sleep bag

we got jae a sleep bag. jimmy calls it his sleeping bag. ha ha! it was priced at $7, but rang up as $5. yesss! he still needs more sleepers as he has grown out all the hand-me-downs from katie and april. maybe we'll get him more for Christmas. i don't know.

see that grape thing? that's his vibrating teether we got him for Christmas. i opened it b/c he was crying for almost an hour... i didn't know what was wrong, so i decided to see if he needed that. nope, not really. he just whacks himself in the head w/ it. but, he loves his lion!

down with the sickness

jae has been sick this past week. it started w/ some sneezes and developed into being a stuffy nose and later, a cough. he still smiles and plays, though. he barfed two mornings in a row, so let's hope that doesn't happen anymore. i'm HOPING it's getting better. we sure spend a lot of time in the "sauna" AKA bathroom and he hates it when i put saline drops in his nose and then suck out the snot. sometimes he's a good sport about it, but most of the time he doesn't like it. i don't blame him.

we just hope he doesn't get sick again on the airplane ride to portland.

on monday, jae hit his 5 month mark! he is growing, growing, growing! i think i have more videos, but i will put them up later. the lighting in our living room is horrible, but i will still post them.

so, how are we related?

So, we partied at Japril's house last night. I put Jae next to Megan and was thinking they were 1st cousins once removed. (I don't know how all that works). So, then I googled it and read it out loud:

Your child and your first cousin's child are second cousins because they share the same common ancestor(s) and that is your Grandparents, your child's Great Grandparents.

You and your cousin's child are first cousins once removed because the both of you are in different generations and have no ancestors in common and the 'once removed' means that they came one generation after you.

Harmony and I just laughed. "Common ancestors." ^.^

I was opening his Tylenol bottle last night (12.02.09) and all of a sudden he starts cracking up out of nowhere. I told Jimmy to film it, so here's the remains of his little laugh attack!

Thanksgiving

Jae and I went w/ G&G Roberts and Uncle Ben to St. George. Jae was able to meet some Skinners and his great-grandparents.

After the lunch, a few of us started a round-shaped seascape puzzle while others visited.

we introduced cereal to jae last night. funniest thing! oh, and jimmy decided to record ugly me and i wasn't too happy, so sorry about that part!

jae's 4 month appt

dr. omura is very happy w/ jae's growth! happy and healthy! he stands 26" tall and weighs 15.9 pounds! his head still measures small as it is in the 10th percentile. jae was lovin' his check-up as he gave dr. omura all kinds of smiles and striking up conversation.

he took his shots like a man! one oral and 2 in the thigh. his face got really red and cried for 5 seconds and that was it.

i am going to start him on cereal tonight! i was going to last night, but didn't think i had a baby spoon, but i found one! (my mom got him a little crab dish set or whatever you call it, and there was a spoon in it). dr. omura also said i could feed him apple juice to keep him regular. :P anyway, he says the cereal should help jae sleep through the night. which is funny b/c he slept 7 hours last night, but too bad he fell asleep at 7! dr. asked how his sleep patterns are at night and i said: 4 hours is his long stretch then it's every 2 after that. he said it just sounds like he needs to eat all throughout the night and the cereal is harder to digest so hopefully that helps.

i didn't take any pictures of him yesterday, but i will try to get a cute video up soon.

for megan's baby blessing, we got together at fred & mary's home for a luncheon. jared & harmony's newphews are the other 3 boys, megan is the star in the middle, and jae is the most handsome of them all. :P

Halloween

Here's Jae on Halloween night. We went to Grandma Gilbert's house and helped pass out candy.

Jae wouldn't smile while in costume, so Jimmy tried to get him to smile... didn't work.

jae wasn't too thrilled when i was taking pictures. he was smiling before AND after! but, i couldn't wait, this costume cracks me up and he probably knows i'm laughing at him. poor kid.

yesterday morning i put jae down on his blanket and walked away. a minute later i heard a bunch of grunting. i looked over at him and he rolled over and his arm was stuck. he rolls on his left side or right side. i took a video of him at naptime today. he likes to talk instead of sleep. :P

last night we went to uncle fred & aunt mary's to see uncle richard & aunt rhea off before they entered the mtc. they were called to serve as a senior couple to santa maria brazil. it was fun to see a couple of the aunts and uncles and cousins! sandi was there and she just returned home from a mission (halifax canada). very fun catching up with her!

the highlight was this video i took of jae. i think jae's favorite aunty is april! when he was first cooing and such, she got him to talk for a while and last night she got him to giggle. jimmy finally got to hear his giggle! here's the cutest video of jae so far.. :) he is such a cutie!

Sunday 10.18.09

April let Camille and I rummage through her boy's clothes last year sometime... anyway, here is Jae wearing James' 0-3 month outfit. I wish I had a pic scanned in of Seth & James wearing it! I have one in a frame, just not on the computer.

And, here is sweet baby Jae hangin' out on the floor. We got back from taking family pictures and started cooking dinner. I went to check on Jae and he grabbed the corner of the blanket and started eating it.
