Whats New

Well I decided i should write a blog post since it has been forever since i have done one! Because nothing cool happens in our lives, like announcing we are pregnant, baby milestones, taking cruises, vacations, graduations, new car purchases, new anything purchases, and or fun pics of us doing fun stuff etc. etc. (wow we are lame) I decided to just write about the random tidbits from the past few months. and i know how you all REALLY rely on my posts so here it is...

Happening of The Chadburns...

-My flat iron died last month and I hadn't had a hair cut in forever so i had really "cute" ponytails, messy buns, and braids for awhile. But I won a free hair cut to a local salon and cut 6 inches off! My awesome sister gave me a flat iron for Christmas so my hair is presentable again:)
-i had my 4 nutcracker shows the week after thanksgiving and they turned out fantastically despite the fact that i was an emotional wreck during all the shows and cried at least 5 times in a 2 day period!
- Mikkel's Audi has been in the shop like 6 times this year for different things and with the money we spent on it we could have bought a new or slightly used car!! Or probably could have fed a small country!
-We hosted thanksgiving for Mikkel's family at our house and had 19 people! Our nephew decided to puke all over my white carpet during our feast and graciously displayed the olives and carrots he had previously eaten! I still can't get the orange out of the carpet...
-We were recently released from being primary teachers for 3 yrs. and put into the position of ward missionaries. Now people know who we are and we get to socialize with adults on Sundays!! yay!! We do have to teach gospel principals every 5th Sunday, and i freak out and get so nervous 3 days before! teaching adults is scary especially when they are all older than you and probably know more than you about the topic!
-Mikkel has been putting his amazing cooking skills to work and has been making homemade pizza and the most amazing guacamole you have ever tasted! He got the ultimate pizza stone for Christmas and is still perfecting his dough recipe!
-We decided to turn off our Directv to save money and had one last Hoora by ordering the UFC fight and inviting 25 people over to hang out and watch it! i thought I'd miss it but i never watched TV in December, not once did i think about it while i was home. This will also help me to get things done around the house instead of sit in front of the TV!
- the other day a 7 yr old girl said to me, " That's okay, some woman just aren't made to have babies." hmm, not sure how to take that... just thought it was random and funny!
- While shopping the other day I was referred to as "some lady" by two teenage boys. That's when i realized that i am way out of the "girl" category and feel like an old lady! I am well on my way to my 30's and i have to face it!
-we finally bought more paint to finish our mammoth 30 ft wall that leads to our upstairs! don't worry it has only been halfway painted for 11 months now... and we have great intentions to getting it all done this time!
-I searched like a mad woman to find the best Christmas deals with online coupons, deals, and promo codes! I got some great ones but man it is exhausting to save money! searching for who has the best deals and comparing prices and going to stores to price match! ah! also 7 things did not ship before Christmas, stupid!
-we lost our dog Sadie 4 times. Mind you she is tiny and weighs 5 lbs and blends in with most shrubbery! One of those times was when we were in Mesquite! We found her 4 blocks down on a busy rode!
- I've realized that i can't spell or punctuate !! every other word i type has a red line underneath it! don't worry! I will spell check before i post this!
-We went to mesquite just before Christmas, survived an 8 hr drive in a deathly blizzard, got there to find that the city was flooding! Mikkel helped my bro in law sand bag, save houses, and pull little kids out of the water! he was also in the city paper for being a hero!
-We were all sick while in mesquite! the nights were full of coughing and no sleep! we spent most days sitting on the couch, fighting over the ipad, and not getting ready. we forced a game or two of catch phrase but it was short lived when we were all falling asleep! It's just not the same if we aren't arguing over who gets the points!
-Drove to St. George one day to do some last minute shopping and on our trip back we hit a huge boulder in the gorge, along with 3 other vehicles. No one had service but my sister had Onstar and we were able to get help. it took 3 grown men, two police officers, and two tow truck guys to change my sisters truck tire! who knew you had to have certain tools in the truck to change the tire! while all this was going on my 1yr old nephew decided to lock himself in the truck! and it took him 15 minutes to unlock the doors!
-Had Christmas morning at my moms house and got to watch Hailey open up all of her presents! It is so fun to see the looks on little kids faces! We got some awesome gifts this year and i can't decide which one is my favorite, my ipod or a baby blanket that has been saved for us for 5 years and had no use anymore...
-I turned 26 on January 22! wow i am getting old! to celebrate we went down to mesquite again because my nieces birthday was the day after mine! We had fun making thousands of cupcakes, figuring out how to make a barbie cake (just so you know you can bake a cake in a kitchen aid mixer bowl), hosting a party for 15 5 yr olds, going to movies, hating the movie 20 minutes in and then sneaking into another one, and going out to eat!
-I got spoiled and got a new camera from my mom, sister, and Mikkel! It is so nice!
-We have been organizing our house hard core!! every drawer has been pulled out and every box emptied! most things have a permanent place and we have started a huge yard sale pile! it feels good to be organized! I'm also very aware of how much crap we have and are still holding on to...
-I have started watching Desperate Housewives season 1 and i am loving it! It's nice to have little distractions from life here and there :)
-I ran 3 miles on the treadmill for the first time! i usually do the elliptical machine because i have bad knees, achilles, and tendons. This is exciting for me and I can't wait to run further and further each time!
-We have high hopes for 2011 and are glad to see 2010 bite the dust! so far its been an ok year. I think the universe might be kind to us this year and maybe tip the scales in our favor a few times... I just know it! We are both going to try to be very positive no matter what happens in life!

i am done for now... So if you made it through this long post you deserve a pat on the back!
