Clipy is a lightweight online screen recording platform designed for creators, teams, educators, and professionals who want a quick and seamless way to record, save, and share screen videos.
About Clipy
Clipy is a free, no-watermark screen recorder for Mac, Chrome, and the web. It was built by Codersera as the recorder its team wished existed: hit record, stop, paste a share link. No watermark, no five-minute cap, no signup wall for the person watching. The recording flow is free in the same way a tape measure is free — it's a tool, not a tier.
Clipy ships in three places, each tuned to where its users already work. The native Apple Silicon menu-bar app for macOS records to a hotkey and streams the upload as it captures, so the share link is ready the moment Stop is pressed. The Chrome extension records screen, tab, window, or webcam from inside the browser most users already have open — works on Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, and macOS. And the browser-based recorder at clipy.online runs without an install, useful when neither the Mac app nor an extension is appropriate.
Every recording produces an instantly shareable link.

The instant sharing feature is especially useful because it allows me to send recordings immediately without extra steps. The interface is clean, and everything works as expected.
One feature I'd love to see in future updates is a basic trimming or editing option for recordings. That would make the tool even more convenient. Overall, Clipy is a reliable solution for anyone looking for a simple screen recording and sharing tool.
Recommended for users who want something lightweight and easy to use. -

"Clipy: Best Free Loom Alternative" Edited 2026-06-08
Pros: 1. I’ve been using Clipy as my main screen recorder for around 6–7 months for internal updates, product walkthroughs, and bug reports, and it’s become my default tool very quickly.
2. The core workflow is perfect for async work: I hit record, finish, click stop, and the shareable link is ready almost instantly.
3. Viewers don’t need to sign up to watch; they just click the link and the recording plays in their browser, which removes a lot of friction compared with other tools I’ve used.
4. The free plan is generous: unlimited recording time, no watermark, and screen + mic recording without a hard 5‑minute limit or strict cap on the number of recordings.
5. The interface feels lightweight and simple instead of bloated, so there’s almost no learning curve.Cons: 1. In some full‑screen recordings, the webcam overlay has glitched and disappeared mid‑recording, which is frustrating when you want your face visible the whole time.
2. The built‑in editor is fairly basic; precise trimming, cutting sections from the middle, or making a polished marketing‑ready video usually requires exporting to another tool.
3. Compared with Loom, Clipy currently lacks AI‑powered features and richer engagement tools like advanced annotations, viewer insights, or deeper analytics.Overall: Overall, I’d describe Clipy as a genuinely strong Loom alternative for people who value speed, unlimited free recording, and frictionless sharing more than advanced editing or AI extras. If you want a lightweight recorder that “just works” and makes it easy for anyone to watch your videos without creating an account. Clipy delivers on that promise!
