PBXware Product Features

Business Phone Systems

Our multi-tenant platform lets service providers deliver a complete business phone system to clients of any size, under their own brand, from a single installation. PBXware handles call routing, IVR, hot-desking, call recording, and conferencing. gloCOM brings voice, video, chat, and meetings into one interface across desktop, mobile, and web, which simplifies both the user experience and the support overhead. Multi-CRM support in v8 means call activity logs automatically to each user's CRM, reducing manual data entry across the board. For clients ready for contact center capabilities, CC Lite adds ERG callback, real-time wallboards, and scheduled reports as a clean upsell with no migration required.

Business VoIP

Our VoIP solution pairs PBXware with gloCOM: the PBX handles the infrastructure, gloCOM handles what the user actually sees and touches. Calls follow the person across desktop, mobile (iOS and Android), and web on the same number, which removes the friction of being tied to a specific device or location. With v8 multi-CRM support, conversation history logs automatically to each user's CRM across all channels and devices, so client data stays accurate without additional manual work. gloCOM Next runs on a unified codebase across desktop and web, with full branding control through BRM. Fully white-label, so providers own the customer relationship from end to end.

Call Center

White-label and built for service providers, offers partners a fully omnichannel contact center they can bring to market under their own brand (or lighter CC capabilities under a different plan). Agents work from a single workspace across voice, SMS, email, live chat, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger, which matters because customers expect continuity regardless of channel. Supervisors get wallboards, live queue visibility, and 40 plus reports, so decisions are based on what is actually happening, not what happened an hour ago. With v8, Voice Agents extend coverage to hours when agents are not available, and multi-CRM support ensures every interaction is automatically logged to the right record without manual entry. Four outbound dialer strategies let providers match the tool to the campaign type.

Cloud PBX

Our Cloud PBX runs PBXware on SERVERware, our hosting and infrastructure platform built specifically for communications. The distinction matters in practice: geo-redundancy, automatic failover, and storage replication are part of the foundation PBXware runs on, so a hardware failure stays at the infrastructure level and never reaches the customer. Providers scale by adding hosts as their client base grows, with services running uninterrupted throughout. Multi-tenant architecture means multiple clients managed from a single installation, and the entire stack is fully white-label, so providers deliver it under their own brand at their own margins.

PBX

PBXware is Asterisk-based, built on open standards, and in active development since 2004, which makes it the oldest platform of its kind still evolving. Open standards give providers real flexibility, with compatibility across the SIP infrastructure and hardware clients already have in place. The platform comes in three plans covering everything from full-featured PBX and UC through to omnichannel contact center. Providers can deploy Voice Agents and Live Transcription in days, run multiple CRMs in parallel per tenant with automatic activity logging, and connect real-time call events to their clients' automation tools through the Event Publisher. PBXware runs on SERVERware, sipPROT secures it at the SIP level, and gloCOM Next connects end users across desktop, mobile, and web. Fully white-label.

PBX Phone Systems

Our platform covers the full range of what service providers need to sell: main PBX and UC, CC Lite capabilities for clients that need contact center essentials like ERG callback, real-time wallboards, and scheduled reports, and a full omnichannel CC. Multi-tenancy lets providers manage multiple clients from a single installation, keeping operations efficient as the business scales. The platform has been in production since 2004, which means providers are building on something that has already been tested across thousands of deployments. v8 adds AI capabilities, multi-CRM running in parallel per tenant, and the Event Publisher for real-time automation. Available cloud or on-premise, fully white-label.

Telephony

PBXware connects clients to their carriers and handles everything the call infrastructure needs: SIP trunking, call routing, IVR, auto-provisioning, and hot-desking. It is built on open standards, which in practice means providers can work with the SIP infrastructure and hardware their clients already have in place. With v8, AI capabilities are manageable through AI Hub and ready to deploy in days, covering Voice Agents, Live Transcription, and Text to Speech. The Event Publisher publishes real-time call events as structured JSON the moment they happen, so clients can connect PBXware to their CRM tools without custom development. Available in a true multi-tenant architecture, on cloud or on-premise, Bicom branded or fully white-label.

UCaaS

Our platform is built for service providers delivering unified communications as a managed service under their own brand. Multi-tenancy means each client gets an isolated configuration on a shared installation, which keeps infrastructure lean and margins healthy as the client base grows. For providers with clients running full contact center operations, our omnichannel CC offers agent and supervisor workspaces, skill-based routing, dialer, and 40 plus reports. The full UC stack is included across all plans: voice, video, chat, meetings, and v8 AI features covering Voice Agents, Live Transcription, and multi-CRM support with automatic activity logging across channels and devices. gloCOM Next is the client-facing app, fully brandable. We handle development, updates, and support, so providers focus on growing their business.

Unified Communications

Our UC platform brings PBXware and gloCOM together into a single product that service providers can bring to market under their own brand. Voice, video, chat, meetings, and presence run in one interface across desktop, mobile, and web, on a unified codebase that keeps the desktop and web experience consistent and easier to support. v8 multi-CRM support runs multiple CRMs in parallel per tenant, with conversation history logging automatically across all channels and devices, so client data is always where it needs to be. AI capabilities through AI Hub add Voice Agents and Live Transcription for providers looking to differentiate. Fully white-label, with branding managed through BRM.

    "PBXware V7" Posted 2023-12-19

Pros: I have the pleasure of using this innovative communication platform and I must say, it's a game-changer. Its compatibility across various devices, including mobile apps, web, and desktop environments (Windows, Ubuntu, and Mac), ensures seamless connectivity no matter where I am or what device I'm using.

The platform stands out for its crystal-clear interface, which makes navigation and operation a breeze. This user-friendly design is perfect for both tech-savvy individuals and those who are less familiar with digital platforms.

One of the most impressive features is its multi-tenant capability. This aspect allows for efficient management of different organizational units or customer accounts, all within a single, unified framework. It's an ideal solution for businesses looking to streamline their communication processes.

Another commendable feature is the robust SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) protection mechanism. This security measure ensures that all communications are secure and protected from potential threats, giving me peace of mind when sharing sensitive information.

In summary, this platform is not just a tool; it's a comprehensive solution for modern communication needs. Its stability, cross-platform compatibility, user-friendly interface, and top-notch security features make it an indispensable asset for personal and professional communication.

Cons: While this platform offers several commendable features, there are areas where it falls short, which potential users should be aware of. One notable limitation is the absence of tenant branding options. This can be a drawback for businesses seeking a personalized touch in their communication tools to align with their brand identity.

Another significant concern is its limited capacity to handle a large number of users within a single PBX system. This limitation could pose challenges for larger organizations or those experiencing rapid growth, as it may not scale effectively to meet increasing demands.

The platform's API integration capabilities are somewhat underwhelming. This lack of robust integration options can hinder seamless connectivity with other systems and applications, potentially affecting workflow efficiency.

Lastly, the recurring fee structure for using the Desktop and Mobile apps is a drawback, especially considering that many competitors offer free versions of similar applications. This could be a deterrent for users or businesses with limited budgets or those who are looking for cost-effective solutions.

In conclusion, while the platform has its strengths, these limitations in branding, user capacity, API integration, and cost structure are aspects that could significantly impact its suitability for certain users and organizations.

Overall: This communication platform offers a range of impressive features, including cross-platform compatibility, a user-friendly interface, multi-tenant functionality, and robust security. However, it falls short in areas like tenant branding, user capacity, API integration, and cost-efficiency. While it stands as a reliable choice for certain users and smaller organizations, these limitations could be significant for larger businesses or those with specific integration and branding needs. Prospective users should weigh these factors to determine if this platform aligns with their requirements.

"Bicom PBXware: Ready for primetime!" Posted 2023-12-07

Pros: Having originally started on Version 2 of PBXware; The latest version 7.x has every feature under the sun that any business is looking for in a cloud based phone system. Features such as shared call appearance and ringing on multiple devices is easy to implement and set up. The companion app Communicator (now Version 7) completes this offering adding meetings and remote desktop support too.

Cons: The Communicator app adds a monthly recurring fee, but it is not too expensive.

Overall: Having been a long time user of this software has enabled our business to profitably grow and keep ahead of out competitors.

Pros: The easy of use. It works, stable and is feature rich. The GUI is well presented and the addition of sipPROT 5 to standalone is fantastic.

Cons: Branding, is per PBX not per tenant (web).
    Randomised DID option.

Overall: Excellent product and well recommended. There are several additional feature sets that need to be streamlined to ensure that we remain competitive.

"Multi Tenant User " Posted 2023-12-06

Pros: We as a company have used PBXware for over 5 years. The product is easy to deploy on a multi-user platform. It simply works well for all types of applications and meets the demands of our end users. Customer support is also very knowledgeable when we have any type of question regarding special configurations. The portal used by the end users is easy to navigate which makes them more independent.

Cons: The main account login page needs some work you should be able to add a license from those screens without being redirected to another page. I came from a time when the 2-step verification was not necessary I understand it is a security step but I am not a fan of the way it works. Sending a security code via email or text would work much better.

Overall: We have tried many different platforms over the years but PBXware just works best the features, ease of programming, and support of the product are why we prefer it over other platforms available.

"Probably the best PBX solution there is" Posted 2023-12-06

    Pros: - straightforward initial setup
    - simple to use, even for the beginners
    - works on pretty much any platform, on prem or in cloud
    - well maintained and constantly updated
    - support team is exceptional and always available

Cons: - nothing to report as a con so far
We are a happy PBXware user/admins/resellers from day one.

Overall: We've been using PBXware MT edition for more than 3 years now, and the primary server uptime is also 3 years :)
In the mentioned period, we upgraded PBXware twice, from version 5 to 6 and from 6 to 7, and the new and very useful features kept coming in.
During this period, we had little to no issues, and the small issues we had were resolved almost immediately after we reported them to the support team.

"Marvelous UCaaS Platform " Posted 2023-12-05

Pros: True transformation from where we started with 3.4 and where we are now with PBXware 7.
I am using the PBXware Multi-Tenant /Call Center Editions from past 10 years, we started the with 3.4 with 32bit OS and it was very stable and reliable during that time itself with no apps.

With version 7 everything has been transformed to latest technology with more flexible and more reliable, excellent design, features, ease of use, collaborative, more important with STRONG security. KUDOS to everyone in this revolution of PBXware V7.
One STOP Place for all the communication needs.

    Cons: Honestly, nothing to mention.
PBXware is being used an Asterisk as core component for communication.
If anything related to Asterisks only we will have some limitations when it comes to users and endpoints. Apart from everything is going good.

Overall: We and our customers are very happy with PBXware and features.
We strongly recommend every business to use this for your communications needs.
Kudos to Bicom Systems Team, creating such wonderful products.
Support and Customer Service is very wonderful.
Always account manager is there to help you or Guide you in right direction if you come across anything, they are there to HELP customer NO MATTER!

    "My Favorite Vendor" Posted 2023-12-05

Pros: - Bicom's Support Teams is top notch. I deal with a ton of vendors and they are right there at the top of my list in terms of quality and responsiveness. Over the 7+ years I have been working with Bicom, they have consistently gotten better and better.
    - The features currently available on the PBXware platform are solid. Though it does occasionally happen, it is rare that I encounter an existing or prospective client who requests a feature or has a requirement that is not currently available on the PBXware platform.
    - Bicom's Development Team is active, listens and solicits feedback from their customers about feature development.
    - Since early 2021, Bicom has opened up the lines of communication with their partners through their forum. This forum is used for Bicom to harvest details about feature requests, future development efforts and for their customers to engage with each other to offer advice regarding technical hurdles, among other things.
    - The platform is very reasonably priced, especially when compared to other popular vendors such as Ring Central and 3CX.

Cons: - Some of the features require the customer to pay extra for what Bicom calls "modules." Features such as Queue Callback, Billing and Remote Archiving of call recordings to AWS/Google/DropBox each would require the customer to purchase a module and pay annual support for this feature.
    - There is a limit to the number of extensions you can/should put on a PBXware instance. Over the years, I heard various numbers ranging from 1000 to 1500. This is the same for the Call Center platform as well as their Multitenant platform. Multiple tenants worth of extensions (on the same PBXware multitenant instance) should not exceed Bicoms recommended extension limits. For customers with more than the recommended number of extensions, there are ways to get creative with dial plans and maybe your SBC to bridge the gap between two servers for things like extension-to-extension dialing, but features such as user presence and seeing all of your users in the end user application (gloCOM) are not possible when the users are spread out across multiple servers.

Overall: Overall, Bicom has been a pleasure to do business with over the years. They make significant efforts to make their customers feel heard, valued and bring a level of responsiveness that is unusual in todays MSP vendor landscape. When working with them, I feel less like a customer and more like a partner. An active participant in shaping the future of the product on behalf of our customers needs. When working with Bicom's Support Team, I sense a sincere desire to resolve issues, help me understand features and functions, and build solidly performing PBX solution, rather than just getting tickets closed.

"PBXware is scalabe and meets the needs" Posted 2023-12-04

Pros: The best thing about PW is that it is constantly evolving. I was lucky enough to see this product mature from v3 8 years ago to v7 today. The team is great when it comes to providing support and the product is solid when it comes to tailoring it to the needs of any customer.

Cons: None that I can think of, any issue, any request gets introduced to the support portal and is either dealt with by the support team or converted into a feature request and integrated into future releases.

Overall: The SW suite is a robust platform that comes in multiple flavors. It has several auxiliary products such as mobile app desktop and web apps, screen sharing, etc.

    "Excellent MT solution" Posted 2023-12-01

Pros: I love the way PBXware and especially Multi-Tenant version is scalable, and how you can simply, on one single instance, host a hundred customers. All of this without requiring any additional hardware such as an SBC, because PBXware supports NAT. Set up your server, connect your phone, you're ready to go, it's that simple.

But, what's even more impressive is that, despite its simplicity, PBXware allows you to create more complex call routing strategies. This is especially useful for customers or call centers with multiple queues and a large number of working agents. To me, that's the standout feature of PBXware: its flexibility. Whether you're a local IT vendor or a big company needing a more complex routing strategy, PBXware has got you covered.

Support is always ready to help us and actually listens our feedback carefully, which is really a good thing. We feel like we are listened and our feedback is valuable.

You can completly brand your PBX using your colors and logo which is not common for solutions like this one and its a huge pro. It shows the strategy of Bicom Systems : your customer is YOUR customer, and that's important. Bicom respects this privacy.

Cons: The only con I would see nowadays would be the lack of ability to have multiple extensions being edited at the same time. For example, if I wanna change or re-send my 100 extensions e-mail addresses, I would have to go and edit it one by one, and then send the mails one by one.

Overall: Currently, all of Bicom Systems' products are integral to our business operations such as PBXware, SERVERware, GloCOM, GloCOM Meeting. We manage thousands of customers through PBXware and leverage the softphone applications, specifically gloCOM. The primary benefit lies in the considerable time savings facilitated by the well-designed Multi-Tenant edition, particularly suitable for hosting diverse customer bases.

We are also selling PBXware licences everyday, and the market is growing more and more, we certainly see a bright future for Bicom Systems in our country. This is mainly because resellers are highly interested by the powerful Multi-tenant feature, this is not something you can see in other solutions, it is built and thought perfectly for administrators to integrate new customers everyday effortlessly.

Additionally, our communication is streamlined through the use of apps for making calls. Notably, our call center customers maximize the capabilities of the Call Center edition and Supervisor edition. These editions provide comprehensive reports and real-time statistics, empowering our call centers with detailed insights and enhanced operational control.
