Elecard Boro is a professional software solution for real-time video stream health monitoring and Quality of Service (QoS) & Quality of Experience (QoE) tracking across distributed networks. Designed for broadcasters, OTT providers, and IPTV operators, Boro utilizes distributed software probes to instantly isolate quality degradation across the entire delivery chain.
How it works:
Probes analyze UDP, RTP, HTTP, HLS, DASH, SRT, and RTMP streams up to UHD. Multi-point measurements are aggregated on a centralized server, providing instant alerts for ETSI TR 101 290 errors via Email, SNMP, Webhook, PagerDuty, and Telegram.

The price depends on the total number of monitored connections.
Both options require at least 25 connections to start.

Pros: I am thrilled to share how essential continuous monitoring is for live sporting events. Distributed monitoring is incredibly effective for overseeing signals at the network's border and handing them over to clients. With increased insight into the performance analysis of our transport streams, our TOC team uses the system 24/7 to monitor IP Transport streams (UDP and RTP); from time to time, we also direct SRT monitoring.
The probe functionality allows quick identification of specific events and their root causes through event search and root cause identification, which is critical in live broadcasting.
One of the standout features is the ease with which new probes can be deployed. This flexibility is particularly advantageous for global networks and the events we work on worldwide, allowing for quick and efficient scaling of monitoring capabilities.
The Elecard team provides prompt and helpful support, ensuring smooth operations at all times - from server selection to installation settings.Cons: The absence of a built-in multiviewer is the only downside. However, its inclusion would significantly increase the hardware requirements.

Pros: Easy to setup, good support and competitive business model.
SSO integration for access control.
The only cost effective solution we found to monitor all our streams in HLS + Dash, Encrypted + FTA, at six different steps in our workflow.Cons: Could be more precise in terms of alarm management (it raises them even for non critical issues).
Need to add a proxy for stream access control management.Overall: We use the probes to monitor our HLS and Dash streams at each step of the delivery process: Packager/CDN Shield/All our CDNs.

Pros: - Lots of features for monitoring and analyzing transport streams at remote sites.
- Detailed customization options for specific needs.

- Customizable alarm plans.
- Stable.
- Fair pricing.Cons: There could be better documentation, but most of the features are self-explaining.
Overall: Our support team was looking a long time for an affordable solution for remote monitoring the output of our products. With Boro we have found a very good solution for this.
