HI-Spec is a database solution. When structured as a database, multiple table techniques can be used in managing data. Multiple tables permits functionality limited only by imagination, since as long as a relationship can be found between items of data, then associations in data allows interactions between the data tables. This gives capabilities to HI-Spec software that cannot be found in most other forms of commercially available software for home inspectors. For example, contracts are linked to the scheduling calendar. All forward-view contracts can be viewed and selected. Multiple scheduling calendars are part of the solution; an inspection firm with any number of inspectors can have each inspector separately scheduled and their schedules displayed. Each contract is a record; when a new record is created, Entry Assist can speed up the process of capturing contract information. This improves data accuracy and ensures the required information fields are filled.
