Sa’ed Mamuzini, spokesman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) office in Mosul, told BasNews that IS militants arrested five women who worked as fortunetellers, beheaded them and threw out their bodies. “After putting them on trial in Mosul, the militants beheaded them,” added Mamuzini. He said that the women were Arabs and were arrested about a month ago on charges of acting against the religion of Islam.........

Men grabbed weapons and set out for the hills to prepare for an eventual attack by the terrorist group. “We all know that if they come, they will slit our throats for no reason,” said one resident. It is the first time civilians have picked up weapons in the nation since the end of the Lebanon civil war. The majority of these weapons come from communist militias and Hezbollah, the Associated Press notes, but Christians say they do not care if the weapons raise tensions in the country. They believe the threat is real and need to rely on self-defense. Samir Geagea, a Lebanese politician running for president, spoke out against ISIS and urged everyone in Lebanon to unite. “ISIS is a cancerous tumor that surfaced at first in parts of Iraq and Syria and it's still contained to a certain point and this can be removed only if we join our efforts via an international Arab alliance,” he said. “If they're trying to intimidate us then do not fear them. ... Those who faced major challenges and the likes of ISIS throughout history should not fear those today.” ISIS does not have a strong presence in Lebanon, but the terrorist group pops up around the country. They attacked Arsal in August. It is a border town with 40,000 residents, but is also a city for Syrians who fled their civil war. The United Nations said over 1.1 million people registered as refugees in Arsal. One man said shelling burned down one refugee camp. The Lebanese Army fought off the terrorists, but ISIS managed to escape with Lebanon weapons and vehicles.....
The article had made it seem that the beheadings were staged. The start to at least one of the videos was staged, many experts have opined to that, but the article seemed to go beyond that and imply that the entire thing was rigged to give the USA an excuse to skip their way into Iraq and beyond. This is not a case of just the Al Jazeera's journalists believing that USA is capable of such vile acts to attain its political goals, it's an opinion shared by the majority of human beings on this planet. Remember the world's horror at Daniel Pearl's beheading? I don't recall any one raising any doubts about that beheading. We have come a long way from that day. USA's credibility has been sinking with each new day and it's never ever going to rise by even an inch from the sinkhole it has fallen into, it's only going to sink deeper and deeper into nowhere. Even when the Americans are genuinely stating facts the way they see them, you will find less and less people outside America believing them. It's the new norm... and the USA better get used to it.

A graphic video obtained by NBC News purportedly shows James Wright Foley, a freelance reporter for the U.S.-based news service GlobalPost who was kidnapped while reporting from Syria two years ago, reciting threats against America before he is executed by an ISIS militant. The militant heard in the video speaks in English. The terrorist video shows footage of Obama speaking from the White House on the day he told Americans he had authorized airstrikes in Iraq...........

The organization considered the atrocities in the two regions to meet the legal definition of genocide or crimes against humanity. It called on the United Nations and the International Criminal Court to investigate. The organization said “there is a national grassroots campaign to include acts of violence in Iraq as crimes of genocide.” In a report cited by Al Sumariya, it was disclosed that “on the 12th and 13th of June, armed groups stormed the village of Bashir which is located in the south of Kirkuk and four villages in Taza Khurmatu, armed with the latest weaponry as well as military vehicles seized after clashes with the Iraqi army.” The organization added that “those groups began immediately committing serious human rights violations which can be described as crimes against humanity and genocide according to the provisions of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948,” noting that “women and children bore the largest share of such violations because they could not escape, however men managed to escape into Taza Khurmatu, fearing from the oppression terrorists.” The organization said that “gunmen crucified men and women after killing them with electricity. Among those cases were a ten-year-old child according to reports from witnesses and local sources of the campaign,” pointing out that “one of the most heinous crimes was the breaking into a house and slaughtering the entire family, including about five babies who were beheaded.”
ISIS has started a Twitter hashtag #CalamityWillBefallUS and has sent out a notification to all their murderers and sympathizers of murderers and beheaders, requesting that they use the hashtag to threaten and intimidate Americans. I like visiting the hashtag and belittling the scum found there.

Militants from the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, Sham al-Islam and Ansar al-Sham attacked Kessab on the Turkish border early on Friday 21 March. Around 3,000 Armenian Christian residents fled for their lives, taking refuge in neighbouring Latakia and Bassit. Some are staying with relatives and friends, but the rest are sheltering in over-crowded church buildings. A dozen or so families with members too elderly to leave remained in Kessab and were subsequently taken hostage. Barnabas Fund partners in Syria have been helping the displaced Christian families, who fled empty-handed. We are providing food, clothing, hygiene materials and other essentials. Following the Islamist takeover of Kessab, a strategically important town, the Syrian army launched a counter-offensive in an effort to regain control of the territory, and fighting has continued. Kessab was the last border crossing with Turkey still in Syrian government hands. It had previously been relatively peaceful and was full of refugees who had fled violence in other parts of Syria.
Turkey, which has sided with the rebels in the Syrian civil war and provided access for fighters, money and supplies, allowed hundreds of Islamist militants to cross its border on Friday to attack Kessab. Tensions between the Syrian government and Turkey intensified when the Turkish military shot down a Syrian fighter jet that crossed its border on Sunday during a battle over the town. The Armenian National Committee – International condemned the attacks on Kessab and Turkey’s role in them, adding: For months, we have warned the international community of the imminent threat posed by extremist foreign fighters against the Christian minority population in Syria. Rejecting conversion to Islam or death, some 20 Christian leaders of that city held firm in their faith and submitted to the Islamists’ demands to live by as dhimmis.
Under this arrangement, in exchange for their lives and the ability to worship as Christians, they must abide by purported seventh-century rules of the Caliph Umar. According to the Raqqa ultimatum, these include bans on renovating and rebuilding churches and monasteries, many of which need repair because they’ve been shelled and blown up over the past three years, and bans against the public display of crosses and Christian symbols and the ringing of bells. They are forbidden from reading scripture indoors loud enough for Muslims outside to hear, and the practice of their faith must be confined within the walls of their remaining churches, not exercised publicly (at, for example, funeral or wedding processions). They are prohibited from saying anything offensive about Muslims or Islam. The women must be enshrouded, and alcohol is banned. And the Raqqa Christians, who numbered about 3,000 before the conflict diminished them through migration and deaths, must henceforth pay the jizya, or Islamic protection money. The ultimatum sets the jizya at four golden dinars for the rich, two for those of average income, and one for the poor, twice annually, for each adult Christian.........

From FidesNews: ....Young Christian killed and beheaded by jihadists. Islamist groups have killed and beheaded a young Christian man, seriously wounding another. The incident, which occurred on 8 January, was reported to Fides only now by a priest in the diocese of Homs. The two, Firas Nader (29), and Fadi Matanius Mattah (34), were traveling by car from Homs to the Christian village of Marmarita. A group of five armed jihadists intercepted the vehicle and opened fire on the car. Upon reaching the car, militiamen, noting that Fadi was wearing a cross around his neck, beheaded him. They then took money and documents, leaving Firas on the ground wounded, believing he was already dead. Firas instead managed to escape, reaching the town of Almshtaeih on foot and was then transferred to the hospital in Tartou. Some of the faithful were able to recover the body of Mattah, bringing him to Marmarita, where the local Christian community expressed strong indignation for the horrible act carried out. According to a statement sent to Fides by Aid to the Church in Need" (ACN), violence against Christians in Syria, is becoming "one of the worst persecutions endured by Christians in this part of the third millennium". According to the latest reports, more than 600,000 Christians - a third of the total Syrian faithful - are internally displaced or living as refugees in neighboring countries. Christian leaders confirm the massive exodus of Christians from Syria, which could seriously jeopardize the future of Christians in the nation............

Malak Hamoud, the writer of the article, says al-Qaeda’s active offshoot in Syria, the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL), which was previously just Islamic State of Iraq during the years of wars in Iraq is gaining more power in the social media, silencing almost every strong voice that is raised against them, Al-Alam reported. The author says it is surprising that how al-Qaeda has come to get this much power; “Do it destroy them and make them invisible?” The ISIL which is called “Daesh” in Arabic, is forcing itself in all types of media, reports, TV programs and now it is raising up in the internet space. The group’s unique and unprecedented way of extremism, along with its media boosts, have made a unique image of this terrorist group for the viewers. “Daesh has made it possible for everyone to follow its acts and behaviors and this is very dangerous, especially if the follower has some sense of extremism him/herself.” Daesh writes in its Twitter account that, “The Islamic State of Iraq and Levant is stable and will remain firm with the help of God, Divine rules will be implemented by it and violated rights of Muslims will be regained”. Daesh considers anyone who rejects this, even Muslims, as enemies and a killing target. These “new invaders”, as the writer describes, try to show themselves as traditional and committed to Sunnat (traditional way of life), but they are moving forward with the modern life and benefit from every new technology. They have several Twitter accounts with different names, each with a different mission; “Lions of the Islamic State”, “Falcons of the Islamic State”, Companions of the Islamic State”, and “Shaam State” are among the most famous ones..............

They triumphantly described the execution of what they said was a member of an Iraqi Shia militia fighting for President Bashar al-Assad. But the head was recognised from the video as originally belonging to a member of Ahrar al-Sham, a Sunni Islamist rebel group that often fights alongside ISIS though it does not share its al-Qaeda ideology..........

The kingdom is considering ending execution by beheading in favor of firing squads, reports the Egyptian English-language news website Ahram Online. A committee consisting of representatives from the Ministries of Interior, Justice and Health says there are shortages in government swordsmen and argue that a change to execution by firing squad would not violate Islamic law, the Saudi daily newspaper al-Youm writes. According to an official statement from the committee, “This solution seems practical, especially in light of shortages in official swordsmen or their belated arrival to execution yards in some incidents.” Execution by beheading in Saudi Arabia has continually been condemned by human-rights groups. According to Human Rights Watch (HRW), at least 69 people were executed by beheading in 2012, while Amnesty International says 79 were killed under the death penalty in the same period. In 2012 HRW wrote, “Saudi Arabia has no penal code, so prosecutors and judges largely define criminal offenses at their discretion.” Rape, murder, armed robbery, drug trafficking and even suspected “sorcery” are punishable by death under Saudi Arabia’s Islamic law. The Saudi death penalty recently made headlines following the execution of Rizana Nafeek, a young Sri Lankan woman who was beheaded for the murder of her employers’ 4-month-old son. Nafeek arrived in Saudi Arabia in 2005 at age 17 but spent the next seven years in Saudi jails after the baby died under her care, writes CNN. The family of the boy believed he had been strangled by Nafeek, while she claimed he had choked on his milk. The young Sri Lankan immigrant had no access to a lawyer during her pretrial interrogation during which she said she was forced to sign a confession, notes CNN. The execution of this young woman revealed how “woefully out of step they [the Saudi justice system] are with their international obligations regarding the use of the death penalty,” said Philip Luther from Amnesty International. It highlighted how Saudi law tends to treat children as adults in criminal cases even though international law prohibits the death penalty for crimes committed before the age of 18, writes HRW.....

I read some comments elsewhere that the caveman tried to behead the victim but couldn't find a credible link of that being a fact ... so I guess it was an assumption or a rumor or as matters always are when it comes to protecting that prize segment of our population ... the facts will leak out a bit later, but they always do no matter how much the media tries to shield the criminals. Mr. Parker was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital around 2 a.m., and died from severe head wounds shortly after midnight Sunday. Police have charged a 23-year-old man with first-degree murder..... .......It’s unclear how many times Mr. Parker was stabbed but his most serious injury was a knife wound that went through the back of his head and through his brain, Mr. Michaels said........ From CBC: ....Markham, Ont., firefighter dies in unprovoked café attack. Dominic Parker, 45, died in hospital 2 days after weekend attack. Off-duty Markham, Ont., firefighter Dominic Parker was fatally stabbed "without provocation" at a Toronto café last weekend, and a man now faces a first-degree murder charge, police say. The stabbing occurred at the Rotana Café at 1530 Danforth Ave. near Coxwell, shortly after 1 a.m. ET on Saturday. Police said the stabbing victim had ridden his bike to the café and had stopped in for a tea. He was sitting when he was attacked.
