Talk:Mailnag
Link to maintained fork?
So for context, I tried setting up mailnag, and found out it hasn't worked out of the box since python 3.12 release, and it's unmaintained so it hasn't received patches to be compatible.
I've added a warning note about this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Mailnag&oldid=875970
But I'm torn - I found out that there's an existing fork that works well and I'm currently running it: mailnagger
I was considering adding 'A maintained fork exists in mailnagger' to the warning box, however - I haven't personally audited the code and there's a non-zero chance it could be malicious or become malicious later. I feel like this could help point users looking to set up mailnag in the right direction, but it effectively being a random github repository I'm not sure if that's something that should be in the wiki.
I'm a relatively inexperienced wiki editor so I'm not sure what the custom is - therefore I'm leaving this on the Talk page for now, hoping an experienced editor will let me know what the right course of action is. Dkmb (talk) 10:03, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
