If...

If Newt Gingrich gets the GOP presidential nomination...

I'm becoming Democrat.

My Little Sunbeam

My friends have all been mentioning and honoring their sunbeams and it's made me feel a bit neglectful, for I too, have a sunbeam.

Yep, Samuel is three and officially in the Sunbeams class. (For those of you who don't know, moving to the Sunbeams class is kind of like a rite of passage for our children in the LDS church, it moves them from nursery to the big kids class and makes them look all grown-up).

I would like to say he's been walking around singing "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam" but he's only done that once.

Instead he keeps singing the following lyrics:
"I move like Jack, I move like Jack, ooo-ooo-oo-ooo"

Yes, that's right, he's singing "Moves like Jagger" by Maroon 5. Can you tell what Mommy keeps blasting in the car every time it comes on the radio? (I can't help it, I love that song and haven't tired of it yet).

I probably should be concerned... but I'm not.

Meet Lillian

This is Lillian.

She is bright and curious and wears her emotions on her sleeve. You always know how she is feeling by just looking at her face. Such an expressive face! Her eyes sparkle when she is happy and burn when she is angry. They also gleam mischievously.

She has such a big personality. She loves the color pink, shoes, necklaces, Tinker Bell, Wonder Pets, playing with Samuel, dancing, singing, eating, helping Mommy, being with Daddy, and anyone who will read to her. Oh and hats.

She also loves her friends and swinging.

She doesn't quit and can be quite stubborn (a trait she gets from me, I'm afraid). She is incredibly curious and inquisitive. All of these traits get her into a lot of trouble, but they also get her out of a lot of trouble. I am comforted in some ways to know that she will be a strong young woman.

She turned 2 last Friday and already she completely amazes me. Dear Lillian, I love you. I love your smile, your laugh, your hugs, your dancing, and the complete joy you have in life. Happy Birthday to one incredible little girl (because I just can't call you my baby-girl anymore, can I?).
