Educational Qualification (Branch-wise)
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Engineering / B.Tech degree or equivalent in any of the following disciplines:
- Telecommunications
- Electronics
- Radio
- Computer
- Electrical
- Information Technology (IT)
- Instrumentation
OR
- M.Sc. (Electronics)
- M.Sc. (Computer Science)
Note: Candidates with higher qualifications like M.Tech in the above disciplines are also eligible. The qualification must be from a recognized Institution/University and completed as on the closing date of application.
BSNL Recruitment 2026 Application Procedure
- Applications must be submitted online only through the official BSNL recruitmentportal .
- Application Fee:
- ₹2000/- for UR/OBC/EWS
- ₹1000/- for SC/ST/PwBD
- Candidates can choose up to 21 Circles in order of preference.
- Candidates are advised to upload all required documents including photograph, signature, 10th certificate, degree certificate, mark sheets, and category certificate.
Pay Scale & Salary Structure
- Pay Scale : IDA Pay Scale E-1 → ₹16,400 – 40,500 (2nd PRC, effective from 01.01.2007)
- Selected candidates will receive salary as per the prevailing IDA pay scale along with other allowances as admissible in BSNL.
Note: During the training period, candidates will be paid a stipend (training allowance) as decided by BSNL
BSNL Recruitment 2026 Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection will be based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.

- Marking Scheme : +4 for correct answer, -1 for wrong answer.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks :
- UR/OBC (CL): 40% in each section & 50% overall
- SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD: 35% in each section & 45% overall
- Final Merit : Based on total marks in all three sections (subject to qualifying marks).
Training & Bond
- Bond : Candidates must execute a bond of ₹6 Lakhs to serve BSNL for a minimum period of 5 years.

- JTO Phase-II: 6 weeks (Specialization)
Career Growth in BSNL
JTO is a Circle cadre post. After successful completion of probation and training, candidates will be posted in their allotted Circle. As per BSNL’s promotion policy, JTOs can be promoted to higher grades (SDE and above) based on seniority, performance, and departmental exams. Officers are liable to be transferred anywhere in India as per BSNL’s Transfer Policy.
