More Fit For the Kingdom

Last Saturday Misty and I walked with the Young Women of Gila River ward and over two hundred other youth and leaders from the Phoenix Stake in walking 23 miles from our stake center to the new Phoenix Temple site. We started around 6:40am and completed at 5:20pm.
Taylor, Kennedy, Brooke and Misty walking through downtown Glendale.

Just past Glendale Community College.

Misty Holt, the mom of two of my girls was out there along the way to encourage and cheer us on. After so many miles, it was appreciated!

A quick rest.

At this point it was getting rough for some of us. It was sweet to see some lean on others. I think we were probably about fourteen miles out at this point.

A little moleskin will fix up those feet!

The start of the hike on the mountain. The last three miles of the trek going through Thunderbird park. The most difficult part of the trek.
Me with one of my Laurels, Rachel.

Just a quarter mile from the finish line.

We made it! This is the Temple site!
I struggled walking for a couple days following the activity but it was an experience I will never forget. I am thankful for the chance I had to participate.

Another First for Collin and Mom

The day after Christmas my family decided to go see a $3 movie. Mark was enjoying a game of golf so I gave it a go and took Collin with me. He was amazed by the big screen for about two minutes and then became ancy. After some time pacing the floor in the back I was able to get him to sleep for the the last half of the movie.

At 10 Months

Sometimes it is hard to get Collin to play with his toys because he is so interested
in all the things in the house that he can investigate. Things like items in the bookshelf....
Eeek! My Beatles albums!

...The dog door...

...and the dishwasher.

We try to keep him cornered in the family room by putting the bean bag in
the way, but you can see that it doesn't do much good.

This was too cute. I was doing dishes and no longer heard Collin in the family room.
Went in to see what he was up to and this is what I found.
