Sweet Corn

A few nights ago we had corn on the cob for dinner. One-year-old Junior Mint loved it! And didn't even slow down through thirds and fourths until the ice cream came out for dessert.

Ice cream was served in 8 oz drinking cups - and although Junior Mint has learned to use a spoon and tried to drink the melted remnants out, he apparently was unsatisfied with his ability to clean the last drips from the cup. I don't know if the first time he put his (short) chewed-over cob in the cup he had a plan, but it didn't take him long to arrive at one after he licked the ice cream drippings off the cob.

After using his cob to clean his cup a couple times he looked for greener pastures in his siblings hands. Seeing an opportunity, he dropped his cob in Niccus' cup while her spoon was in her mouth. She removed it in disgust and handed it back to him. (Precisely according to his plan!) After dutifully cleaning the ice cream from the cob he again looked for another opportunity to reload his cob, chasing both Niccus and Harvey Jr away!
