Full Meridian
I have touched the highest point of all my greatness; And from that full meridian of my glory I haste now to my setting: I shall fall Like a bright exhalation in the evening, And no man see me more. William Shakespeare King Henry VIII. Act iii. Sc. 2.

The move
With the exception of some things I left in my neighbor's backyard and some boxes at Hadley's house, the move is finished!

What's the first thing that comes to mind?
I received an invitation to the annual family Christmas party. We also play gift games. Looks like we're going to try something new this year:
Please bring a gift for the "take away" game and also a gift in a brown paper bag for a new game.
I immediately thought of a gift. I'm curious if any of you thought the same thing. What would you bring?
One free song download
**FYI: It looks like you can download one free song per day. I'm building a collection of Eddie Money songs.**
Schick is offering a free song download. Use the code SCHICKROCKS08
I downloaded a song by A Flock of Seagulls before I realized there was a hefty selection of Eddie Money songs.

The crap people put on the web
It's not just a video of Charo's performance on Pee Wee's Playhouse; it's a video of a kid watching Charo's performance on Pee Wee's Playhouse.
Watch out, future children of mine. I will do this to you.
Del Rubio triplets
Nothing screeches Christmas quite like the Del Rubio triplets' performance on the Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas special. Take a good look at Cowboy Curtis. That's Laurence Fishburne. Enjoy!

Lucketts Groundhog
While I studied for exams today, Richard paid a visit to our favorite taxidermied groundhog.
No change in outfit, but now he has a candy cane. The candy cane reminds me of the canes men carry when they are wearing tuxedos and top hats. That, of course, reminds me of Joe Gentry.

Christmas gift ideas
I can't really tell you what I'm ordering from Print-On-Demand Shop. It's a gift for Richard, and he reads this blog. I can tell you that it's an awesome gift, so I'm recommending the URL.
If (1) curiousity is killing you, and (2) your name is not Richard, e-mail me, and I'll share the surprise.

Is Obama prank calling you?
Republican congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen hung up on Barack Obama twice, thinking the calls were pranks. I wonder if her refrigerator is running?

Christmas music du jour
25 Songs of Christmas counts down to the 25th by featuring one Christmas song each day. The kicker is that the author finds the songs objectionable for various reasons. The Prince song on December 1 cracks me up.
Today = Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime"

Holiday tips for PayPal shoppers
From Rob Pegoraro, Consumer Technology Columnist, The Washington Post:
Once again, PayPal is offering Web shoppers rebates on purchases through some retailers from now through December 22. Visit paypal.com/holidays to see the current deals from this online money-transfer service, an eBay subsidiary; for example, eBags offers $10 cash back on a $50 purchase, Overstock.com gives 15 percent back and, at a more generous extreme, Wine Enthusiast offers 20 percent off plus 5 percent cash back. Other merchants offer smaller discounts or only free shipping. I took advantage of this offer last year and was pleased to see the advertised rebate land in my PayPal account less than two weeks after my purchase. It's a good way to trim the price of your gift shopping--but if you're considering costlier electronic items and can buy them with a credit card that extends the manufacturer's standard warranty, that card's extended coverage will usually provide a better value than PayPal's rebates.
