I Love A Parade! Riverton Town Days

Everyone that knows me...knows I get a little giddy when there is a parade going by!  I can't explain it...and if you are not a parade lover you will never understand it.  I have been trying to help my husband catch the fever for 13 years and it hasn't worked yet....wont stop me from trying though :)

I love it when the police come by to start the parade....sirens blaring and the cool formations they do.  Also when they will drive by the side of the road and give all the kids a high five!

Sherrifs Posse have been in the parade for as long as I can
remember and longer I am sure!

Now that's the kind of  parade face I like to see
We always love it when the QUEEN'S come by!

They didn't have a trailer this year so Ty was not in the parade with
his Karate group.
We love United Studio of Self Defense-Riverton!!!

4-H Representing in the parade

Steph's friend Amy lives right on Redwood Road and this year they invited
us to join them to watch the parade.  We had a BBQ and front row seats.
It doesn't get better than that!!!

Me and Steph

Love that face and the action shot!!!

We went to the carnival and let the kids go on a few rides after the parade.
They had a blast.  I love that my kids have awesome cousins to play with.

Ending the day HAPPY!!!

Herriman 5k With the Family

Here we are on the lovely morning of Saturday June 26th around 6:40 am headed over to the park for the Herriman Step Rock Run. We got to bed late the night before because of the fun we had up in Park City for JetBlue's 10th anniversary celebration. Can you tell from this picture who woke up in a bad mood????? II can't blame the poor girl!  That is very early to get up and try to be chipper with not enough sleep.

It was a great feeling to have everyone at the finish line! My cute mom won third place in her age group! Woohoo! And Ty won first place in his age group and Emily won second place in her age group. Now the most amazing part is that Adrienne and TWO year old Jolie ran it! And Ade is 8 months pregnant! She is uNbElIeVaBlE!!!!! I think her baby is going to come out running!!!
It was a hard race for the kids but afterwards they were really proud to be able to say they did it!  And I am so proud of my little family!

Ali's 4th Grade Program

Steph and Dave couldn't make it to Ali's 4th grade program so me and the kids went to support her.  It was a great program and Ali sang her little heart out!  She also was able to present her county report in her class room so we went to check it out.  She was assigned Kane County and we think she did terrific!!!
Way to go Ali!

Emily Ty and Hayley's July MiniRiders Show

We had a great day over at the West Jordan Arena!  We got our usual parking spot in the shade and were ready for  some fun!  Andy stayed home because baby Lily is too small to bring to a dusty, dirty, hot horseshow so it was just me, my mom, Joe and his parents Rob and Virginia.  But we had a great day!

~Ty and his best gal Hayley~
Such cute kids!!!!

Hayley started out on Tahoe and got a blue in Halter and Western Pleasure but when the speed events came Tahoe decided that he was going to run a 19 like in his glory days and took off way too fast for Hay.  He ran down to the end pole and did the most beautiful turn you have ever seen but it was also at a speed that was way to much for Hay to control so they came right back down to the starting line and Tahoe went right and Hay went left so she fell off.  She was really shaken up.  When I ran out and scooped her up from the ground she cried to me and said "Hil, I am so glad that I am wearing my helmet!"  She had a mouth full of dirt and was so brave to get back on a horse and finish all of the events.  ALL THREE of the kids rode sweet little COCO! in all of the speed events.  She is such an awesome horse and I was so proud of Hayley for being so brave!

Ty on Barrels
Emily's best friend from her 3rd grade class was at the show!  They were so excited to see each other!!!  Her name is Adrianna and we got to watch her run the poles.  She is in the assisted class.

This is a picture of Emily in Western Pleasure having a talk with the judge just after she backed her horse.  Emily has been having a hard time sitting up straight and keeping her toes out in front of her.  She ended up when she was trotting in the class, kicking Coco and not realizing that was what she was doing so then Coco starting to lope.  This happenend every time they were trotting so then Em started to panic and cried in the class and did a few shout outs too.  The judge had some great advice for her and I am hoping it helps her be a better rider.  It is so much easier to take from someone OTHER than your MOTHER who is always telling you what to do!
