One Month Old

Today, Sadie is one month old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. She has already gotten so much bigger. I'm excited for her to get more fun and interactive, but I am also sad that the days of her just sleeping and cuddling on my shoulder are coming to an end. She is already starting to hold her head up and she has even smiled a handful of times. I love this girl so much and I truly cherish every moment that I have with her. Here are a few pictures of how she has changed throughout her first month of life.

Also, I just wanted to wish my mom a Happy Birthday. I am so lucky to have a mom like her. Since I have had my own children, she has truly become my best friend. Everyday, we fight the kids and either go mall-walking, shopping, or out to lunch. She has been there for me more than anybody and I really do appreciate her so much. I love you mom!

Here is my mom with Sadie shortly after she was born.

Turkey Cookies

Since Thanksgiving is in a couple of days, I wanted to do something fun with the kids that reminded them of this wonderful holiday and why we celebrate it. Also, I wanted to do something that would keep their minds off of Santa Claus and Christmas presents for a couple of hours. While watching Nick Jr. last week with Dillon, I saw a commercial on how to make Turkey Cookies out of your childrens' hand cutouts. We decided to try it out today.

Dillon and Braylon with their hand cutouts. Dillon looks a little funny as I cut his hair way too short a couple of nights ago.

The finished product.

The boys with a couple of their turkeys. I think that they turned out pretty cute and the boys had a lot of fun decorating them.

On another note, I couldn't publish a post without showing a couple of pictures of Sadie and how she is growing and changing so much already. We are having so much fun with this little girl.

I know that this post is a little delayed but...

I just wanted to share some of our pre-Halloween, pre-Sadie, fall activities. Our first adventure was to the pumpkin patch. The boys enjoyed picking out their own pumpkins and they even picked one out for Sadie.

After the pumpkin patch, we decided that it would be fun to make Halloween sugar cookies. The boys loved frosting and decorating the cookies.

A week before Halloween, we decided to carve our pumpkins. Jarom and I hate the mess of pumpkin carving so we decided that the boys could only watch. Jarom and I have decided that we were unfortunately not born with a lot of talent in pumpkin carving.

Finally, a few days before Halloween, my mom and I decided that it would be fun to make a ghost cake. Although the cake didn't turn out exactly how we originally envisioned, it still tasted pretty good.

Our First Week Home

We came home on Saturday and it has been a little bit overwhelming to say the least. Life with three kids is a little bit harder than we anticipated, but we are slowly adjusting. Here is Sadie all dressed up in pink ready to leave the hospital.

Here is Dillion and Braylon preparing for the Baltimore Ravens game (they smoked the Broncos) with Sadie. Sadie was so excited to cheer on the Ravens for the first time.

Since Sadie was born with a bruise on her head, she has developed jaundice. Her levels are high enough to require a biliblanket which allows her to receive the vitamin D that she is unable to make on her own. The device is somewhat of a pain, but it is better than the alternative. With the biliblanket, she has become our little "Glow Bug." Hopefully her jaundice levels will go down soon and she will finally be able to explore the house and adventure out.

The boys are adjusting to having a baby sister. Dillon has become our errand boy running back and forth to Sadie's room getting diapers and wipes every couple of hours. Braylon will occasionally help out by retrieving the boppy for me.

Sadie wasn't too sure about her first bath. After the initial shock she seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will develop some kind of routine to make life a little bit easier around here. We are definitely enjoying our time with our new addition and are truly blessed to have such a perfect little girl.
