Whiteboard.chat

Pros: I love Whiteboard.chat! I have been using this platform with grades Kindergarten through 8th since COVID hit March 2020. All of the students I was tutoring in person all of a sudden had to be switched to online. I was thrilled when I found Whiteboard.chat to use for my daily, online tutoring sessions and can even accommodate groups! Writing on the whiteboard allows all students in my group to see it at once. In “Grid” mode, I can see how each student is working on the math problem I’ve written on the whiteboard. They can’t see one another’s boards, so no one feels embarrassed. I can join students’ boards to assist them if necessary. There are so many manipulatives and options available to make teaching reading and math easier for me and more fun for the students. Being able to upload photos of math book pages or worksheets is extremely helpful as well. Pawan created letter tiles that could be moved around so that my students would be able to build words when I’m teaching phonics, reading, or spelling. Using Guessing Tiles (Like Wheel of Fortune) as a reward at the end of my sessions has been a big hit. The kids really look forward to it. Pawan and Dhaval have been so helpful as I have learned the new platform, and they have even implemented my suggestions / requests into Whiteboard.chat for everyone to use. Cons: I can't think of anything that I do not like about Whiteboard.chat.

Overall: Whiteboard.chat is a lifesaver and has allowed me to continue my tutoring business online since COVID!

Pros: I love whiteboard chat because of the following reasons:
1) The free version is rich in features
2) Math editor - allows me to add math syntax easily
3) Separate Student boards, so it's easy to manage lessons, and review student's progress. Also teacher's annotations + layout doesn't get erased by student.
4) Widgets, gizmos and digital manipulative makes teaching math easier and more engaging for students
5) Easy to upload pdf's (directly loads them into individual pages)
6) Easy to download whiteboard lessons as pdf
7) Intuitive UI even for younger students (not complicated to use)
8) Highly responsive feedback team (Responds to requests and inquiries in literally minutes!

Cons: Sometimes the whiteboard has bugs, and certain outputs aren't expected, but the team is really quick to respond to feedback and fix such issues.

Overall: I started using Whiteboard chart six months ago, and have not turned back since. It's the most essential and powerful tool for my online education business. Especially unlike other digital whiteboards, whiteboard chat has been designed with teachers and educators in mind, so the tools and features available have high usability and impact on my lessons.
