The Loot

When we got home I made the kids dump out the loot and pick 5 things they wanted.  The rest I took/put away for, I’m not really sure what, other than a big dentist bill!  They were really fine with it, they know their Mother by now, there is no way I was going to let them eat all of that candy!

Ashley and Justin picked out their big sized candy bars and soda pops for their 5 things.

Claire and Emma picked bubble gum, and suckers, it was really interesting to me?!  Funny kids.

Glad to be done for another year, Halloween is a lot of work!  We almost missed breakfast and the bus this morning.  The kids were all up, just not the Mom!

School Parties

This year the elementary kids trick or treated around the school.  It was fun, all classes stopped to see the little’s in their costumes.  We ran into Ashley in PE.  It was very sad to me that her class doesn’t do a party or dress up anymore, really not cool!  Rett was happy to see her amongst all of those big kids.

Justin’s teacher has a reading corner full of bean bags that Rett loved.  He wasn’t loving anything because I had woken him up from his nap to go into the school so this was good. 

Claire and Jaci both had wings.

I saw Emma off and on, but didn’t get any pictures of her.  She had a great party too.

This Year’s Costumes

This year I threw together everyone's costumes.  I am buying next years costumes this week!  Thankfully everyone liked what I came up with, surprisingly.

Claire was a Halloween fairy, but then after the school parties she was calling herself the Halloween TOOTH fairy, that was cute.  I did some delicate pretty makeup on her and then she finished herself off.  She looks like a beat up tooth fairy!

Ash and Emma loved the fake eyelashes, they were fun.  Ash is little red riding hood, Emma was Delilah (from Samson and Delilah), Justin was a ninja ghost, and Rett got some new orange jammies.  I couldn’t really be expected to come up with 5 costumes this year could I?

Ryan is Therber off of Gold Rush, he looked just like him!

We had the best weather I have ever seen for a Halloween in my life!  We didn’t even wear jackets, it was perfect for costumes and trick or treating.

Tiffany & Co

Look what I got!!  REAL Tiffany jewelry!  I am still in shock myself!

I tell you what, there is something to be said about fine jewelry!  Isn’t the box so pretty!

I built some benches for our friends who just moved into their new house and I wanted to do it for a housewarming gift.  She wouldn’t go for that so she gave me this beautiful Infinity necklace from Tiffany’s (did I mention that????)

The only thing I can really compare it too is eating generic corn flakes your whole life and then finally trying the real thing, I can tell I am not going to want to go back to my old ways!  It is so sparkly and pretty!  Thanks Deanna, I love it!

SOLD!

Also this busy weekend, I was able to get the old Suburban sold, I have had it sold 2 or 3 times, but these people finally showed me the money!  I actually was a little sad, I know weird!

Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend.  Sara and I had a housewarming/get together Friday night.  The kids were out of school so I had them to help me get stuff ready, which was nice.  By the time the party came my feet were killing me, I cant imagine how Sara’s were feeling, being 8 months pregnant!  It is always a lot of work but we had a lot of fun.  We served soup, rolls, pumpkin desserts, hot cocoa bar, and orange sparkly drinks.  We had friends and neighbors, everyone’s only complaint was where were the husbands?  They finished the night with 24 rows left to dig.  So close to finishing!  The party turned out good, it was fun to laugh until my cheeks hurt!

Saturday morning we had 2 dance classes to run back and forth to a birthday party for one of Justin’s friends, and then Ashley’s class was having a horse trailer wash/ fundraiser.  It was a little hectic and busy!  Ashley’s class is going to Yellowstone in the spring, so they are having lots of fundraisers. 

It was cold, but still a pretty nice day.  Ashley insisted on bringing in a trailer.  Daniel was able to bring it down with the duramax so it could be washed out.  It was BAD!  The kids had a ball scooping it out though.  I’m pretty sure it has not been washed out since we bought it!  It and the duramax are squeaky clean now!

We had a good time with all of her friends and parents. 

Ryan finished up the beets early Saturday morning!  Yippeee!!!  We were so excited!  All of the crops are harvested for the year!  It is a great feeling to be done and most importantly with no accidents.  We had a quiet night at home with a movie and some sticky caramel corn!  Here’s to some lovely winter evenings, and hopefully not as busy weekends!

Bubbles!

This baby boy loves bubbles.  I grabbed some suds out of the washer and put them no his hand.  He thought they were great.  He can even say bubbles, he is getting quite a vocabulary now.  We love asking him to say things, he will try any word, so it is fun to see his translation!  Here is the bubbly boy!

A Bad Sign

I know harvest is going to drag on a few more days when Ryan shows up with flowers……  It was very sweet of him though.

They have moved to their last field but are having major break downs.  We can do this!  Almost there!  PLEASE be almost there…

Pumpkin Carving

I love that fall has so many activities and good things to do.  Ryan got rained out Monday night so he came home early enough to carve pumpkins.  The girls jumped right in and got theirs all cleaned out,

Justin on the other hand….

Ryan couldn’t stand that his man child needed rubber gloves, (Justin takes after his neat freak Dad).  He made Justin take the gloves off, it was funny, at least all the girls thought it was funny! 

Claire didn’t like the feel of the inside either, but she definitely didn’t need gloves!

Straw Maze

After we went to the pumpkin patch we went over to the straw maze south of Burley.  I was nervous to try and keep track of all of our littles but we didn’t lose anyone in the maze!

I like the straw maze a lot better than the corn maze.  It was clean inside, no mud, and no wind at all.  It was really fun!  (Rett is hiding behind Ashley.  He was NOT wild about that witch!)

Sunday Shots

Ashley and the kids put on a production for us tonight.  It has been a while, we are glad she hasn’t out grown it yet!  This was a fancy play with costumes, acts, and my least favorite, makeup! 

Little brother does not get to be in any plays yet, he doesn’t do his part when he is told like everyone else does.

Claire and I rode out with Ryan to check on things.  He doesn’t have any time (in the light) to check his farms up here.  Everything is still there, thankfully!  Dan got the roof put on the shop.  I am so excited to have this done for winter.  I am picturing Ryan around a lot more working on projects in here.  I just hope it doesn’t blow away or cave in from too much snow again!

I think Sunday drives are going to be limited to only Mom and Dad.  This girl jabbered our ear off and only wanted to do what she wants to do.  That red-head personality is definitely shining through!

She had a standoff with Dan’s puppy.  She is not an animal lover.  She is scared to death!  She used her umbrella on him to get away.  The puppy was really cute.

Back to the grind on Monday.  It is supposed to rain and snow all week, I hope the forecast wrong!!  We just need one more week to finish these beets!

Pumpkin Patch

We made a trip down to the pumpkin patch in Paul.  Ryan is digging beets just a few miles from there so we went after we saw him.  I am always amazed by this patch!  He grows so many pumpkins and then he does all sorts of genetics and makes cool squashes and pumpkins with warts and all sorts of weird things!

The patch was still completely full of pumpkins besides all of the ones up in his yard!  We had a great time checking them all out.
