East Canyon Resort – Part 1

After an unexpected overnight stay in Atlanta and an upgrade to First Class on Delta’s newest plane (it was Super Awesome!) we finally made it to Utah. I would have rather gotten to Utah 13 hours earlier on the flight that we were supposed to be on, but the plane we were on was a lot of fun. Matt was like a kid in a candy store, pushing every button his finger could find. He was even able to help one of the flight attendants who didn’t know where the button was to turn on the overhead light. The best part of all was the fact that our seats could fully recline. It was nice to get a nap in between the numerous TV shows we enjoyed, and the full omelet breakfast. First Class is definitely the way to travel, but I don’t think we’ll ever pay for it.Jul162009_0272 Jul162009_0276

We had a few hours to relax before driving up to East Canyon.Jul162009_0285 Jul162009_0279

The next morning we had great expectations of going on a good hike up the mountain. The plan was for some of the group to go back to the condo once Elise got tired. But when that happened we were all ready to go back. Pretty pathetic that our hiking stamina is that of a 3 year old!

After our GREAT hike, we did some much needed pampering by going shopping at the outlets in Park City. Melody and Elise got to ride in this sweet fire truck!

A Day in the City

We’ve been trying to take advantage of some of the events going on in Richmond. There are tons of things to do here in the summer! A few weeks ago we went to the 17th Street Farmers Market. They were having their Tomato Festival. We’re not huge fans of tomatoes but it was still fun. We enjoyed seeing really big dogs, sharing a gyro, and listening to the great live music.

Matt was trying to decide whether or not to buy a huge melon. We didn’t end up buying it because our car was parked pretty far away.

How do you patch up a hole in a cobblestone street? With asphalt, of course! Economical, but not very pretty.Jul112009_0022

That night we enjoyed a great British comedy performed at an outdoor amphitheater with Brian and Kimberly. The community theaters put shows on for free. And we’re excited to be back there this weekend to see our good friend Haley perform. You can’t beat FREE entertainment!

Happy Birthday America!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. We spent ours in the wonderful Virginia Beach with our good friends. It was a fun and relaxing weekend with lots of games to be played, water to swim in, food to eat, sand to play in, holes to dig, movies to watch, and fireworks to be loved by all.
