Feeling a Little Less Guilty About TV Today

Fletcher's preschool teacher reported that today he came in from playing outside and informed her that it was sweltering out there. (It's been 113.) That's a word learned from one of our favorite PBS shows, Wordgirl.

Sanctuary Has a New Salon Manager

My new job has sure taken up a lot of my time, but I most certainly am loving it! Here are a couple pictures. The first is a picture of me and a few of my stylists at the Salon on a low key Thursday. And the second is a group of Sanctuary staff members that volunteered for me to be in the Annual Back to School Fashion Show that I helped coordinate.

In the Fish Tank

We had a great time with Taylor, Kate and the boys today at the California Academy of Science here in San Francisco. Here is the gang at the aquarium. Cool place - it is like being inside the fish tank.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY JACK BAUER!

Bet you thought we didn't have any family birthdays in the month of August but NOT SO.
Bren & Ally's little pooch will be celebrating his birthday August 25th.

Happy Early Birthday Jack Bauer! (I don't have a pic of Jack Bauer & Skyler but Skyler adores him - have to get a pic of them on our next visit.) Now how cute is this pic - Taylor and Bauer both modeling their 'gator clothes!
(We'll be beaching for 3 days next week with those Tampa Florida Fletchers - dad and I are excited.)

School Rules!

Here is Brighton with the count down chalkboard in our kitchen last night after her father's blessing. Sounds like it will be a good year but my baby is growing up!

She's wearing her new glasses she earned up the money for, chose out, and paid for and her new present she got for the first day. (Read the shirt:)

This is the scene in front of our house waiting to get on the bus. Not pictured is the other stroller and 2 of my friends there to go jogging. When the driver pulled up and only she got on he waited and said, "Is she the only one?" Seemed normal to us but I guess it is a lot of kids. All this production was for just one sweet 7 yr old.

Why Fresno, California?

Phoenix is too hot during the summer and San Francisco too cold so we met somewhere in the middle for perfect summer temps - Fresno.
(refer to quote below by Mark Twain on San Francisco.)
Dad was seeing patients in Fresno and it was not a far drive for the Watsons after their San Diego family reunion so we met there. Great fun we had playing in the hotel swimming pool, hitting the $1.00 store, the $3.00 theatre and introducing the grandkids to one of Gramma's favorites- root beer floats! What a FUN 3 day mini vacation we had and can't wait to have a mini vacation with Brendan, Ally and Skyler later this month on the Florida beach.
"Legend has it that Mark Twain once said the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

Thanx Tiff for our new stunna shadz!

Taylor had mentioned in one of his letters that his eyes were swollen and red so we figured it must be the hot Mexican sun causing the redness. Tiff, the "Shop Until you Drop Queen" found some great sunglasses at a knock off store in San Francisco - 3 pairs of glasses for only $20.00! Such fashionable missionaries will now be knocking doors in El Furete, Mexico.
Taylor's comment in his last letter- "Thanks Tiff for our new stunna shadz."
