Busy Weekend!

This last weekend had a lot going on. It was my mom's birthday, my sister's birthday, my birthday, Father's Day and the first day of summer. So, how did I celebrate?
Beautiful flowers from my adopted grandpa.

On Saturday my mom, sister and close friend Kelley spent the day at Castles N Coasters. It was all of our first time going and it was really really hard for my mom and sister and I to do it but we went on all the rides.
Probably not a big deal for most but this was only my 3rd upside down coaster ever and my first to have a double loop. It was a blast!

This free fall ride was the most difficult for me to overcome. Although it is only 150 feet tall it was way high for my taste and the fall was terrifying! Don't know if I have ever screamed so loud.

We topped it all off with a calm, yet competitive game of goofy golf. I came in last place of course but still had a great time.

On Monday, my sister and I went with good friends Carly and Chris to Wet n' Wild. The first water park we had been to since little kids. We had a blast! Two of the rides looked a little intimidating but once we got going it was all just a ton of laughs.

Be Our Guest!

As we have done in the past, last week Mark's good friend Scott came from Florida to visit his children (who live with their mom). Here are some the fun things we did in the week they visited us.
Karaoke of course!

Mark went with Scott and the kids to see the drummer from the band Dream Theater.

A visit to the Trailside neighborhood water park cooled us off for a few hours.

The night before they left there was a celebration for all the birthdays.

We celebrated Father's Day a day early so the girls could make breakfast for Scott.

We look forward to next year already!

Temporary Mom

A couple weeks ago I went as a cabin mom to girls camp. From Friday morning to Tuesday afternoon I was gone to Camp Lo Mia just north of Payson, Arizona. We were anxious to get going at 6 am on Friday and we were busy busy busy for days. Here is a little bit of what my time there was like.
Of course we had to decorate the cabin.

The girls camp theme was superheroes. as a cabin we discusses everyday heroes (doctors, police, parents, military, etc.)

Here I head out with the 2nd year girls for their 5 mile hike. Half way through we stopped at the creek and dipped our feet as we ate lunch. It was a highlight of camp for me.

Special guests were with us for Sunday services. After discussing the girl's divine nature, they were all given crowns.
Night time devotional.

Day time activities.
It was a blast! I was so blessed with great girls in my cabin and we had a lot of fun!

Mark's Birthday!

Okay, this post is a little behind but anyway, here is what we did for Mark's 35th birthday. He wanted to spend the weekend in Prescott and so here are some of the things we did:
The downtown art festival

The Sharlot Hall Museum

And, an afternoon on the lake.
We also did some shopping, went to the movies and watched the Phoenix Sun's playoff game with the locals at a downtown restaurant. On Sunday evening we visited with Mark's family who made him his favorite goodies; homemade ice cream and rice krispy treats! Yum.

Our great friends, Mark and Kelley, are doing adoption #2. I linked their two adoption websites on the right side of our blog. It will be there until they adopt. I will also post on my Facebook status to gain more hits. Check them out and let everyone know.
