Lots happening on the home front and abroad.
This lovely home located at
2545 Timpview Drive, Provo, Utah
has been under construction for months but this month changes are coming. You won't even recognize the inside once we list it (which is a very good thing). As usual, it's been way more work, time and money than planned but hopefully worth it in the end.
The house below is our Texas kitchen during destruction. Eric is all thumbs up at this point...
Paul and Laura have been life savers, especially Laura as she has been the middle man, I mean woman, when Eric has had to travel for work or come to Utah on the weekends. She says, "it's coming along nicely." She has kept much of it a secret as Eric wants it to be a big reveal when we all move in.
Just a sneak peak...

The guy knocked on the door during a week night around 9:30 as the kids and I were saying prayers. Boston answered the door and immediately slammed it shut screaming, "Mom, there's a lady in a yellow hat staring at me!" He was freaked out to say the least which in turn freaked the rest of the kids out and all hell broke lose at that point. There was gnashing and whaling of teeth. Because we don't have a peep hole at the door and there are no windows to see the front porch, it took me a bit before I got my brave on to open it again. I went to the top of the stairs where I could see out a bit and saw a little body running across the lawn. This gave me the courage to open the door to find "Mitch." I grabbed Mitch by the neck and drug him on the lawn, warning whoever was responsible to come out of hiding. In the mean time, Kennedy was holed up with the boys in my bedroom, calling 911! I had to call off the troops and tell the dispatcher that everything was OK and that it was just the neighbor kids being funny. Ha ha. And then power went out:)

The hooligans:)
Boston was trembling with fear and spent the evening curled up in a ball on my lap.
Kennedy was sobbing with fear for at least 30 minutes and spent the next couple nights in my bed, along with Boston. They're a package deal at night. Keeping it exciting on Mesquite Way.
My mom and Hudson drove to Rexburg to pick Hunter up from college and made a pit stop in Utah. So nice of them to come say hello. They all looked great and were fun to spend time with if only for a day. They came to watch Kennedy play volleyball.
Her season wrapped up mid April. She had a great experience and as you can see was the tallest on her team yet she was the main setter.
I include these thank you notes from the twins birthday because they were "note worthy."
The only indication I have that Easter took place around here. Boston was the only one who really cared about a basket. I must be getting old.
Cedar Hills 17th Ward Young Women in Excellence group. Kennedy has grown to love and appreciate these girls.
I am a hypocrite. I swore I was never getting eye lash extensions again but I caved. I needed a face lift or something. Eye lashes are much less expensive than a face lift and seem to be helping my mood. I really hate to get up close and comfortable with myself. A little bit of distance is a good thing.
Sure glad I hung on to all the dress up stuff. The neighbor kids and Boston love to dress up and run around the neighborhood begging for food.
We listed this lovely sofa on KSL and someone finally bought it, markers, spills, deflated cushions and all. I got a whopping $200 for it. Depreciation stinks.
Emily (my niece) graduated from BYU so we got to see Mike and Marie, Christian and Eric's parents. We celebrated Sonia's (Mom Bateman) birthday. The kids helped her blow out her candle. She's the happiest 76 year old I know.
Boston hit a monster home run on Monday night around 10 pm. It cleared the fence and then some. He was lit up!
It snowed a few times in April and I loved it! Any change in the weather I welcome.
The twins advanced to 1st class with their scouting, well on their way to their Eagle. They went on their first overnighter as 12 year olds to Goblin Valley and couldn't stop talking about their amazing experience. They have awesome leaders and fellow scouters.
Just because:) I love these boys.
Kennedy and Makayla hit up the Timpanogas Temple for baptisms and came out happy as could be. Such pure, sweet girls.
Do you like Eric's list of supplies? You have to get creative when on a construction site. We were picking up supplies for the Provo flip.
Eric rented this go cart at the airport and it served us quite well. We jammed it full of lights, lumber and door knobs. I had to move the gear shift for Eric. It was pretty funny to see him getting in and out of that thing. #wedontdoanythingnormal
I've been sorting through bins preparatory for the big move, and these documents were ready for shredding. Have you priced out shredding? It's crazy expensive. We decided the next best thing would be to have a bon fire and burn 1998-2006.
Eric wasn't messing around. He doused the pit with gas and we were up and running.
The Wallis' joined us for moral support. They are the best friends. We are trying to convince them to move to Houston with us. This is one sales job that Eric hasn't quite been able to accomplish.
Christian knows what he's doing around a fire. Eagle scout there.
Katelyn is the little sister the twins never had. She's actually more like their mom. She's in their classroom and is always looking out for them. She's been a real treasure.
Boston and Hogan chillin. Hogan is quiet and funny and a friend to everyone.
Mike kept the fire under control. It was a big job as Eric spent most of the time reminiscing over the files.
Kennedy wasn't feeling well and pretty much stayed bundled the whole evening. Turns out she had a sinus infection and a virus.
One of the many documents we've been holding onto. I found a budget sheet from when we were first married - we lived on $1700/month. Our rent was $375. Those were the days.
Mike and Melinda are two of the most kind hearted people I know. I'm getting teary thinking about leaving them...
Speaking of tears, Eric is shedding one right here. The burning exercise was a bit rough on him:)
We roasted s'mores while Bishop Bateman gave us a sermon and we all told funny experiences or stories.
Friends forever
Yum!
The evening was a somber/happy (is that possible to have both?) reminder of where we've been. Good times.
Found this in a pocket doing laundry. She said yes but not to tell anybody. Interesting...
I set some ground rules after this:)
All I wanted was cold night cap. I hate it when this happens! At least it was my freezer and not my mom's (yes I've done this before). Price I will pay for my addiction. It's worth it.
Thought I'd leave the post with this gem. I owned that mushroom do and I earned that blue ribbon. 10 years in 4-H taught me many life lessons. Wish I had the energy and patience and time to give my kids the same experience but they'll just have to take my word for it.
May is up next (already a week in) and I am sure it will be filled with Flowers:)
