Dancing
Parker has learned to do the actions along with a lot of the action songs and I LOVE it- it is seriously too cute. One of my favorites is when he does all the actions to 'If You're Happy and You Know It', but he'll also join in on popcorn popping, the wise man and foolish man, the wheels on the bus, and many others.
Parker has some favorite songs and even requests them sometimes, he'll pop his hands out and say BEE for "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam".
Or he'll say "a man" and bend over onto the ground to sing "Once there was a snowman", the funny thing is he has several books that have a snowman in them and whenever he sees a picture of a snowman he'll bend down to the ground and say a man because he just associates them with the song.
He'll grab his toes and say "Weee wee", which if course means he wants "This little piggy", and will often request this when he sees pictures of pigs.
He'll lay on the ground and say "down" which means he wants to sing ring around the rosie, you know... all fall DOWN, so he calls it down.
In addition to participating in the songs that we sing together, Parker also loves to dance to music, And he has all kinds of moves; he'll turn his head back and forth like he is saying no, he'll bob up and down, he'll stomp around in a circle (that move is usually accompanied by him saying WEEE WEEEE WEEEE while he does it), if it's a slow song he'll sway side to side- and his newest move is repeatedly stomping one foot really hard.
He'll dance to about anything, and while Parker and I spend most of our time listening to children's music (meaning mostly Rhinoceros Tap by Sandra Boynton, the best kids album ever by the worlds best children's author!) or classical music, his favorite music seems to be Classic Rock. And you won't believe it- his favorite song is Back in Black by ACDC-- weird right?
He's so cute, we love singing and playing with this boy all day long.

Not Fun
Then, he got me sick- What a punk right?
Anyway I got a sore throat and was coughing like crazy, I lost my voice for a couple of days and half of my diet seemed to consist of ice water and cough drops.
Then, Sunday night Parker woke up a couple times and would cough for a minute then go back to sleep, when he woke in the morning, he was all congested. Out comes the cough medicine, the humidifier, and the vapor rub. It seemed to work- He is super happy, and isn't acting like he's sick at all, except he has to stop and cough on a regular basis; so- crisis averted.
We've started feeling OK, not the greatest, but we're all fine and then BAM!
I had just been talking to my sisters on Friday about how good I felt during this pregnancy and that I have only thrown up ONCE! So much better than my pregnancy with Parker, well that changed - a couple hours after I ate lunch, I threw up everything I had eaten that day and probably most of the stuff I had eaten in the past week. It was really bad, I continued to vomit on a regular basis and I couldn't keep anything down, not even plain crackers, or straight water.
At fifteen weeks into the pregnancy I had gained just 3 pounds, and after I got sick it took less than 24 hours to lose those three pounds again.
In the middle of the night Jason starts having stomach problems too, he took some Pepto, but to no avail, he ended up throwing up too.
I really really hope Parker doesn't get this part of the sickness, I really don't want to have to clean up a bunch of toddler vomit.
I'm ready to get us all better, pronto!

Funny Boy
If someone blows their nose, he will put his hand in front of his face and blow a raspberry to copy that person blowing their nose, and if he gets his hand on a tissue, of course he pretends to blow his nose.
Currently one of his favorite games is to have me put something on my head and then pretend to sneeze, so that whatever is on my head falls off, he laughs so hard at this, and if I put something on my head and I don't pretend to sneeze, he'll start fake sneezing, as if to show me what I should do.
Parker can say the word baby and say it in sign language, and man does he love babies, he loves to point them out all the time, and loves pictures of babies, and what I think is the best is that he associates crying with babies- so if any kid starts crying he'll point at them and call them a baby- we were at a kids birthday party last week and this little boy who was probably about 5 or 5-1/2 years old starts throwing a fit and screaming and crying, so Parker kept pointing to him and saying baby. I think it's super funny
He's learned to shush people, he puts his finger in front of his mouth and goes "ssshhh". He doesn't only do it when other people are loud--- sometimes he yells really loudly and then looks at me and says "ssshhh" telling himself to be quiet.
He has always loved books and loves to read, but recently it has become and obsession, Some days we probably read over 200 books, (many are the same ones repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over...) After many naps he'll start fussing because he's trying to reach out of his crib to get to the books right next to him, but he can't reach- he doesn't cry just because he woke up, but because he wants to read and can't.
He loves ketchup, and will eat anything if it has ketchup on it
He loves to swing and many times a day he'll go to the back door and ask to swing by signing 'swing' if that doesn't work than he'll say and sign 'please', and if that doesn't work then he'll grab our shoes and bring them over to us, because he knows we need them to go outside- He'll say "shoes shoes, swing swing, shoes, swing" To convince us to take him outside.
He gets a little over excited about eating (especially bananas) and puts way too much food in his mouth at once. Then, he has to hold his hand over his mouth to hold the food in while he chews.
He is very very in love with his blankets and Panda, which is a giant stuffed panda, this is mostly funny because the Panda is nearly as large as he is and it's great that he drags this giant thing everywhere in the house.
As I said he loves his blankets, very very much, and recently has become interested in belts, he'll point them out whenever he sees them and says "bah" (he's working on that one) Well, a few times I rolled up one of his blankets and tied it around his waist like a belt, he thinks it is AMAZING!!!!
He likes to wash his hands, we started having him wash his hands after he sits on the potty, and he always reminds us if we forget, or if he sees a sink faucet he'll ask to wash his hands. And last week I went into a store that had a toy kitchen area set up for kids to play in, with plastic food and a small table and fake appliances and all, well he saw the fake sink faucet and tried washing his hands under it, then tried to get me to help him, but since water doesn't come out of those faucets, he got frustrated and started tapping and pushing the faucet every way he could, to get water out of it... So cute!

Barefoot, Pregnant and in the Kitchen
That's how it feels this right now. For the past week I've been in the kitchen for all of my usual breakfast, lunch and dinner duties (and of course all the clean up afterwards). But I also made two Valentines Cakes, which took some time- believe me it took almost 40 minutes to turn that fondant so bright red. And making chocolates for the cake and making chocolate covered strawberries at the same time. But I also had a a friend of mine order two cakes for her kids birthday party on Monday so I spent lots of time mixing plenty of colors of frosting to make Dora and Diego- and then of course baking and decorating.
Here are the results
It was fun to see the kids excited about their cakes. James was very happy to get his "EGGO" cake. After the party, I came home, cleaned up all kinds of messiness in the kitchen and then start making dinner thinking "I need a little break from the kitchen" I had spent most of my free time in there in the past week, but as I'm making chicken sandwiches I realize that we are using 4 out of the last 5 pieces of bread for dinner.
So what does that mean?? I spent a few hours last night making bread for the next couple of weeks.
So maybe we'll get take-out tonight- haha

Happy V-Day
I don't eat sweets very often, but today I get to- mmmmmm chocolate.
For Valentines Day I found an idea online for a valentine cake that looks like a box of chocolates, So I made 2. One for my best friend April Chavez, and one for my bestest best friend Jason :)
Jason and I already started eating the "candies" off the top, they are really just cake dipped in melting chocolate- which is even better!

I've got a Secret
I'm Pregnant, my Due date is August 14th, so I'm 13 weeks pregnant now
The baby is due 2 weeks before Parker turns 20 months.
We found out December 18th, we didn't think I was pregnant, I had taken lots of pregnancy tests and they had all said no, I then went in to the doctor for some problems I was having, and halfway through the appointment a nurse brought in a something- turns out it was a pregnancy test and it was positive!! I had my first ultrasound on January 8th, when I was 9 weeks pregnant.

It may not look like much, but that's my baby. We saw the heart beating, and even saw him/her kicking and punching.
We haven't explained anything to Parker, they say 1 year olds don't get it anyway, so we'll talk to him about RIGHT before the due date- but of course he'll love having a younger sibling- he loves his cousins and loves trying to play with little babies at story time at the library
This pregnancy I've been feeling about a thousand times better than I did during my pregnancy with Parker, a little sick, a lot tired, but still much better so far. Despite the fact that I'm less tired this time than I was with Parker, I still think it might be harder to cope with because I have Parker around, he wears on my nerves much more quickly than he did before I got pregnant, and I've been so tired a few times that I came really really close to letting him watch T.V.
I do feel much 'bigger' this time already- I've heard this is common that you take the longest to show on your first pregnancy, and it's true, I've gained less than one pound this pregnancy so far and I already barely fit into my pants. (pants that previously had some extra breathing room.)
Can you see it?? Can you see the baby bump?? I know it may not seem that big yet , but I can certainly feel the difference.
Anyway, we're very excited to have baby number 2!
It will be the 4th grandchild on the Tieman side and the 5th on the Murphy side.

Don't Tell Jason
"hmmm... what should I wear"
He also tries to put bobby pins in his hair sometimes- but has yet to be successful. But to make up for it- here is Parker doing something way too manly for his age-- "shaving" with daddy.
