family's sake so they can see. :) Guitars Unplugged is a big deal at BYU-I, and its hard to make the auditions, so good job Ben and Scott! Before Ben's mission he would lipsink so no one could hear him sing.....now he's singing in front of full auditoriums! My how 2 years can change a person.

Halloween Party
Ben and his friend Gene, I mean Spiderman.

Can you tell who's kid likes attention? None of the other kids are even paying attention, but Ben is eating it up while everyone cheers for the costumes.

Our ward party was tonight. Ben was in Halloween Heaven, with lots of kids, candy and attention. He even got the trick-or-treating thing. He would say wick-o-weat, and they would put candy in his pumpkin and he would say YEAAAAYYY. It was really cute. I WAS going to make him a costume...............but walmart is way easier. (yes......I went to Walmart, gag....Target was out of costumes, believe me I tried) And for 12 bucks it was a pretty cute costume which he totally LOVES. Who doesn't love being superman?

A New Park
What's a Jay to do?
When I came home I found these cute little coffin treat boxes all over our table. So then I learned, that my dear sweet husband in all his free time while we were away, decided he would watch the Martha Stewart Show, and then make the little coffin treat boxes she made on her show. Honestly I thought my visiting teachers brought them or something! They are super cute, he made a whole bunch of them and they are all lined with different scrapbook paper! So now you know, Jay watches Martha Stewart, and he actually attempted the crafts, which I have never done! here is the link for the template.
Lowes Motor Speedway
While we were in North Carolina we went to visit the Lowes Motor Speedway. It so happens there was a Nascar race there the Saturday we were there, so we were able to sneak in through a wide open gate and see the track. And if that wasn't cool enough (and it was) there were three or four race cars that pulled out onto the track and started racing around the track! I'm not a Nascar fan, but I think I might have to be now. It was amazing how they whipped around the track, and how LOUD they are! I can't even imagine how loud fifty of them would be! Anyways it was lots of fun and next time we'll go to a real race!
It took about five tries to get a picture with the car in the background. Its not easy when they are whipping by at 180 mph or so!
Way too loud for little ears. Audrey wasn't so sure about the race cars, Ben was fast asleep in the car go figure.
North Carolina
This past weekend after my parents visited us in Cleveland, Ben and I drove to Charlotte, North Carolina to visit my aunt Jenny and her sweet kids Audrey and Jacob. We had tons of fun, Ben was in absolute heaven with Audrey and Jacob to play with (and fight with). We visited a historic plantation, visited downtown Charlotte and got a sneak peak at the Lowes Motor Speedway right after a Nascar race. We had lots of fun, but of course wished Jay could have been with us! Thanks Jenny and Jeremy and Audrey and Jacob for lots of fun!!!

Jay hasn't seen this yet...................I'm sure I'll get an earfull when he does, but for now I had to add these pictures because they were just too cute to pass up. Audrey got Ben dressed the first morning we were there. She was pretty sure he should have been wearing a skirt like her, and I must admit he did look pretty cute in it.

Kirltland, Ohio
Kirtland is only half an hour from our house and we finally went there today. It was really cool, super beautiful and we learned TONS of cool church history. So if you want to come visit us we'll add it to your list of things to do while your here. They had tons of original sites, like the Whitney Store above, where Joseph Smith and Emma stayed for a while, and the prophet and priesthood met and received Doctrine. It was very interesting and in such a beautiful area!
Amish Country...again
We ventured out to Amish Country again yesterday with my parents that are visiting. We went to a FABULOUS antique festival in one town, and a FABULOUS fabric store in another, and went to a cute little animal park and pumpkin farm. It was lots of fun, and all the beautiful white homes decorated for fall. I love the simple lifestyle and the peace I feel being there, it makes it harder every time to come back to the busy busy life we have here. I think I could live an Amish lifestyle, if I had electricity, and flushing toilets, and running water, and a SUV, and my sewing machine, and a microwave, and an oven, and a washing machine, and a dryer, and a dishwasher, and a Costco. Yep, I could definitely live like the Amish.
