Row by Row Quilt Swap

Once again this year I took part in the Friendship Block Group's
Row by Row quilt swap, and once again I am amazed
with the beautiful work these ladies do.
Last year was so wonderful, that this year I signed up for both groups...
yes two quilts!!!  Which met I was also working on 4 other quilts in each group.

My first quilt theme was "My Sewing Room".
Row #1 is my starter row
Row #2 was done by Cindy F
Row #3 sewn by Pat H
Row #4 created by Nancy H
Row #5 completed by Angela B

My second quilt theme was "Anything Spring"
And this group of ladies came through beautifully.

Row #1 is my started row
Row #2 was created by Carol C
Row #3 was completed by Debbie M
Row #4 sewn by Cindy D
Row #5 was pieced by Linda S

I cannot thank these 8 ladies enough for the all
the hard work and thought they put into my rows.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!

And should there be any question as to whether I
will be participating in next year's swap....
Well Of Course I am, I already have my theme chosen.
But I will not join more than 1 group...WOW,
two groups was almost too much for this old chick :)

Mug Rugs & Doll Quilts

Here are some mug rugs I made.
I still love making these little cuties :)

And here are the most recent Doll Quilts I have made.

Really looking forward to the upcoming Fall and Christmas
sewing seasons.   Lots of mug rugs and doll quilts and whatever else I can find
to sew up...  Guess I could open that UFO tote for starters.

Blessings,
Terry

New Decor for My Backyard

Goodness it has been a busy summer here.
I have lots to catch up on, today I'm
starting with the latest yard decorations that we have added.

My new chicken coop & pen, my dear husband
did an awesome job, as usual.
And of course you need chickens to complete the picture...

Meet Blondie, she is such a sweet chick!

Next is Naomi & Ruth, they think they rule it all.

We also have the Four Sisters.
Nice quiet little chicks

And then there is Miss Red.
She is the completely tame pet chicken.
Miss Red isn't in the pen much during the
day as she likes to follow me around like a little puppy :)
She even comes running when I call her.
So she is the one who truly rules the backyard!!!!

Next post I will catch up on my summer crafting.

Hugs & Blessings,

Mother's Day

Hoping everyone had a wonderfully blessed Mother's Day.
I know I did.  Wishing my Mom a Very Happy Mother's Day.
And hoping she is still enjoying her flowers:)

Speaking of flowers...these are the ones I received from my oldest daughter.

So very pretty.  And daisies are my most favorite flower of all :)
Thank you so much Ang.

I also received a beautiful bracelet from my youngest daughter,
and lovely cards from some of my other children.  They all always pick out the sweetest cards.
And as I type this post my youngest son is turning over my veggie garden for me...tilling
that garden spot is a HUGE job, so I very much appreciate that.

My sweetheart of a husband took me to buy my fourth and final parakeet.
(Well I think it is my last one...hehehehe)
So without further delay I wish to introduce Indigo....

Isn't he pretty???
Now I have all the colors I was hoping for.

So here is my complete parakeet family...

Happy May.
Blessings to All
Hugs,
Terry

More Quilting...

These are my March & April BOMs from the new group I belong to.
My sister-in-law started the group called Quilts and Crafts For All.

I will be doing all my blocks in the blues and yellows
with a little bit of green here and there.

These little basket blocks are for the Spring Basket Swap over
at the Dear Jane Alternate Group.  I will very soon post a
picture of all the baskets I receive :)

Well this all my quilt block news for now.  My crafting will be slowing down some, since it is time to get the garden in and I have BIG plans for lots of work inside the house this Spring & Summer.  Maybe I will do some before and after pics :)

Terry

Doll Quilts, Mug Rugs, Wall Hangings, Gift Sets

Here is the little doll quilt I made
for the March swap at Doll Quilter's Monthly.
The March theme was animals.

Close up of the embroidery work.
Haven't done any for a while.
I forgot how much I like it :)

This is the doll quilt for the April Swap.
We were celebrating the group's Birthday with this swap.

I made these little mug rugs for my sister-in-law.
We swap mug rugs each month.  Lots of Fun!!!

This was a wall hanging I made for a swap.
The lady I made it for likes red & white.
So I used her colors and my favorite blocks.

These are a couple of gift sets I made for a Kitchen Swap
at the Country Scents Snail Mail Group I belong to.
I appliqued the pictures on the towels, added a little decorative stitching
and made the recipe cards.
The dish cloths were made by dear my sister-in-law:)

Happy Stitching to All,
Terry

April Card Making

These are the cards I made for swaps for the month of April.

Had great fun with these.  The challenges from the SSSD group
really help to get me to think outside of my comfort zone.

And now to focus on the wedding invitations for my son's wedding :)

Hugs & Blessings,

2013 Row by Row Quilt Robin

It's that time of the year again...
Yes, time for the Row by Row quilts.
Last year was so much fun and I really love my
Northwestern quilt rows.  I love them so much that
I joined in on not 1 but 2 Row by Rows this year!!!

The first theme is "My Sewing Room"
Here is my starter row, I can't wait to see
what rows the ladies add to this one :)

Every sewing room has to have a sewing basket...

And of course the good old tomato pin cushion.

Churn Dash, my favorite quilt block :)

The second theme is "Anything To Do With Spring"
After the long cold & snowy winter we had
I am ready for Spring!!!!

                 Bees, Hives, Flowers, and Kites...
                           Definitely Spring!!!!!

Now to wait and see what Spring brings to mind in the other ladies???

Our Bird Familes Are Growing

Meet Romeo & Juliet, our newest bird couple.
They are Lady Gouldian Finches.
His colors are really much brighter than what
they show in this picture, but it was the best picture I could get...
they move around a lot and are very quick!!!

I also added to our Parakeet family...
This little guy is named Jax, he is yellow, blue, and green.
Jax is pretty tame, I am able to hold him & he will set on my finger.
I am hoping he will calm the girls down, they are pretty wild and flighty.

...And Jax makes three.

I am so enjoying watching and listening to all my
new feathered friends.  I am still hoping to find one more
parakeet, 2 male canaries, and maybe 1 more pair of finches.
And I might like to add a pair of Love birds to my home, eventually:)

Good night & pleasant dreams from my newly established aviary.

 Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Paper Crafting

Here are the cards I made for the March card swaps
on the SSSD group.

I am hosting a new swap Punch Art on the group.
Every other month there is a theme to follow, and
only paper punches may be used to create our swaps.
The first month's theme was "Punch Art Critters"

These are the critters I made.

And these are the ones that everyone made...
they are all too cute!!!

The current challenge is
Punch Art People.
I can't wait to share those pictures with you:)

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Terry
