Look at Timp!

There was still lots of snow on the backside in the end of July!
Sweet ice tunnel with a river flowing through it

Ida amongst the wildflowers, rocks, and rills
Oh, yeah, we were going to ask a couple to take a picture of us on top of Timpanogos, when suddenly the guy proposed to his girlfriend, and asked John to take their picture. It was quite the creative, wind blowing, engagement spot!
Yo Adrian!
Yo Rocky!

Good ol' San Clemente

We had so much fun in Southern California with the Bennion Clan.
It was amazing to see the monster waves crash into the pier.

Christian, Mother Bennion, Krissy, and Stephanie all enjoying the shade
You look so natural Sarah!

What a fun vacation!

Stewart Falls & Timp Caves with the Sanwo's

John's family's friends from Fresno came to Utah and we were
so lucky to get to spend time with them.
Ouch that's cold water!

Thanks for inviting us, Melanie. We had a blast!

Zach is very daring!
Ready to go inside Timpanogos Caves

Which way is up?

Yummy ice cream and caramel. I want to lick it up.

It looks like we're underwater

Orderville Canyon (One of our many near death summer adventures)

John's excitement about the Zion Narrows made us curious to explore some other slot canyons in Zions. We decided to learn how to canyoneer Orderville Canyon, and with Selma's enthusiasm we felt unstoppable. We were so glad to have Christian and Stephanie hike with us, too!Easy so far. This is cake!!!
Sweet rock formations from rivers and flash flooding
Our first real obstacle.
We had to chimmey down a 10 foot drop-off into a chest-deep pool of muck.
Stephanie was brave and went first!!!
Selma isn't sure what she got herself into :)
Christian & Stephanie sittin' in a tree.
John's new white swim shorts. Whoops.
Selma, as beautiful as ever even with caked-on mud.

Our planned refuge area during a flash flood.
Stephanie didn't know she actually had Mono, but she was still a great sport!!
Sweet pic Selma!! You look so TOUGH!
More muck

Christian weeping under a weeping rock. Sad Christian.

John in a precarious situation
The next obstacle was a 15 foot drop-off. It was scary repelling into a pool of water not knowing how deep the water was. No complaints, though, at least the water was running and not muddy.
Selma was so anxious to jump off.
Check out that looming rock overhead.

We were so cold, tired, and wet we couldn't take any more pictures.
I know the pictures don't really capture the intensity or beauty we experienced. The hike was at times frightening but worth it overall. We were so relieved when the canyon finally joined with the Narrows because we knew we'd survive by that point. Thanks for babysitting, Josie, so Selma could come with us. We had a blast!!!
