Keyring not unlocked without modifying /etc/pam.d/greetd
The keyring was not unlocked for me on Sway or Hyprland until I added auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so and session optional pam_gnome_keyring.so auto_start to /etc/pam.d/greetd as mentioned in a comment on this Reddit post. K4J8 (talk) 18:05, 29 May 2023 (UTC)
Section 4.7 "Prevent systemd messages from overwrting console-based greeterd" possibly incomplete
I'm using the tuigreet greeter, but the instructions provided in said section weren't enough to stop systemd messages from littering the login screen. I was able to solve the problem with journald configuration, however, relying on this forum topic.
Might it be a good idea to also include this configuration snippet in the wiki section? I'd be happy to make the edit if everybody agrees that it'd make sense. :) Timo Früh (talk) 14:36, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
