Quotable Moments

Keely volunteered to help me clean something, so I was explaining to her how to do it. When I was done Nicholas said "And that has been...another boring cleaning lesson with Mom!"
Zachary killed a wasp that had been in our house for 2 days. Corrinna said "Yay! Now we can live in this house forever!"
Corrinna convinced Nathan to throw her around in the pool a little longer after he said he was done. He asked her "Why do you get everything you want?" and without skipping a beat she replies, "Because I'm beautiful!"
When we were packing items to bring for the kids to do in the car on the way to the beach, Zachary saw that Keely had packed a workbook. He said "You're bringing LEARNING to the beach? You don't bring LEARNING to the beach!!!!!!" She didn't see anything wrong with it, and neither do I :)
I was sick and asked Corrinna if she was going to help take care of me the next day when Daddy went to work. She said "You're not a baby!" I said, no, but that when she was sick I took care of her by making sure she was cozy and had everything she needed. She said "No, get the boys!"
We were getting ready to go swimming, so I told Corrinna it was time to get on her swim diaper. She said "Can I take off my wearing diaper?"
The kids were singing the ABC song with Corrinna. When it got to the end and she heard them all singing "Now I know my ABC's.." She made a face and said, "NO! Not YOUR ABC's, MY ABC's!" Oh...apparently the alphabet belongs to Corrinna :) You can tell she is *the baby* of the family as we have all gone along with this, and they are HER ABC's :)
Keely wanted to play with Alicia and a friend she had over but was trying to get me to ask them if she could for her. I said she needed to ask herself, and she replied "MOM! You know my issues! I'm too shy!"
Keely suddenly said to me the other day, "Your favorite color should be blue. I mean, have you SEEN blue? It's beautiful!"
Corrinna came into the bathroom during my bath and noticed I had a candle lit. She said "You have a candle! It's *happy to you* tomorrow?" (that's how she says Happy Birthday)
One day Keely was having her friend Maddie come home from school with us, and Corrinna was really excited about it. When it was time to pick them up from school, I told her "Yay, it's time to get Keely and Maddie and the boys!" and she said "No, we don't have to get the boys!"
One night I was taking a relaxing bath after I thought I had all of the kids to bed...Corrinna surprised me and came into the bathroom. She said "Are you taking a big girl bath?"
Corrinna had been sick and I asked her if she was feeling better. She said "Yes, I VERY better" :)
Corrinna and I were laying down and she hugged me and said "MY Christina Mommy" Awww!!!
Keely tossed her spoon from dinner into the sink and said "I licked it clean, you're WELCOME!"
Zachary said, "The only thing more annoying than Keely before she went to school is Keely after she started school, because now she's just spelling stuff all the time!" Will these kids ever get along???
A boy in Keely's class asked her to KISS him the other day!! She responded "I'm not allowed to have boyfriends!" Smart girl ;)
I asked Keely if she was sad at school on the first day, and she said "When I'm sad., I just color!"
Nicholas dropped his banana on the kitchen floor and was going to throw it away. Zachary said "Nicholas, you ate a cheese-it you found in the car from when we went to SEA WORLD! I think you can eat that banana!"
OK this one was one of my cute friends, Erica. I told her that Keely was going to Princess Camp, and she said "of COURSE she is" ;) I guess that sounded like something right up my alley....
When I picked up Keely and her friend Mia from *Princess Camp* today, Keely said "You need to buy a carriage, we're PRINCESSES!" Hmm that's not going to her heard or anything, is it?? ;)
Corrinna was asking for lemonade, and it sounded like *made* when she said it. Nicholas asked her if she liked *made* and she yelled back "NO! I like NADE!"
Keely said "I'm H-O-T and NOT the love kind!"
5-26-08- Tomorrow is Keely's birthday. She said "I am going to hibernate all day today so I won't be too tired on my birthday!"
The kids and I were all rooting for David Archuleta on American Idol, though we loved both David's and were happy with either one winning. Nicholas could tell I was a little bummed, though, that David Cook won. The next morning he said "I bet David Cook won becuase he is older and more mature" LOL, he was trying to cheer me up :) What a thoughtful little guy!!
Corrinna was in her crib for her nap, but apparently not asleep yet...the boys were in the gameroom signing a song that goes to the tune of the ABC's and we hear Corrinna sing out "L-M-N-O-P!"
Keely was saying "4 more days until my birthday!" and Corrinna shouts, "NO! Happy Birthday MINE!" (she refers to herself as *me* or *mine*)

4th of July

We had a fabulous 4th of July with all the usual- swimming, bbq, and fireworks :)

Last Day of School!

Last day of 4th grade for Corrinna!

Last day of 11th, 7th, and 10th grade for these guys!!

And then....SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Burton cousins were in town for 3 weeks, the last week of school and first two weeks of summer! I love seeing the cousins together, they are such sweet friends! Here is the first of several posts of cousin fun from their visit! ♥
