The UN and UNRWA

Last week the UN voted to keep funding UNRWA for another 3 years, even though it has been proven that they were encouraging and helping Hamas. They have kept the about 700,000 Palestinians who were displaced in 1948 as permanent refugees even until the 3rd generation. Now UNRWA defines almost 6 million as permanent refugees, fueling violence and hardship. They have created 30,000 jobs for themselves by doing this. Now, they are angry that Israel is not allowing them an office in Jerusalem.

UNRWA Terrorists

UNHCR (The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is the UN's agency to aid refugees .

However a different, unique, and special agency was created in 1949. It was called UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East). It's mission was to provide direct assistance specifically and only for Palestinian Arab refugees and their descendants in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, East Jerusalem, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.

* * * The question"How are you?"can be answered in two ways.
The first is "I'm Fine, and how are you?"

The alternate answer is "My family doctor checked me out and said that my lungs were clear and it looked like clear sailing from here on. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

Then, yesterday, I went to a renowned lung specialist

1. He said that my lungs were NOT in good shape
2. He sent me for a CT examination.
3. He said I'm in danger of "Sleep Apnea" and prescribed an inhaler.
4. He said that my sitting in a chair for he last six months and munching cheese sandwiches had resulted in my putting on a great deal of excess weight, which I now must immediately shed.

I left his office wallowing in a deep pit of dark depression and self-pity.
That was yesterday.

I've immediately given up the yummy cheese sandwiches and am now munching on green salads (part of a rigorous dietary program) and the LSW (Long Suffering Wife) bought me an inhaler
I'm also working on trying to see the bright side of the situation,
BTW, the LSW has just been diagnosed with cataracts!

According to The Times of Israel:

The liberal Middle East advocacy group J Street excoriated the defunding decision, saying it would weaken PA President Mahmoud Abbas and make it more difficult for him enter formalized peace talks.

“This decision continues the administration’s disturbing pattern of actions that ignore the recommendations of US and Israeli intelligence and military leaders and appear designed to exacerbate suffering among the Palestinian people and marginalize the Palestinian Authority leadership,” the organization’s president, Jeremy Ben-Ami, said in a statement, adding that it was “recklessly endangering the security of Israel and countries across the region.”

Senator Dianne Feinstein also suggested that pulling the aid would hurt Israel by undercutting the PA and materially harming the quality of Palestinian life.

“Further impoverishing Palestinians only empowers extremists, undermines the P.A. and harms Israel’s security,” the California Democrat said. “Completely cutting off funding to UNRWA is inhumane and undermines our own interests in the region.”-more
